Hi Guys, we've got one of the NZ XR8 Sprints. Is it just me do you think that the graphics are under done. We own a sign shop so i'm a bit fussy on that. Anyone got some photos of stuff you've done? Did find an ebay one i can tweak a bit. And finally anyone done a catback exhaust on sprint. Did it on SS Commodore before this (dont shoot me) and yes top end the sound was way better but more noise on start up not really the 8 sound i was after. Any ideas..

Calling all Sydney Ford fans (especially Hills area) - was over at my local dealer today (where I got Sprinty) and my guy showed me a brand-new sillouette XR8 auto they've had there for months - unable to sell it! I couldn't believe it. It is NOT a Sprint, just a normal 335 XR8. I understand even the normal XR8's are like hen's teeth. He says they're eager to move it and they've had a tag of $60K on it but they're very open to discussion. Apparently they retail for about $64K drive away. Man, if i had space at home, I'd have a divorce on my hands I'm sure! If you're a Sydney-sider and can use a 2016 plated beast then head for the Hills. It's power Ford at Castle Hill - ask for Dave.

            Hey all,

If any Sydney buyer is interested in an XR8 sprint we just enquired on this one http://www.zoopercars.com.au/buying/view/2016-Ford -Falcon-FG-X-XR8-Sprint-White-6-Speed-Sports-Autom atic-Sedan/12440140

If your in Sydney they can do this car for $60k unregistered including transport to Sydney as a weekend special. If your in QLD the price advertised is driveaway. Unfortunately changeover price for me was a bit too much.

Car is as new, August build, Engine built by DD, the original owner traded the car in on a HSV GTS.

Any interested buyers can call Luke on (07) 3109 6712. Just mention my brothers name George.

We have no financial interest in this deal, but think it's good for someone who may have missed out on a sprint.

Do you like my rock catcher? I was absolutely stunned. I have travelled only 430km and discovered today the bumper was full of little rocks flicked up from the road. It has only been on bitumen and after 200km from new I decided to fit mud spats to protect the body. Put the car on the hoist today just to have a look how it was put together and found all the rocks. If I drove this car on the gravel I would hate to see the end result. I am not having a whinge - love the car but might I suggest you check your rear bumper. Michael

Anyone in W.A who can actually put a tint in without bubbles or points as they call them. Also a paint protection that will actually work. Not get swirl marks after a wash and shit actually washed off. Sick of people making claims about products. Then when it's not right or doesn't perform how they claim. They wash their hands and refer to warranty disclosures that cover nothing of what they claim it will protect. Will be asking for full refunds and looking for someone who can do tiny without bubbles or points and a paint protection that does what it says. And a bloody good protection. Not one where when I wash it and chamois the car it instantly gets swirls. I'm bloody fussy. And I want what actually works.

                    Good Evening Geoff Russell,

Thank you very much for accepting my Friends request tonight. I must say that while I was photographing on the track, I was very impressed with your driving and the way the Sprint handled itself under high speeds. I really appreciated the warm welcome by you, Nick Karadimas and the boys in the garage yesterday. I hope I get the chance to meet up with everyone again and look forward to taking more pictures. Welcome to the Trackside page Geoff.

                    Kind regards from John Wardzynski

A very sad day today, feeling a bit empty after taking the sprint 8 for a burn, knowing there will be no more. Not sure how many of you out there have thought about this, but there are roughly 24 million people living in Australia at the moment. Of these 24 million approximately 18 million (or 75%) are 18 years of age or older and can hold a drivers licence. With only 1250 Sprints made in total that means that we, Sprint owners, are the 0.007% of the eligible driving population fortunate enough to own a truly incredible piece of Australian motoring history. A massive thanks to all at Ford who have ever been involved with bringing us 56 years of Falcon, especially those involved with this last truly awesome incarnation. It is an absolute pleasure and honour to drive and own such a vehicle. To all of the other Sprint owners out there please take care of them as they are unfortunately irreplaceable.

Well fellow Ford fanatics, I can't believe this day has arrived. I was kept way too busy at work to be able to spend much time thinking about it but now I have got home I feel I have to put some fingers to the keyboard. On that fate full day in 2013, my boss and myself were in the USA on a quick trip to look at a car he had purchased and was damaged in transport (1971 Dodge Challenger NASCAR) and we heard a news report that FORD was to stop manufacturing cars in Australia in a couple of years time. I thought I was hearing things so I waited for the next bulletin and sure enough it was true. I am not sure if it was because I was so far away or what but it didn't seem real. We decided that the next day we whould head out the the nearest FORD dealer and checkout what was on US showrooms that we might see here in a couple of years time. To say that what was on show was very ordinary (except the F series range) would be an under statement. I could have bought a new F 250 for $29990 drive away but I couldn't make the salesman understand that it would cost WELL over $150,000 by the time I got it home lol. The FORD Edge wasn't so bad but not really a replacement for a Teritory and we all know what an Explorer (Exploder) is like. So I left feeling very sad and it's the same today. I feel sorry for the workers, my FORD friends and the next generations that won't be able to say "Have you driven a FORD (made in Aus) Lately".

Today is a sad day for all Australians. Today the Ford factory in broadmeadows will complete the last car it builds in Australia. The Geelong factory will also close.

This is not a good day for this country, it marks the beginning of the end for all 3 local manufacturers to close their doors, by Christmas next year there will be no local car manufacturing left.

Some say that the car industry shouldn't get government support, it's a very short sighted opinion. Every dollar the government gave to this industry the industry gave 4 back to the community. Yes people on the factory floor may have early better than average wages for unskilled labour, but this was good for the greater community, by earning good wages, these people had e Tra income to take their families out to support other industries.

The closure of our car manufacturing industry will be felt heavily hear in Victoria and in a South Australia.

The people at Ford work hard for the money they earn. To them I wish the best for their future.

                          RIP Ford manufacturing Australia.

Just a quick question for you all, I have noticed that some of you sprint guys have gone with changing out the suspension on the vehicles to go lower. Has this helped the handling of the car, or is it all about stance? (If someone else has already posted this, I am sorry, I am just curious to see how it has effected the car)

Ok so my ford ranger which i was relying on selling privately to put towards my sprint 8. Well a couple of weeks ago got stolen and damaged. Now it is getting fixed but i won't get it back till after my sprint is due to be delivered which doesn't leave me any time to sell it privately to get the price i need and will force me to take a trade in which will be 10 to 15k lower. It looks like i might not be able to get the sprint after all. I don't want to just let it go to just anyone and lose part of my deposit in the process. Has anyone actually managed to sell their sprint before they built it if you know what i mean? Are the sprints selling for more than rrp?

I am hoping i can work something out to keep the sprint but just in case i need some sort of back up plan

I have been reading everyone's comments about the PZEROS VS STONES over the past few months. Sure, everyone hates stone chips.. they suck. But if you're buying a Sprint, chances are you like the occasional blast up a nice twisty backroad as much as the next legend. This is where the Pzeros shine so it would seem a shame to have to swap them out in the aid of paint protection.

This got me thinking, how can i protect my paint but also keep some excellent rubber? Whilst catching up with a good mate of mine who just so happens to be a signwriter, I asked if he could help me with some protective vinyl. As he has access to a CNC Vinyl cutter he suggested we could make kits cut to size ready to install for others that might want to do the same. If this is something that might interest you leave a comment here

                                        Club Fg-Fgx

So I'm just putting a few feelers out there for a possibly huge car show next year in February .

My mum and dad run a nonprofit muscle car club and I doing a charity event with a youths sports group next year.

We are aiming to get 1500 cars on the sports field. We would like all different types of cars, muscle cars, Rice burners, Fourbys and all types of motorcycles.

We would really like to put on a "club display" that can also be judged ( depending on each driver )

We are looking at a cost between $5 and $15 per entry just depending on whether they would like to enter their car for judging or not.

a % of the profit goes to selected charities, and to the youth sports group that we are teaming up with. It will be based in Mansfield, Brisbane. And it will be a Twilight event so we will start it at about 2 PM and finish at 10 PM. We will have A flea market, swap meet, kids activities and food stalls.

If this is something that you think that you could be involved in please let me know.

The dates are not 100% set in stone however if you are interested I will definitely keep you posted with everything that we will be providing.

You're more than welcome to organise a meeting with myself and our committee and your admin to go through any questions that you may have.

Thank you so much for your time

Our car club is called east coast musclecar club

we are not wanting to adverise our club within your group but want to get a huge range of different car groups involved.

we are also having a competition between the car groups and 100% of the entry fees for the comp goes to a selected charity. we are looking at doing a water slide baseball comp.

the videos you see on facebook where you have to slide to each base.

so may the best car group win.

This is what a real Aussie driveway should look like.... No import crap here... very saddened to know that one day when I need to replace my work car the replacement won't have been built in this country... Up until the end of local manufacturing in this country I am proud to say that every car and ute I our my company have owned were built in this country... Very disappointed to know that my car buying dollars will never support a local manufacturing job again...

I'm finally picking mine up tomorrow (Fri 29th) so once wheels, tint, roof, slim w/shields and mud spats are fitted I'll 'try' and post some photos of the most stunning Winter White beastie you'll see for a while on these pages! Should have my 'Australiana' plates by then too! Cheers all - Brian.

I have done nearly 3000 km in my T6 Sprint. For the first 2000 km it was doing 12.5 L/100 or worse as an average. now it is doing 10.2 L/100. It is not being pampered or trashed and my CX5 would be returning 8.4 L/100 for the same. To achieve the 10.2 it has had 400 km's on the motorway, 400 km's around town.

I've been looking back at past mags and reviews of the GT and F6, and to be honest, the Sprint's times are leagues ahead, particularly in the case of F6/Turbo vs Xr6 Sprint.

There are a few times recorded where the F6 ran 5.5s, and the absolute best was a 5.0. So for the Xr6 to run a 5.1 at worst, and admittedly on a slippery strip, and on average run easily under 5s, that speaks a lot.
