Hi there Guys,

it's a very sad day for me as i am posting my thunder (Cat) for sale.

:( The only reason for selling her is that we are expecting a little one and unfortunately Cat is not what you would call a baby friendly car. I'm looking for around £400 ono if i get around the £400 mark i will MOT her (she currently has no MOT). I have had most of the work done for the MOT but she will still need axle bushes doing. She has had over £500 pounds spent on getting her ready for her mot in the last 3 months (receipts to prove it. (see picture)) Also i have just serviced her.

feel free to ask questions - there's a lot done (so much that if i posted it all we would be here all day haha)

I got my focus back from the auto electrician this weekend so the puma can stop being my daily, avoid the salty roads and have a bit of TLC.

By gawd the focus is a heavy, sluggish old barge - I'm sure it was fine before I got the puma!

I think some extra lights behind the lower grill will be going in, a bit of arch preservation and maybe some lowering springs. Problem is that every time I do bodywork I need to fight the temptation to change the colour, I always liked signal green, and purple velvet metallic :-)

New Year has begun for me :D

A lot of thanks to Simon Crosby for his great help and saving one future classic car. now my Puma will rise from ashes and be unstoppable!

Simon is an example of real man! what he did is not just car part or gift to me, he made me think about our life! we gotta give hand to hand and give each other as much love as we can! I don't know how I give thanks back to him, but one thing I know, I'll never forget him and I'll be ready to help other people as he did to me! Peace to everybody!

Side On Saturday :D yepp, i'm trying to do a 'shiny' thing. Well pleased with how the 16" StreetKa wheels look on her, i've left the old curbed 14" out on the path with a 'free' sign on them. Y'know, for a 1.6i Zetec i'm rather impressed with her. Also fitted pleather seat covers, new genuine Ford mats today and gave her a good wash. Done around 350 miles this week. All filters, plugs, oil next week to change once service kit turns up. Is it better than a Puma? damn close. Better not let Punky hear me say that :D

Hi guys, today is some what a very sad day for me. I have just brought a new car :( this means once I have put cat back together I'm going to have to sell her. Just gauging any interest here, she's a 1.7 thunder I really want to make sure she go to a good home. I do not intend on leaving puma groups as I still love them but unfortunately life means I'm unable to own a puma for a while :( all will come clear in the next few months. If anyone is interested pm me I'm in saltash Cornwall. Looking probably around 350 and have just spent more than £500 on her with in the last two months... So hart broken

Ford Puma logo battery covers- 1 last batch!

So as most of you know earlier this year I had some custom made from scratch Puma logo battery covers made for approx 15 members.

Well I have just placed an order for 7 more due to various messages regarding them. They are made from stong flexible plastic and can be cut/painted to your preference by yourself.

If you would like one then please comment or pm me. Payment can be made Via paypal £42 delivered each and I will be dispatching them on saturday morning as they are arriving mid week and will be stuck at work.

New suspension? Decided to keep the Puma another year after test driving a mini, mg and mx5 and simply finding them not as fun or as practical (And I have owned all four over the years). Only issue I have is the roll and bumpy ride. Mine has only done 55k miles and is in good condition but I am getting tired of feeling I am on a rollercoaster going round bends. Any suggestions for upgrading the shocks, lower, firmer? Want to get all four done and have a more relaxed on the straight over pot holes but firmer around the corers ride..

Been enjoying Punky Puma again today cruising around the b-roads and single tracks. Kinda hard somedays when you getting gnawed at by the black dog of depression to even want to start working on a car. I'm glad i finally got around to fixing her after she and me was laid up for a couple of months. Think ECU has learnt her new set-up as she was feeling kinda frisky today, the injector clean obviously did some good. Started day by trying to get photo of her new ratten paint-job next to two Norwich police Fords but they drove off, cowards :D Put some more stickers on her and repainted some parts i wasn't happy with. Had some guy ask if i would paint his estate car. had a Polish guy call her a 'proper zombie car' -haha- And then a couple of randoms stopped and got talking about her. Treated her to a nice yellow Samsonite case for the boot too. Hopefully this time next weekend i'll be in Lydden Hill having enjoyed the UK round of the World RX series, anyone else going to be there? it's my birthday treat to myself ;)

Hi guys, wondering if you could help me figure something out. My car engine blew from overheating so I had to get a head gasket and cambelt kit done. New water pump thermostat too from the garage and it came to about £930. I had an oil leak which seems to have been fixed which appeared like it was coming from the camshaft sensor seal. Anyhow, its been about 3weeks since I had it back and i noticed the engine was quite hot and that the expansion tank seems to be losing fluid even though I just topped it. I was just driving it and noticed my exhaust was starting to smoke a little but it might of just been from where it has been raining but the thermostat started to go up past half way when i started to drive a little less conservatively and I have no idea what the problem could be. The expansion tank isn't empty but it isn't full either. Any ideas?

I'm selling Puma #0186 Millennium edition, amazing history file including original invoice for £16500. One wheel arch has rust, the other has tiny rust spot in lower corner. One owner to 2015, then I bought it and kept in garage. Full service history with all receipts as well as stamped service book, cambelt and full oil & all filters changed in Jan 2016. MOT in June but I'll put new one on this week so it has full 12 months. 119k miles but drives superbly and really is a credit to the original owner. Heated front screen, ice cold air conditioning and all 4 tyres have excellent tread.

I'll also get more photos loaded. Planned to keep long term but just been offered a Porsche 944 project that will need the garage space.

Punky had her operation today. Think it's safe to say that was the cause of the overheating :) Managed to remove pump without dropping the engine or removing the timing belt, total bitch of a job for sadists only but all good now. Took 6 hours, thanks to people stopping past to chat when i wanted to get on. System bled of air locks and taken out for a nice 20mile drive around the outer ring road, didn't wander too far from home just in case, Also was it national lets see how many patrol cars we can put on duty day? First drive out also since i fitted my Hoffman exhaust, FRP airbox and Audi fuel regulator combination, ECU was reset so it's learning the ropes again. Next job rear axle bushes..

                                          Decided to sell the Puma.

Got to the point now where I've had enough of tinkering with it and it's time to move onto something more practical.

I also have a mk 5 Fiesta Zetec S that's for sale and would considering selling them both if a serious offer was given.

It's a lightly modified 1.7 in Melina Blue with some minor cosmetic issues. NO scabby rear arches.

                                          MOT due 27/05/2016

Front and lower OMP strut braces fitted, silicone HT leads, silicone induction hose and RamAir induction filter.

16" OZ Racing alloys recently refurbished and powder coated in gloss white and fitted with Toyo Proxes TR1 tyres with less then 200 miles of use as a cost of £400.

                                          (One wheel slightly scuffed)

Recently fitted wishbones, top strut mounts, drop links and ARB's

New Mintex discs and pads with less than 200miles of use.

New Pagid rear shoes with less than 50miles of use.

Custom embroidered leather seats with Puma stitched into the front seats and blue stitching elsewhere.

Sparco deep-dish steering wheel and boss.

(airbag light flashes but I do have a resistor to be fitted)

Genuine Ford Racing Puma front splitter

                                          Mongoose cat-back stainless steel exhaust.

Sills have been done in the past.

The only known issue with the car is the rattling sound that comes from the front end.

I've changed a few thing as shown above and still cannot determine what it is. It was present when I bought the car and has left me baffled.

Other than that it's fine but that's my biased opinion I guess.

The graphics kit won't be to everyone's taste but this can be easily removed.

It also comes with a complete set of spare lights (headlights, rear lights and fogs) and other bits and bobs I have accumulated.

Car is located CH41 but could be delivered if not too far away.

So I think it might be time to let the Puma go. It's been a fun two years but I fancy a change and might be getting a good deal on a 2.0 Fiesta ST. I was wondering how much people think my Puma might be worth, I know they don't go for a lot but need to set a price. Details:

74,000 miles (20k of which are mine).

                                              W Reg 2000

                                              Air Con

                                              Heated Windscreen

Hoffman race tube and back box.

MOT until July (only advisories were rear break lines).

Has had new shocks on the front, new wishbones, new wheel bearings, ARB bushes, rear bushes (poly) new drop links, new TPS, new coil pack and leads, recent full service (by me), K&N Panel Filter.

                                              Drives like a dream.

Has been internally rust proofed on the arches.

Only bad points are a small 10p size rust bubble on the drivers rear arch which is solid just needs cleaning and painting. Also the passenger door has a crease in it from a shunt and run but it's purely cosmetic and only noticeable when looking. Tyres are all mismatched but with good tread. Usual stone chips here and there.

I am stripping my puma down to just a shell. I no a couple of you have love for Pumas but yours are very expensive to repair . And can't afford to sort it . My shell has 9 months mot and in good shape if you have a trailer for 100 pound you can have my shell then all you gotta do is put your parts on it. For this price you can be back on the road with a puma and it helps you guys out ideally only people who are unable to fix theirs and struggling to get the money together for their large repair bill I am located in Swindon . It's a silver thunder shell.

Just head new rear bushes and shocks And top mounts, bought as a stop gap and no longer required I did the bushes, rear springs shocks and top mounts all together, slight blow from exhaust when cold, great little runner looks fairly well looked after, one wing showing signs of rust, few panels scratched but could benefit with a good polish.

                                                  Mot December.

                                                      Ford Puma 1.7

Completely standard unmolested example showing the usual rust over the rear arches shown in the pictures.

Some other light scuffs which can also be seen.

Full leather (seats/door cards) in great condition.

Carpet looks almost new as do the embroidered mats which still have the clips in place and are intact.

Has probably the cleanest steering wheel I've seen in a Puma considering its at 103k.

Everything works as it should and doesn't knock or rattle when driven.

Major downside to the car is the clutch is on its way out.

It can be driven but if you want to drive it with intent you will notice quickly that it slips.

MOT runs out at the end of the month.

Currently taxed (as of yesterday, not showing yet online though)

Comes with all 3 original keys, V5c.

                                                      Offers will be considered

Okay so my puma is very poorly. Yesterday my temp gage was all over the place, so when i got home i checked the oil and water and everything seemed okay. Today on the way home from work (Hastings)!!! it Started with when i accelerated the car was over-revving by about 1500 rpm. Going up hill about 2 miles from home, I accelerated to 50 and it revved up past 7000rpm then A LOT of white smoke come out of the exhaust! It popped out of gear too and could just about get into 2nd!! I got home thank god but could barely get over 20mph without the revs going crazy. All the oil has leaked out and there was smoke coming from the engine bay, burning oil I guess? Anyone got any ideas?

My short guide for cleaning the Throttle Inlet. handy if you're suffering from sticky throttle, random stalls, rough idle or hesitation in 4th and 5th:

Items needed: Flat screwdriver, good quality carb cleaner with straw nozzle, hard bristled toothbrush.

                                                          1. Make sure the engine is stone cold, disconnect the battery, and then the air intake pipe from the throttle and the airbox/MAF using a flat screwdriver on the jubilee clips.

                                                          2. Spray the carb cleaner into the throttle, all around it until about half an inch of fluid has settled in the bottom. Don't worry if carb cleaner runs into the engine via the inlet, it's harmless and will be burned off soon enough,

                                                          3. Leave for a few minutes to soak and then using your hard bristled toothbrush, scrub as hard as you can all around the bottom and the top, the carb cleaner will start to form into a black paste (depending on how dirty the throttle is). Grab a rag and soak up the excess.

                                                          4. Drench the end of your toothbrush in carb cleaner and then leaver the butterfly open using the throttle spring on the right hand side of the throttle. Use the toothbrush to scrub underneath and behind where the butterfly rests (this is where it gets stuck). Do this on the top and the bottom repeatedly until you feel it is clean enough. You can tell by letting the butterfly close, waiting a few mins and then opening it again, if it still sticks then keep cleaning. Also clean the bottom edge of the butterfly itself while it's exposed.

                                                          5. Spray some more carb cleaner around the spring mechanism that tensions the throttle cable too then reassemble.

                                                          6. Wait one hour before reconnecting the battery.

Some things to not do: Don't use brake cleaner as some people suggest, it will clean but it evaporates and you have to use a lot of it and cannot scrub it in. NEVER spray carb cleaner on a warm engine and keep it away from the coil pack and inlet manifold where catches fire quite easily.

Don't use anything stronger than a toothbrush to clean the inlet.

                                                            hello everyone

                                                            hello everyone.

recently there has been allot of arguments and unhappiness with both puma pages. i understand and agree with some points from both sides.

sadly this morning i have spent the last 2 hours going through the page and deleting some of the rubbish that has been posted and have come to a conclusion.

if people want to post things not related to the friends group, then i suggest they add friends who they think might want to see such stuff and post these things directly to your own wall so `your` friends can all see the wonders you find online. i will not stand for bickering, i know people will always have different ideas. when this happens with me, i simply move on or scroll down. but it would seem not everyone can do this. so my solution is this:

if you need car parts for your puma. then ask on here. if you have parts for sale or offer for free, then also post here.

questions and ideas are also welcome.

i do not want to see screen shots of private messages publicly posed on the page. there is a reason its called a `private` message.

so from now on, i would like it if people would only post things related to their or their friends pumas.

i do understand that this `friends` group was put in place for people to post things none puma related as there were some complaints from the owners group members about such posts. but i feel i have to put some rules down as to what can be posted as things have been getting out of hand in the past week or two.

so from now, you may post 3 posts per day. if i or other admins feel its spam or not rite for the page, you will be `private` messaged and explained why its not rite for the page. and if people persist, then they will be deleted. i have allot better things to do on a sunday morning than go through e-mails of complaint and deleting silly posts.

if anyone has a problem with the above, there are 2 things that can be done. either you `private` message myself and tell me what you think or if you have ideas and/or suggestions. or you can leave the group. its as simple as that.

                                                                Date- sunday 7th February 2016

Pub actually opens at 12 midday

Location- The Hop Farm brewers fayre Pub. Brookers Oast TN12 6PY.

I have spoken to the pub and they can sort a big table out for us. I said we have 15 people approx wanting a seat, they told me to try and get a more definate number of people for this, so if you want a seat just say Yes please and how many people you want seats for so it is easy for me to add up numbers.

I will be ringing them later today to book the table.

I'm cultivating options and may sell some components for an ITBs (individual throttle bodies) setup that I have been planning.

Please note that most of these items are brand new and I'd be selling at the bought for price. This is not for the faint hearted, we're talking thousands of pounds here.

But a selection, not full list includes:

A bespoke gearbox (focus ib5 box, st150 internals, RST LSD)

Like I say, it's a snipped list of the main parts, it's no a sale post, just enquiry when I finally decide on which route, I'd like to know that the components can move on.

                                                                    Thoughts on your interest?

                                                                              Hi guys and gals,

Most people on here are aware of Forfair and ford fest and the huge ford shows,

There are also some other equally good shows that I've attended in either millie or my classic mini and sometimes both,

It was my very first car, i bought it at an auction for £65 in the late 80's and drove the bugger everywhere, it was a perfect teenage hoonigan machine. Some of the prices in the magazine are insane, £30 for a years insurance, £2.75 for a new set of disc pads! blimey.. if only they still were hey. :)
