    1967 Ford Galaxie convertible

FOR SALE --1967 FORD GALAXIE (Morrow, OH) $10K

My father Dave Shonkwiler is selling his 1967 Ford Galaxie convertible. It has a 390 with a C-6 both of which have been

rebuilt. The rear end is a 9" but has a 2;75 peg leg gear in it and has not been rebuilt. It has had extensive mechanical work done to it as you can see in some of the photographs. But I would still consider the car an "unfinished project". No cosmetic work was done and it will need some floor and trunk work. It has Foose wheels on it of staggered sizes I think there are 20"s on the back and 18"s on the front but not entirely sure. Suspension is all new. There is 3 times the money invested in the car than what my Dad is asking. First $10,000.00 will take this car. Thanks!

Thanks for the entry to your group. My Galaxie is not a hotrod, slick custom, nor is it the fastest at the drag strip, & some say it has two, two many doors.

But what she is to me, is vehicle packed with years of memories when my dad would load myself and my siblings into the backseat and off we would go. You see it was our family "good" car in our two car family. It was used for summer family trips, traveled to relatives homes for visits, even drivers tests taken with her. Most of all it with my dads, & even though he has passed, there is a certain fondness from this car that could never be duplicated.

I just spoke with the owner of the 1966 Custom 500 4dr that I tried to post off of CraigslistPhoenix last week and he told me the engine size is a 289 which I think is a challenger 289 with 200 hp and its a automatic with R12 A/C that is low on Freon and he was told it needs to be upgraded to 134a which is easy to do, as I recall all You have to do to change to 134a is drain and evacuate the system and maybe change the dryer then replace the fittings to 134a fittings and recharge the system and You are done. The owner of the car says he is negotiable on the price which he's asking $4200.00 and its a Arizona Car with No Rust and showing 46000 miles on the odometer and I think he is downsizing his collection of cars because He recently had a stroke. If any of You folks would be interested in this car, I would inspect it for You do a compression check, check the torque boxes for rust, and do a test drive and thorough walk around and take about 100 pictures. I was a reconditioning manager for many years in a dealership that sold in excess of 500 cars a month and I had to test drive each car or truck before being sold and they told me, I saved them goobs of money for being thorough. Anyway I am semi-retired and I enjoy doing the business of cars. If anybody on here was interested in this car, I would help negotiate the deal sparingly and pick You up at the airport so you could drive this car home. There would be no charge for me to help you get this good car. But this is a no rust at all Arizona car that could be bought for probably $3800.00 and its a driver. Just sayin' if anybody is interested.

On February 4, 2017, the 1966 Ford Full-Size Registry entered its 6,000th registered vehicle. While this total represents less than 1% of Ford’s total full-sized car production for the 1966 model year, it is a milestone for the registry and registry managers, Jeffrey Marunczak and myself, want to thank the worldwide Galaxie community for their participation.

Our milestone entry belongs to James Thomas of the United States, who has given permission to publicly post his car’s production codes and photos. Here is the as-built description of James’ 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 2-door hardtop:

The vehicle model is the Galaxie 500 2-door hardtop (198,532 produced). It was Ford number 48802 built at the Louisville, Kentucky assembly plant during the 1966 model year (first VIN was 100001). As built, the engine was a 289-2V Challenger V-8 (200 hp@4400 rpm, 282 ft-lbs@2400 rpm, 9.3:1 compression ratio), backed by the Toploader 3-speed manual transmission with column shift, and driving through a 3.00:1 non-locking differential. It was finished with the Raven Black exterior color, and the interior trim was bench seat with red "Venetian" pattern vinyl cushions and red "Crinkle" pattern vinyl bolsters and back. It had a scheduled build date of January 25, 1966, and the order was processed through the Atlanta, Georgia district sales office, which covered northern Georgia, eastern Tennessee and eastern Alabama.

Here are some pictures of the 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 4 door I bought in January. The cars interior is Sun Baked but is all there and under a quarter inch of dirt, what I like about this car is its unmolested, stock. What I do not know is how to ship the larger parts by freight or which companies are the best for shipping big parts like the hood, Fenders, doors, glass, bumpers, frame, roof et al? And where do You find boxes to ship it all plus long items like the rocker panels, bumpers, et al?

The bad it has all the outside emblems except the lower passenger front fender engine size emblem, and the grille and front right turn signal is damaged, but all the letters, chrome trim, bumpers, head light doors are all there. The left rear quarter panel is pushed in about a inch but the rear bumper is perfect and what ever hit it broke the taillight housing and lens, the drivers door mirror mounting base is broken but the mirror and remote is all good. This is a 390,2v, single exhaust, low compression engine Galaxie 500. A plain stock 4 Door with a auto trans, no a/c, manual drum brakes with the only options being the drivers door remote mirror, day night mirror, clock, am radio, and P/S. And no rust in the torque boxes, and no rust in anything just color tarnished.

1996 Ford CVPI, Unmarked, Ex-Federal Car

I'm listing this here first, before it goes to eBay. This car has been owned by a fellow member here for the last 9 years. It was purchased from the GSA back then and has been his daily driver up until this week. It has been maintained well (including an updated, replacement intake manifold) and is in pretty decent shape, though not perfect. It has factory carpeting, cloth front and rear seats, PW, PL, Cruise Control, etc. Loaded for a Police Interceptor. Medium Wedgewood Blue Clearcoat Metallic with Gray interior.

It has 157K miles on it and relatively new tires, brakes, etc. Some dings, scratches, clearcoat fade, a cracked windshield, and general wear in line with age and mileage. It is the original color and paint, aside from a few touch-ups. In his words; "It's been the best car I've ever owned and I would drive it anywhere."

It still has the red and blue grille lights installed that the Feds never removed. It also has a Cobra 19 CB radio installed. The interior is in pretty good shape with no major damage, and the headliner is nice.

I have not cleaned the car at all, the pictures are exactly as it was delivered to me a couple of days ago.

If you're looking for a decent '96 that won't break the bank, he must sell. I have the car here in Ohio. He drove it up from Atlanta a couple of days ago. Feel free to message me with any questions.

But if it does not do good on Ebay then I will part it out, what do You folks think I should do? Heres a picture of a non-cleaned stock engine compartment on my car.

I currently have 390. I've talked to a couple local friends and known shops. I'm not really too big on what I've been hearing about 390s. I've been told about 5-6k will only get me Bout 450-500hp. I'm debating on a build to do. I know for sure I'm getting aluminum heads and cam. I've been lookin into stroker kits as well, but not many carry them. Only site I've come across is survival motorsports. I'm thinking of going with the 431 or 445 I believe it is. I want power yet something not too crazy and can still be a daily if need be. A street monster daily. I'd hate to take originality from the car but in the back of my mind is also pondering saving 6k for a coyote swap. Thoughts comments concerns suggestions?

I have a 59 Galaxie 4 door I'm selling. All original. One owner. Still has the Chrome skirts.

This is a very solid car. Sat under a carport covered for about 30 years in Winter Park. Was bought by a Captain in the Air Force in 59. He was stationed at Langley AFB. Him and his wife moved to Florida in 66, brought the Galaxie with them.

Motor is free. Haven't bothered trying to start it. It is a project!

Spots that look like filler are factory work.

                                Price negotiable.

ADDED PICS OF WHEN IT WAS BOUGHT/FOUND

I'm a VERY busy person so I may not get back to you right away. Just bear with me please.

No Title and No Rust and the car has been stored for the last twenty years, it does still have the billet grille like a xl, luggage rack, the wood grain panels and they David at (602) 708 2658 suggested that someone should turn it into a derby car, he's asking $600.00 for the wagon. Apparently, the spring that controls the throttle return on my 1965 Galaxie 500 XL with FE 352 Auto BROKE while trying to start the car tonight. The throttle remained depressed and I had to physically lift the accelerator pedal back to it's full and upright position. I took the air cleaner off and saw that the spring (pictured) was connect only to one end. Thank God it did not happen while we were on the road, because that could have been catastrophic! QUESTION: What is the spring technically called (so I can get a replacement for it) and where does the broken end attach when it is a complete spring? I am pointing to the end that remained attached on the unbroken end. Thank you in advance from a Newbie. - Paul

Group Buy 1960 1964 Galaxie Ridetech Bolt On 4 Link

****Group Buy**** 1960-1964 Galaxie Ridetech Bolt On 4 Link

Curious to see if anyone would be interested in a Group Buy on Ridetech 1960-1964 Galaxie Bolt-On 4 link (PN 12167199) . I have been talking to a Ridetech dealer in regards to quantity and pricing. The standard price is $1400 for the 4 Link, but here is what he will do.

                                          Group Discount

                                          1-3 Buyers 10% off

                                          4-5 Buyers 15% off

                                          6-9 Buyers 16% off

                                          10 Buyers 17% off

Flat Rate Shipping $44.99 per unit

To complete the rear system you will need a set of coilovers or shockwaves which those prices vary by shock option. He will be glad to help each customer decide what is best for your application.

If you are like me, I don't have the time or money to reinvent the wheel. This part has already been engineered to work for the Galaxie and the biggest hurdle was the price. Hopefully we can all get together and change that. I am enclosing a few links that will help with any questions you may have. I am in no way a Ridetech salesman, just a guy trying to get good parts at a better price. I am planning on putting this on as many places I can think of because the more people who buy, they better price we all get.

Hi all. I am in need of the following parts

Hi all! I am in need of the following parts:

1960 Full Size Ford manual steering parts. To convert from power to manual. So that would be the drag link and the idler arm mount (have a new manual idler arm). I guess the pitman arm as well.

Passenger inner fender well - 60 Full Size. Rust and dent free.

Any 60 Country Sedan side trim and rocker moldings

1960 Full Size electric windshield wiper set up.

V8 stick shift accelerator linkage (really what bolts to the fire wall)

Thanks! Im located in Pittsburgh and have many parts I could trade or cash. Most of my parts are 63, 64 and 66 2 door trim. I also have many FE parts. Will be at Carlisle if you can trade or sell there. Otherwise, I can pay shipping or drive. This is kind of in need rather quickly due to some deadlines on my car

I really need some help here.....I have been trying to find an accelerator cable for my 67 Galaxie 390 4bbl that has an Edelbrock intake and carb on it. I was told that part number C5AZ-9A758-N would work, but it is too short by about an inch so that it will not clamp into the bracket on the back of the intake. I was also told that some have used a Lokar cable.....which I just got off the line with their tech support and they do not have a cable that has the correct gas pedal connector. If someone can shed some light on this for me and perhaps let me know what part number they used, I would appreciate it greatly.

Adrian M. Clements shared his post to the group: FORD Galaxie.

Yesterday, I unexpectedly received the 1st picture below from the friend of a friend. It shows our 1967 Ford Country Squire DFRS (Dual-Facing Rear Seats) 4-door station wagon with the Q-code "428 Thunderbird 7-Litre V-8" (428-4V) 345 hp engine, Toploader 4-speed manual transmission, and XL buckets seats and console at the Super '60's Ford Club meet in Independence, Ohio on Sunday, June 28, 1981.

James Lewis bought this car in early 1977 from the original owner Vincent Bolling, Jr., so this picture from late June 1981 was just over 4 years into Jim’s ownership.

According to the title (2nd picture) dated March 3, 1977 that I got from Jim when I bought the car on September 9, 2001, the GRN-108 plate shown on the car in the 1st picture stayed on the car through 1985. For the 1986 calendar year, the plates changed to 793-FXM, and these plates were on the car when I first looked at it in August 2001 (3rd and 4th pictures).

Comparing the appearance of the car in the 1st photograph with the way the car looked when I bought it 20 years laters (3rd and 4th pictures), it’s astounding to see how the condition of the car deteriorated. That’s what outdoor staorage in Ohio will do to an old car!

The 5th and 6th pictures show what the car looked like once I got it cleaned up and running.

The astute among you will notice that the VIN of "7U74C143183" shown on the title (2nd picture) is incorrect, as this car's actual VIN is "7U74Q143183", as shown on the door data plate and the Marti Report (7th & 8th pictures). I was successful in getting the Michigan Secretary of State to issue a title with the correct VIN of "7U74Q143183".
