I replaced the front driver s side window regulator a month ago with a Dorman...

I replaced the front driver's side window regulator a month ago with a Dorman aftermarket one. It mostly fit (bulges out the inside door handle a little but other people had this problem, too) and fixed my issue. But now I'm hearing a bit of a "thunk" sound every time I roll up my window. As if the window could be re-seating itself into the clips.

The Expedition uses these little clips (pic below) that attach to the regulator. The window seats itself inside of them and is held in with window adhesive (I used 3M Window-Weld), instead of the much better option of having the window have holes that bolt to the regulator securely.

Do you think the glue isn't on there strong enough and it's re-seating itself? Or is it possible that this aftermarket part has already started to fail and getting off track?

I know I know (delete if not aloud ) but once again no help from the Chevy groups. (Will post a pic of my expedition, because it's a Ford) judging but the only cylinder filled with water , and the plug if I got a bad head or head gasket?...... I ran it for a min without the plug and disconnected the fuel injector, then put a bore scope down in the cylinder gain and (that's the video) it looks wet .......

Now here's I kicker , if I let it idle it will never heat up ( and I let it run at idle for 4 hours ) I can drive around for hours and it won't over heat . But sometime it will over heat in about ten miles ) I am losing coolant but heater core is good and no leaks on the ground, this is the last time I bother you guys with this turd of a Chevy ,

        My friend Lori Broussard need help with her 1999 ford expedition xlt 4x4 5.4L v8 202k miles on it. It wont start and need new battery. I need a help with what kind best battery for this car. I dont know anything about the battery fit in the expedition so dont want to mess it up. If putting the new battery in and if it wont start then it will be something else electronic... maybe i just leave it unplug for 10 mins or more to let it reseting itself system to get it start again

        Any one know what kind battery for this truck. Be very appreciative of your help!!

          I m having a weird problem that I m wondering if anyone else has had

          I'm having a weird problem that I'm wondering if anyone else has had.

          On an 04, none of the windows were rolling up or down from the driver's side door, and some weren't even working from their own doors. So I ordered a new driver's side window cluster and installed it, but it was super cheap and flimsy, and it wouldn't roll the driver's side rear window up (rolled it down fine).

          So I took the OEM window control cluster out & took it apart, cleaned it with rubbing alcohol (it was filthy), and put it back. Worked perfectly, except the driver's side rear window still wouldn't roll up. It rolls down, just like before. It rolls up and down from it's own door, too, so I know it's not the motor.

          When I try to roll that window up from the driver's side, my lights go dim and the engine sounds like it's under stress. I also have been told I have an electrical issue with the car after I got my oil change done at WalMart (I know, I know...), but a guy at AutoZone said I had that issue too, but the battery is solid.

          Anybody have any ideas? I'm stumped.

            Hey guys anyone familiar with these 2 very specific issues, my cousin just picked up a little 1998 expedition 4.6 xlt model. It has 165k miles things a beast for its age and mileage. Recently swapped the windshield due to leak and destroying Gem module.

            1. When making a left hand turn or hitting the brake to a near dead stop and hitting the gas the vehicle bogs down almost to the point of shutting off as if it were running out of gas.... My first guess would be fuel filter

            2. His ac is not blowing cold and the zoning seems to be having issues. Can not control the front and or rear. Compressor seems to be turning when ac is put on and we recently attempted to put freon. Didn't fix the issue... first guess is the heater core?

              Well, guys, I messed up. Hatched the 4v 5.4L InTech in my 01 Navigator towing my Jeep on a big trailer (probably 10k lbs or a little more). I guess the rear main went, and as soon as the oil was low enough in the sump for pressure to drop and show on the gauge, rod bearings and possibly mains were already mainly gone. Dropped the load, tried starting it, and the way it cranked it acted like it was hydrolocked. So I'm pretty sure I spun a few bearings at least, if not wiped cam lobes too. Anyone have suggestions on where to go from here? Build it, rebuild it, replace or scrap it? It's an 01 with 130k on the clock and a very strong trans, so the replace sounds best, but that's gonna be a pocket full of cash I don't have assuming I can even find that rare InTech 4v. Also, anyone know whether pulling it is a non-body off option, or if I'm in for a world of fun if I do decide to pull and rebuild/replace it? Because if it's stupid hard to pull that engine, I'm gonna make sure I do it once and just build the current block, so I don't ever have to worry about pulling it again.

                Hi there, remember i was talking about the upgrading the roof rack for first generation Ford Expedition, like I did on my old 02" tan ford expedition xlt 4.6L 4x4 with lots of chromey exterior, as i got the chrome roof rack from The first generation Lincoln navigatior too,

                I also happened to same thing on my old other 98" Silver Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited ZJ 5.2L that i did upgrade the roof rack on my silver 98" jeep grand cherokee limited 5.2L 4x4 that i removed the bored stock roof rail luggage and got the nice 5.9 verison upgrade roof rack for only 5.9L grand cherokee, so i remove the roof rack off from the 5.9 from the Auto Wreak Collision shop in next door to pick n pull scarpyard, in sparks NV. Cost me around 65 buck for "roof rack luggage" but on ford expedition with chrome roof rack came from the pick n pull and got it for less 40 buck.

                Now I have a 06 Jeep Commander base 4.7L 4x4 that have one side of broken peice of roof rack rail and two missing roof rack bar, so I went to pick n pull but they didnt have any Commander in their lots. So i went to next door to Auto Wreak shop that has lots newer model american cars, chrysler, dodge, jeeps ford, and gmc and chevy and pontiac, and hummer, and etc... non american will go to Pick n pull. I just found a REALLY RARELY nice 08" VW Phaeton with W12 engine in pick n pull lot in Reno NV? I was alike and my roommate was stocked and want this car badly because this car is very expensive! AND NO ONE HAS PART OUT yet, because no one has that kind car!!! damage and fire damage in rear. We looked up for other phaeton W12 for sale cost over $20k. So this one got pretty nice one and got really bad fucked up. Someone destroy over $60k a german car badly? Geez! So anyway. I went to auto Wreak shop and found few commander up there. So i went up and saw other nice dark green Jeep commander limited 5.7L HEMI 4x4 with nice chrome roof rack luggage with the bar and the handler for rear top of taillight so bought the nice chrome Roof rack rail and bars and floors mats and it's third time i have done it each of different car!

                JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE ZJ has 2 different roof rack look, Ford expedition has Lincoln navigatior roof rack, and now my Commander has 2 different roof rack opition with black cheap plastic roof rack or the real chrome roof rack from the Limited or Overland edition. Cant wait to install it up on my jeep and make my commander look more upgrade again! Than seeing other twin jeep again! Hahaha

                I know im kind of weirdo of doing something new and upgrade my jeep and other car i had in past.

                    I'm still a Ford girl. My Husband found an 04 Eddie Bauer Expedition, 4X4, tow and entertainment package at a local auction. At $1,250 and sold for $4,750, but the front bumper had been replaced. Instead, I got this land yacht for way less. 5cyl turbo diesel.

                    Still holding out for that 5.4L F-150 red style side extra cab 4X4 with the tow package. I'll be selling a BMW soon. It's been taking up space for a year.

                    I'm anxious to learn to work on diesels. Drove it home. It needs a tune up, valve adjustment and some suspension bushings. 1982 300SD.

                      So i took my baby in to get the DVD players looked at because they where acting funny. This was on Wednesday. The service guy had told me I needed 3 new tires which we already knew and had plans to go to discount tire to get them changed out. Well he convinced me to get them there and sold me on a brand, told me I had to do all 4 if I chose this brand and would also get a $110 mail in rebate. And would also discount my alignment ( which he claimed I also needed) to $60 ,so total I would be paying $638 and some change for 4 new tires and an alignment. I said yes cause it was a good deal!


                      I went to pick up my car today.... they where trying to charge me $1300 for the tires alone! And they only put that 3 where changed. $139 for the alignment. So naturally I'm pissed. Well they get that figured out. But here's the kicker they pull up my car and guess what... NOTHING WAS DONE TO THE DAMN CAR!!! OLD TIRES WHERE STILL ON. DVD PLAYERS WHERE STILL BROKEN. NOTHING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WAS DONE.

                      Stunned just stunned. Managers got involved and word where exchanged, but what the fuck?! Never in my life had I experienced such shitty CS. Had I not paid attention I would have paid gotten in my car and went home.

                        I strongly suggest that anyone with a first or second gen pulls out the driver kick panel and checks the floor under it. There is a plug in the floor and they are prone to rotting right there. I checked a dozen navs f150s and expeditions today and every one was rotted. There are 3 plugs under the kick panel and they get corroded. It was the cause of my driver's window going down by itself. I was able to save the big plug but the one under it is for 4x4 and I have a wire corroded right off the plug. So that explains why I am having issues with my 4x4. New plug will be getting installed this weekend

                          So the Expy I have is from a buy here pay here type of place They re a real...

                          So the Expy I have is from a buy-here-pay-here type of place. They're a real shady, run-down looking business and I forgot to make a payment after many on-time payments, and literally within the week without notice they come and repo it.

                          So for a day they wouldn't let me have my car back even after catching up on payments (literally one payment) until I got a hold of my attorney and they got a hold of them. These guys don't know their ass from their elbows when it comes to cars - they couldn't get the power windows to work when all they literally had to do was clean the connectors on the driver's side window module; they tried replacing the motor. That kind of incompetence.

                          So I get my car back and the air bag sensor light is on - it wasn't before they took it. Front air bag sensor malfunction blink code. I open my hood and they've left a pump wrench in the engine bay.

                          These people have given me nothing but problems. I'm wondering if they've potentially sabotaged the car or purposely messed with the sensor. For any of you who have experience with mechanics screwing you over and decided to sue, do you think is this enough grounds for litigation?

I get there the Asian guy tells me any lights I said no. So he gets his scanner and says you can not pass it . I'm like why he says you have p0455 code see shows me his scanner . And I'm like b.s I just checked it like 2 minutes ago . He says you have a major leak in your gas tank . And I'm like . Whatttt. He checks the gas cap and says seems tight . I don't know why.                                 Okay boys and girls rookie question bare with me please. On my 2002 expy EB Edition , I am getting ready to change out the suspension in the rear. The previous owner took the airbag system out and replaced it with springs and shocks. I have noticed that the rear end is starting to sag. The springs and shocks in the rear are separate if I am correct, I took a peek up underneath there and it looks like the shock goes at an angle towards the front and the spring go straight up and down over the rear axle. Does this sound correct or am I way off?

                                  I noticed something odd on my expedition, I'm thinking it's the fuel pump, so here it goes,

                                  I was coming out of the community where I live and there is a slight incline where I exit as I started to accelerate, the truck felt like it was going to stall, the rpms when almost down to 0 but pushed more into the throttle and ran fine all the way to work

                                  My fuel gauge is in the middle between the red and 1/4 empty. (So "low fuel" light is not on yet)

                                  It's the second or third time that has happened to me. Is the fuel pump faulty or not positioned correctly? What could it be? The fuel pump was replaced 2 years ago and started happening since I got it replaced.

                                    I did a quick search and didn't really find anything definitive so I'm asking a very over asked question to get a more solid answer.

                                    Just started yesterday but my 03 5.4 139k miles expy started shuddering real bad while driving and under a moderate to heavy load.

                                    My experience tells me it's just a spark plug(s) and to get them swapped out. Hooray for normal plugs.

                                    Ive always been a huge fan of NGK plugs. But the Motorcraft plugs have probably never been changed.

                                    So what plugs and any tips for testing/checking coils to see if they also need to be changed out.

                                    I have no gear about the rear plugs. I've been a mechanic for 16 years and have every tool I should ever need lol but those tips to make the job easier are always appreciated.

Highest I can find is a 3 inch spacer lift and I feel like thats gonna throw my whole suspension out of wack and I'll regret it pretty quick. Now I have an idea. I have full access to a short bed f250 with straight axles leaf spring suspension and transfer case, ECT... For free! Anybody ever swapped a complete suspension like this before?? I'm considering it and I have the skill to Fab mounts, and weld what I need just wondering what you guys think I know ill probably need custom drive shafts but anything else?

Had to get into the binders really hard to get stopped myself before I T-bone her right... I was at speed when all this when down... Literally got stopped with inches to spare... I didn't hit her so that's a plus... BUT now my steering wheel is cocked to the right hard core... If I try to pull straight I go left hard as fuck... I should have just hit the bitch....                                             I'm literally crying. Got the call from the dealership.... Tank got towed in last night after being inoperable for the past 3weeks. The oil filter housing that the"mechanic" transferred from the old motor to the new one is pissing oil everywhere. 2qts low on a 15mile drive last time it was driven.... it's going to cost us aroud $800 to fix, so I gave the authorization to Crouse Ford in Taneytown, MD to do the work, because doing it at home is not possible right now with work schedules and everything else. This is just the worst news....today has been crappy as hell and this is the straw that broke the camels back for me :'(

                                              So this is how it went down I got the intake done my wife started the car it turned over twice and it sounded like the motor is locked up I checked and turned my hand and it was good checked my starter and it was shot that started took me 6 hours to get that last balls out it was hellacious i put it back together and the intake vacuum line that goes to the brake booster must be king because I have no brakes I'm about to pull the intake back out again so I can get it done any pointers will be highly appreciated

I have a 2004 Chevy trailblazer 152,000 miles she runs and drives fine, trans shifts great , nice and smooth, but when you are going down the freeway and floor it it will down shift but will not accelerate, unless I let off the throttle a little bit , if any of this makes sense, and can delete if want me too , only check engine light I have is for a cooling fan stuck on, and lean in bank 1 thanks for you time

                                                    If my truck does not start a kind of turns halfway does it mean the engine is done or the transmission is done I can find the problem all these dumb ass mechanics don't know what they're talking about and I need to find what the problem is so I start my key and it kind of trying to start but then it hesitates and it drains the battery completely after the second try now last time I had a car my tranny went out and my engine wouldn't turn apparently a mechanic took a look at my engine trying to turn it by hand and apparently was seized which I don't understand that cuz last time they told me it was the same thing and it was seized but it was just a transmission that it was bad how can I find out what's the problem thanks

                                                      I really noticed it when I was towing at first, pulling a long hill in 2nd the engine seems to hit a wall at 4,000 RPM. Today while driving and not towing I noticed the same thing. It revs a bit higher in 1st with the pedal to the floor.

                                                      I remember my 01 5.4 would rev to the moon, but the 03 just seems to top off at 4,000 rpms.

                                                      Anyone have the same issue or had it and know what it could be? The fuel filter,plugs and coils are new.

                                                      I may have to hook my HP Tuner to it and see what's going on..

                                                        First thing I'm looking for is info if anyone has successfully lifted this. Im not looking for a leveling kit but an actual 6"-8" lift. Body or suspension. Any points in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.

                                                        Next. I am putting a muffler on it this weekend. The question is should I go with a Flowmaster 40 series or a Flowmaster 50 series?

                                                        Finally. I installed an after market stereo. I was wondering if there was a built in microphone on the visor. And if so is it possible to hook up to the aftermarket stereo and use with my phone?

                                                          Went in to replace bearing, rotor seized to it, thats ok. Replaces the rotor with a new premium $200 one without even calling to let us know the old one broke, and threatened to impound it if we didnt pay. Did just the rotor too, no pads and left the other side alone!!!

                                                          Is that even safe?

                                                          The brakes are due for replacement this summer, so how bad is one new rotor going to be with the old pads and rotors the rest of the way around?

                                                          Is any of that even legal in Canada??

                                                            Just did rear shocks on the expedition non air Wasn t a bad job you don t need...

                                                            Just did rear shocks on the expedition, non air. Wasn't a bad job, you don't need a jack and all that. Just back it up on some oil change ramps. Drivers side is a bitch, forewarning. Top bolt is hard to get to, but if you use enough extensions you can go over the gas tank and get it out. And the little clips that hold the nut for the shock bolt will just fall out when you take the shock off, what I did to get them to stay in for reinstallation was cake them up with lithium grease and put them in place and the grease held them in.

                                                            Did not use a jack to lift rear end to get the shocks in the lower bracket, just used some muscle and pushed the shock up and yanked it into place. If you're small and scrawny, I wouldn't recommend that method lol my way, all you need is a 18mm wrench and socket, ratchet and some extensions and oil change ramps.

                                                              I am planning to do a big trip from Asia to Africa with my Turuk Mak tao ‎‎(2007 Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer 5.4 L) . Basically in a couple of ‎month (during summer time) I will be driving from Saudi Arabia to ‎Sudan crossing the red sea with a ferry and it is about 1600 mile from ‎Riyadh up to my Town in Northern Sudan. I mange to change the tires, ‎spark blugs, engine belt, beside some other minor maintenance. So any ‎advice for my vehicle before I do my big journey? Do I need to make ‎any specific maintenance for my engine? Also I have to come with same ‎rout back to Saudi Arabia. ‎

                                                                So here's the deal,I've had my coil spacers and level keys for awhile now and finally got around to installing them today...I've done this before,many times on various vehicles,so I've soaking the ends of the torsion bars in penetrating fluid for the last week now..been spraying them down 2-3 times a day in between driving and being parked..the sons a b $#%@×s will not budge!! Only other option I can forsee at this point is to cut the torsion bars and hammer out or press out the end in the control arms and get new torsion bars......who else has fought this battle and came out smelling pretty?

                                                                    Any one have special kind VCR system before the ford built the stock VCR system in after 2000... anyone have that in your first generation? Anyone have that experience of VCR system in 3rd row seat make it unsafe for middle of 3rd row seat passenger for roll over crash... and more crowd and struggle to keep your head down off the VCR system, and driver can't see the view while the VCR system on the ceiling Is blocking the view while backing up or driving.

                                                                    Anyone have that experience? Please post on here if you got one of those like my friend has on her 99" ford expedition

                                                                      Helping out my friend, Cleaning and steaming cleaner, vacuumed, car wash on my friend Lori Broussard's her 1999" 5.4L expedition either I cleaned all door inside of panel, and body with black or dust off on everything... to make it look clean again! Love that kind bright mint green color! That model color is very rare to find them for only 1998 to 2000... then that color become dispear gone...

                                                                      It look a lot cleaner than before it used to be dirty! Over 2 years with no clean... so they are happy with their expedition is clean!

                                                                      Last bottom picture with VCR Player and TV monitor. The ford expedition haven't that VCR system with TV monitor until it came out in 2000... not on 1997 to 1999... but some of them have different kind of VCR. I thought the VCR suspoused go to in the Center console, (Oh Right, I forgot that front seat has 3rd seat in middle, no center console with armrest... so no room to put that VCR on center console, so the VCR system goes on the 3rd row ceiling, and make it hard for someone to sit on middle of 3rd row seat, and either came with nice Wood Dash kit and TV Monitor when the SUV were new in back then... and they have almost never tried or test it if it work or not... since today that we don't have any more VCR movie anymore... but can change the VCR out of it and put the DVD player system would work? Or not? It seems to me that it only works when the VCR system is on then the monitor will come on.

                                                                      I had seen one VCR system on Ebay for nearly 100 buck... that I was afriad of to order those factory TV monitor and VCR system installed in my old 2002 ford expedition 4.6L but I decide to save money to not buy it then do harness with wiring and installing is pain of ass...

                                                                          I have an issue with my rear passenger door everytime I lock or unlock my...

                                                                          I have an issue with my rear passenger door...everytime I lock or unlock my doors with the powerlock button that specific door never locks or unlocks...I have to manually do it all the time...I've heard multiple cases of people having the same issue with that specific door...any suggestions?

                                                                          I also have an issue that when I open any door my door ajar light dont come on or neither do my dome lights...I already checked my fuses and rolled the dimmer switch all the way up before it clicks and nothing...also my auto headlamps don't kick on when it gets dark...i have to manually turn on my lights

                                                                            So as I mentioned in another post I passed the 330 000 mile mark I have been...

                                                                            So as I mentioned in another post, I passed the 330,000 mile mark. I have been smelling antifreeze on occasion for a few months, but have been unable to locate it's source. I really smelled it today so a failure is definitely imminent. I don't really care what it is as long as it's not a head gasket lol. No puddles so it might be a slow drip from the head on the manifold.

                                                                            Not really looking for suggestions, though I appreciate any given. I've reached the point in my life where sometimes it's better to just wait for it to break to find it (unless it's a suspension, brake, tire, timing chain, axle, differential....you get my point...kind of issue).

                                                                            Aquila Richardson, what's your mileage now? I think I've almost caught up to you lol. Running a small business has a way of piling on the miles fast, good thing we get that fat deduction at the end of the year.

                                                                                  I know this has been discussed a lot I have searched & searched but I can't seem to find a completely CLEAR ANSWER. Can an 03 Harley supercharged motor fit an 2006 expedition. I have read how people are buying parts & pieces and installing them but I haven't read anything about completely swapping. HERE'S WHY My brother recently got t-boned (2003 Harley Davidson f150 with upgrades) I need to know if I can swap this engine/tranny (and all the other necessary parts) directly into my 2006 Expedition King Ranch. Why Swap entire setup and not just needed parts? because my Expedition has been sitting for 6 months with a blow engine. I have found many parts list & I will have every part if I get the truck from him, just need to know if it will drop straight in. Thx in advance

                                                                                    Want to either put the cab from my F150 onto my spare expo frame, or swap motors from the expo to the f150.. if I already gotta pull the bodies to get to the motors, or so I've read it's way easier, why not just gut and swap? The Expo has been thru MUCH MUCH less abuse, but there is no possibility of titling it so it's worthless as it sits.. the intended goal is going to be used for nothing else other than 4x fun and dump use, so I want the truck cab and modify the bed for sure.. what say you? Any thoughts, suggestions? Also have to do a head swap so I'm looking at easier access for me personally to do the swap in the frame while the bodies are off.. too much work for a disabled man? Thinking of using steel tubing and belted rubber industrial conveyor belting to make a DIY body lift and bushings, mini spools front and rear.. disability budget in mind of course.. 97 f150 cab onto a 98 expo frame, shortened bed, 4" body lift, how much work can it be?

                                                                                      I can't get my 2000 5.4 to pass smog.. put it on the machine and one 9f the monitors won't turn on to pass.. just changed the catalytic converters cause the machine was saying that was what was not making monitor come on.... after changing them the monitor still won't come on so it will pass... I'm lost at what else it could be... I cant give up on my girl she has a new transmission, new radiator, new manifold, new cvs axes.... I have put together much money for her to be put down.. but if she don't pass smog I can't get her tagged... frustrated! Anyone have any suggestions

                                                                                          Bought a 98 navigator, it had a used motor put in last yr. The girl said the mechanic told her it needed an alternator. We bought a battery for it cause the one she had was dead and bad. Well it started up fine. We replaced a 175 fuse on the firewall and drove 60 miles home. Now we did NOT replace the alternator. We took it to advanced and tested the alternator and it was fine. So we only bought a battery and the fuse that goes to the alternator. Well we get it home and now its killing every battery 2/2 we've put in it, but when we put the batteries on charge theyre showing 14. So we changed out the cables and it still acts like its dead. We've chased wires and all seem fine. Even checked fuses. Any ideas of of what we need to check?

                                                                                              So on my weekend trip (300 miles round trip) my truck did great for 280 of them. I was on the way home and hit a new milestone 147k. When I was almost home I felt a loss of power and the CEL came on... I didn't have my scanner on me because I leave the new one home after the old one went missing from my truck one day. So I baby it home no real issues except it had no power on the up hills so I was that guy doing 45 on the highway (at least I was in the right lane) so I get home and hook up my scanner to find 2 misfire codes cyl 2 and cyl 8. Its a 97 4.6 with the 2 coil packs up front. If I'm not mistaken both those cylinders are on the same coil pack is that correct?

                                                                                                I've been a member for a while, but this is my first post of my Expedition. Bought this one last year, a 2001 XLT 5.4 liter, 3rd row leather with ControlTrack 4 wheel drive, No Boundries edition Black ('01-'02 only for 1st gen). This is my first Expedition and because I've always liked the 1st gens design, I looked for a while until I found this one for sale. After owning and driving it for a year, I must say and admit; I love this vehicle and my kids love it too. There's very few vehicles that I can say that about and this one is one of them. I currently own a '98 Mustang GT, 5 speed, so I've been a Ford fan for a good while. I know now why Expeditions are such good sellers for Ford, I am a fan of this one for sure.

                                                                                                    I have decided on doing the suspension swap but I need some confirmations based on your experiences.

                                                                                                    First off I have an 08 EL with 4WD. I noticed a while back that over bumps that back would really bounce. If I was on a long sweeping turn at speed and I hit a decent pot hole the expedition would get really squirrely on me. Almost like a jump and side to side wallow if that's a thing? Also, I recently went on a short 4 day cruise and when I returned I noticed the back end squatting a bit to where both rear fenders were at the same height of the top of the tires. Within a minute of turning the truck on, the compressor cut on and up they went. So now I started to consider if both rear bags had a leak or if the solenoids were releasing air or if maybe our hot/cold weather had to do with the deflation?

                                                                                                    Regardless, Initially I wanted to keep the bags but after reading of the issues users were experiencing and considering my ride is almost 10 years old the other components may soon start to fail as well.

                                                                                                    There are actually several choices to choose from but these seem to fit my application. If you have a better recommendation I am all ears. I believe the springs currently up front should still be good even if they have 180K miles on them, they looks very heavy duty lol.

                                                                                                    I am also considering placing spacers for a bit of a lift while I do this. 3in up front and 2in or maybe 2.5in in the back.

                                                                                                    I really like the level look but I am concerned If I load up the family and a couple of suitcases in the back if it will look like its rear is sagging? If this really is a non issue per your experiences than the 2in spacer in the rear would do.

                                                                                                    I have yet to decide on what spacers to buy.

                                                                                                    Any input would be appreciated with regards to this setup I'm trying to accomplish.

Have an oil pan question about a Chevy 5.3... A relative of mine has a 2002 Suburban 1500 with the 5.3, 4x4... A local garage charged her $1,472 to replace the oil pan. $825 of that was Labor... can any Chevy owners or mechanics chime in... if that sounds accurate or if it was way too much? I feel like she got ripped off because this Suburban is in great shape and runs perfect. She took it in there to get the brakes looked at, and they told her this work needed to be done.... I don't even think her oil pan was bad as it barely leaked any oil. But it was done and paid for... thanks.

                                                                                                        I have a 2005 lincoln navigator 5.4 liter 4x4 with the zf 6 speed transmission.

                                                                                                        My question is i want to change the fluid in the transmission , do you guys recommend just dropping the pan and emptying out the 5 quarts or whatever comes out and then replacing the 5 quarts with new .

                                                                                                        Or do you guys recommend getting the transmission completely flushed . It does have 240,000 miles and i did by it used and im not sure if the fluid was ever changed also there is no way of checking the fluid because there is no dip stick .

                                                                                                        The reason im asking is because i have read online and some people dont recommend just changing the fluid becuase you are putting like 5 new quarts in with 10 old quarts so you still have the old fluid in the transmission.

                                                                                                        But then some people dont recommend flushing the transmissiom because they say if there is any debris or metal shavings that are settled in the transmission when you flush it , it can stir thoese debris up and they can get stuck in the components of the transmission .

                                                                                                        What should i do , i have been holding off on my transmission service because this deacision is driving me crazy lol !

                                                                                                          Anyone near Ohio looking for a project I'm close to Dayton Ohio have a 99 Eddie Bauer 4x4 5.4 engine 193k 3rd row I bought the way it is was going to fix it but I have too many other projects the guy I bought it from said he was driving it and just shut off like you turn the key off he tried to start it and it seems engine stuck it's full of oil so I'm pretty sure the timing chain busted or it came off and the valves are not opening to the release pressure to spin it over I have not pulled plugs I started to take off some stuff to get to the timing cover but never did didn't make it that far all the parts I have removed come with it I'm pretty sure it is not locked up besides valve not opening releasing pressure because you can keep clicking the key and it will bump the engine equally all the way around about an eighth of an inch each time and it does not get easier or harder I put a socket on the crank try to turn it with breaker bar and it does not want to move with that so it's not the starter so I'm just going to sell it the way it is it has one bald tire the rest are decent the Rockers are rusted out like they all are there's a rough spot on the back passenger door in the sunroof does not open I think it's off track has a clean Ohio Title in my name $800 cash

                                                                                                            So I have suspected for sometime now that my wife has been seeing some man on the side. The usual red flags are there, She hides her phone screen, new underwear all the time and goes out with "the girls". I try to stay awake to look out for her when she comes home but I usually fall asleep.

                                                                                                            Anyways...last night around midnight I hid under my Expedition waiting for her to come home. When she got to the house, she got out of someone's car while buttoning her shirt back up, then took her panties out of her purse and slipped them on.

                                                                                                            It was at that moment while I was crouched behind my Expedition that I noticed a hairline crack in the rear shock mounting bracket. Is that something I can weld or do i need to replace the whole bracket. If I can weld it does someone have a welder I can borrow?

The truck it self shows 269000 on the title in 2015. The truck now shows 216500 on the odomter. I guess they took the dash out of the vehicle the motor it came from. Ok now i live in Kentucky. Will they give trouble over the mileage not being over 269000? Ive already paid her and shes signed the title. I have the truck in my possession but it wasnt done in front of a notary and we're going tomorrow to meet her to transfer. This truck has been a headache already!

Is there a bumper like this that would fit on an 06 Eddie Bauer without the rest of the modifications? I am trying to find a bull bar with winch plate for my son for his BD. I do NOT want to spend $600, prefer to stay below $300 which for just the bar I'm finding them for only $100. I already bought him the 12,000lb winch, but a bumper similar to this would work as well, but I don;t want to put a boat load of money into all the mods. I know he would love the whole raptor type conversion, but I just want something that would look really good and be tough as well. It's not just for looks, it will be put through all kinds of tests but it still needs to look good. He does already have a 3" lift so he has a little extra height and he doesn't like the old style brush guards that go over the head lights

                                                                                                                      Purchased '07 in January of 2015. Road trip of about 3k miles in August of 2015 ended up with a new motor. Fast forward to Aug 2016. In and out due to cam sensor. Fixed it. In and out of the shop a couple of times. (Shop at dealer we purchased it from) November 8 it goes back. Needs another new motor. Because of the holidays and issues with the motor people it was January before we got it back. Had it 48 hrs. Back to the shop. Lean bank 1 code. We get it back. 48 hrs again. No code, but then they fix a part in the intake manifold. We have it 24 hrs and now it's P302 soft code. The original was P304. It's now been 4 months. Total of about 6-7 months, we have only owned it 26 months. I LOVE my car. Trading it is not an option. Any ideas of what the heck is wrong. Besides incompetent mechanics.

                                                                                                                        This happened last year. I'm just sharing this in case you have an electrical problem. Again this is from last year. 99 Eddie Bauer 5.4. Here it goes...

                                                                                                                        While he was driving down the highway, all of a sudden everything shuts down. We safely pulled over onto the shoulder. On this first picture here, the gauges are frozen in place. We tried starting it up, no clicks, no lights, no nothing. Just zippo!

                                                                                                                        We towed it home. We found the problem that the starter wire was exposed that it burnt and fused onto the engine block area (pics shown below with the arrow). The fuse has not been broken. The wiring is visible when you remove the front passenger tire. It runs along nearly the exhaust manifold something like that. Anyways it was repaired using a rubber heat shrink sleeve (still holding up today). The beast started right up!

I got new tires for my 04 Expedition Eddie Bauer and decided while i was at it to replace all the tpms sensors since the vehicle is getting up in age and i been dealing with an annoying tpms sensor fault for the last few years. Doing my research and ordering parts from rockauto, i had ordered the ford motorcraft tpms32 sensor and had them installed. I am now getting the tpms light on the dash as well as low tire pressure warning on the message center even though tires are at normal pressure. Any ideas?

Thinking it was only water build up from the rains here last night I drove off thinking nothing of it. When I got to work this morning I looked under the rear of the car and saw a wet spot again. Also the back of the tire is wet, here's the catch and what is throwing me off here, the master cylinder is still totally full and there is no play in the brake pedal, as a matter of fact they - the brakes - actually work great. Anyone have any thoughts. Oh I have Drums in the back. Not sure why though they were supposed to have been disc brakes all the way around.

                                                                                                                                1st and foremost I'm not mechanic, so I apologize if I come on sounding dumb. Just needs some help and advice. I went to get my smog and oil change done today, and the mechanic told me that I have a crack on my radiator and that my coolant looks like "chocolate milk" because there's water mixed with the coolant, that's how it turned like that. He advised I should get the radiator replaced and coolant flushed before any serious problems happens to the engine like blowing out a head. He gave me an estimate price including parts and labor at around $700. I've looked online for radiators and found some on autozone and orielly for about $150. What else would I need?? I'm not sure if I want to drop $700 on a shop and maybe find a self employed mechanic since there's a lot in my town that chargers less. Any advise and help is appreciated. Thanks

                                                                                                                                    Hello everyone, so got back from my mechanic. Engine has very low oil pressure he advised me the engine needs to be rebuild. Not sure if it's worth spending more money on he beast or just sell it. I'll be asking $1000 with the original rims and radio. I put new brakes, pads, belts, (have receipts) tranni is in good shape. Engine would not go over 40mph (timing issues) I don't know any good mechanics in my area just go get a quote on how much it would cost me to repair it. If anyone is interested and willing to invest in fixing it, I am located in NYC area. Title is clean. Thank you all and have a great day

                                                                                                                                      The down part about not taking into acount the intake type, is that it throughs the computer off if you have an aftermarket intake.

                                                                                                                                      It cant tell what the maf ratio is with an aftermarket intake, wich I think is causing my lean bank codes to come on.

                                                                                                                                      Over all though, it work's for a basic tune, easy to use at an affordable price.

                                                                                                                                      It gives the vehicle sharper shifts and a gain in performance.

                                                                                                                                      I suggest a higher quality tuner for those seeking a high output tune with more add ons.. Such as the other SCT Tuners, bully dog, hyper tech and so on. Dont know much about the other ones, so be sure to do some research.

                                                                                                                                        I have a 99 Expy XLT 4x4. It has 125,000 on the transmission and and 1000 on the new engine. I am driving this on a cross country and we are currently changing all the fluids and making sure the maintenance is spot on.

                                                                                                                                        Question 1. Is it a good idea to replace the trans fluid and filter? Seems like people are afraid it will mess up the transmission.

                                                                                                                                        Question 2. Does the transmission have a hidden cooler? Most coolers are located on the outside of the radiator but I don't have one located there. If not I will install one.

                                                                                                                                          Went looking at a 2009 Ford Expedition EL Eddie, nice looking rig, they are asking $10,000 for it but it's got its fare share of scratches, but dealership is OK with me till I told them my wage now they look appalled that I'm even looking at it, I tell him the another dealership is willing to work with me then he tells me to go there, and tells me there's no way a bank is going to lend me $18k on a $9,000 vehicle which told me they are asking more than they think it's worth, that's why I have my 2 dealerships I shop at because ya they are there to make a buck they don't pull random shit out of their ass and play games. Check out the photos, it's a shame it's sitting on their lot because someone else will get the same bull shit I got.

Little back ground on it 102xxx miles. Was put in the ditch and popped the front bumper up a little but enough to off the air bags. Ok i bought it cheap because its in great physical shape. Had a code for lean bank 2 and misfire cylinder 2. I found a vacuum leak and intake gasket near cylinder 2 was leaking. Fixed all that. It has a stutter slightly above idle to 3500rpms. If u lightly accelerate in park u dont notice it but rev it fast and it miss fires hard. What iv already checked is in the comments. Please give any advice that i havent already tried

Is leaving... I hope they enjoy their new ride! Im trying to add her on here... i cried to see this truck go... but happy for them need a safer big suv for their children are growing up and need more bigger space... so the family is happy with this beautiful truck i have made and did fix everything on it and put nice roof rack, and nice black spoiler on rear trunk door. I think and realized the first generation ford expedition is ways better than the newer like the newer dont have custom made spoiler from in early 2000 in small company who made them for first generation only.... love this truck very much and happy to see it pass to someone who love and enjoying to cruise on the expedition!

Tomorrow it will be going to new home with new Owner with big families need this suv badly.

I couldnt afford the gas on 30 gallon of tanks is killing me... and i'm only one person owned this, never use the 3rd row.                                                                                                                                                   I have so many best memories on my black one 1999" ford expedition xlt with 5.4L 4x4 and the currently tan 2002 ford expedition xlt 4.6L V8 4x4, i was very happy to have this truck i dreamed having older expedition since I learned a lots about the first generation ford expedition is taking forever and stoppable for every short mechanical service. But Those are bestest ford SUV made in the world! Im sorry that i have no ford anymore, but U WILL KNOW SOMEDAY, i will be back! If i decide to buy new expedition 2015 or newer! With v6 engine will be nice... i rather stay away from 5.4L but when i have enough money to buy new one and take care of it as knowing your own car and when the day you want to sell it then you know what you talking about your own car that people may think it's not worth to buy it for their asking price. As like im not in rush to sell my truck but some of them are, and will do best offer... but people seem really want to buy it just for $4k cash only.

                                                                                                                                                    So I just had to yell at my boyfriends' friend. First, they told me that my '03 had spark plug wires and not coils, even taking my cover off to "prove" it to me. When I told him that I was changing the plugs because the Service Engine Light was on and that members here had experienced the same problem and this was a simple fix for them so that's what I was starting; he insisted that I started with the transmission because that was more likely that problem. As he finished putting the cover on the motor Beast let him know he was done by dropping his hood on his head! Haha! This is when I had to yell at him as he went to start taking apart the air intake to "check" that out. Nope, he won't be looking under my babies hood again. Why do men always think they know best? Sometimes women know what they're talking about too. Sorry, but I do my research and I am pretty sure you guys wouldn't steer me wrong if only for the sake of the Expy. Haha!

                                                                                                                                                      So my wife had a little fender bender with my expedition. Most important thing, She, our daughter, and her mom were all okay.

                                                                                                                                                      They were driving back from Florida and were in rush hr traffic going 10 mph on the free way. My daughter managed to open her door (2.5 years old) and my wife panicked and jumped out to close the door but forgot to put the truck in park. Needless to say it bounced off the Mercedes in front of her. And the Mercedes won. Slightly scratched the Mercedes but cracked my bumper all to hell at the bottom where the license plate bracket was. Also popped the trim around the grill out at the bottom but it's not broken.

                                                                                                                                                      Well, if the lady turns this into our insurance then we'll be paying the 500 dollar deductible anyway so we will just take mine to the body shop too and get it fixed properly. But if she doesn't, I'll probably just buy a bull bar bc that alone will cover the damages perfectly. There's really only 2 vertical cracks on the edges of the lower grill by the plate.

                                                                                                                                                      Question is, is there a way to mount my front plate to that bull bar since Ohio requires a front plate?

Fuse is fine and I just replaced the brake pedal position switch (stoplight switch-whatever you want to call it) and its still no dice. Now before I take the dash apart to replace the interlock solenoid is there anything else it could be?

                                                                                                                                                              When I got this Expedition (second hand) the battery in it croaked this winter. So, we got another battery and it croaked within a month.

                                                                                                                                                              This could be a coincidence, so it could be nothing. But has anyone had this happen and it be an issue within the car itself?

What a pos .. 5.4 gets smoked by a chevy aveo... ive been to 3 dif shops to figure it out .. New cats .. Coil packs ...plugs almost all sensors ... Nothing still a pos wont rev over 3k and when it get there check engine like comes on and it cuts out so bad u can barley make it up a hill ... Seriously thinking about selling it for what i can and dump all the money into my wj ..
