getting the recall done on my 2015 Escape for the door latch.

Did anybody else get this recall done, if so which door latch is it?

The dealer said it would take all day, my wife had the oil changed and had the 5,000 mile checkup today, but service said to do the latch she'd have to leave all day.

But we also got to take the maintinance plan on this car, like i got for both my new cars.

We don't have to pay for oil changes and brakes, i thought u could only get it when buying a new or used car, but no got it on my 15.

And the warranty onbthe car is good till 2021 or 75,000 miles which ever comes 1st.

Just a question like that.. Did someone have problem with is Ecoboost?? Like miss fire at cold. Miss power and a rough idle?? I bring 3 times at the dealer with this complain and they didn't found nothing. I order my intake gasket kit and i do the job by my self( take a lot of pictures to) i found oil in the intake header, ETV, and a lot of carbon built up around the intakes valves and my cyl. #4 was the worst.. It take me about 6 hours to clean cyl. by cyl. Turn engine by hand to close valves and apply Choke and Carb cleaner. Brush and remove with shop vac( make a home made adaptor to go in the intake port) . It's funny now, i have no more problem with the engine now. ( did is good to install a Oil Catch Can for a open breather service??? Some on do that modif? Sorry for that big story but i want to know if i m the only one. Thats not normal to have this issue with a 2014 ( 54000 km)

    2002 ford escape xlt 3.0 v6......Update again...so was checking out the escape today..found that there was moisture down around the sparkplugs..went ahead pulled and replaced them put it back together cranked it still missing...so i put my hand on the number 6 coil to see if maybe it wasnt on all the way and ZAP it lit me up..took it back out had a crack in the side of the coil..so my stepdad had a spare from where they were replaced years ago put it in and alot better...still has a miss to it so next payday im gonna order new ones and put in and while ive got it apart gonna go ahead and do intake gaskets

      I have a Odd question, I have a 2008 Mazda Tribute with only 67,000 miles but my dad is giving me his 2012 Turbo Chevy Impala which has around 51,000 miles . I plan on keeping my Tribute as a weekend car and for hauling stuff around but does any one know of any groups similar to this for the Impala?

      He have never had any issues with it except for a sensor in the transmission and warranty covered it, but its just nice to be able to ask actually owners for advice and maybe ideas on making the car "mine"

        Alright So I need a little help Rained pretty heavily past night and drove...

        Alright... So I need a little help. Rained pretty heavily past night and drove through a deep puddle, battery light comes on. Checked any all fuses I could think of the next morning. I had pack rats chew through two lines from the alternator previously and did a quick repair. The light is still on despite reconnecting the battery and repairing the lines...

        My question is, the alternator bad or what? I cannot think of what to do next and I'm not a mechanic but I am mechanically inclined. I've taken the alternator out before and really I'm looking at any other options before I have to do that.

          I planned to replace my tie rod ends and right front ABS tone ring and ended up...

          I planned to replace my tie rod ends and right front ABS tone ring, and ended up having to do rotors and pads on both sides.

          When tearing down the right front to get the CV shaft out of the hub, I couldn't get the caliper off. The inboard pad didn't want to move. I had to pull the caliper and bracket together, and the problem turned out to be that the inboard pad was frozen into the bracket. I needed a hammer to get it free.

          The other side was the same, and both inboard pads had a nasty "step" in the braking surface as a result. I hadn't been noticing any braking issues though.

          And then I noticed that the tone ring on the other side now needs replacing :)

            As an update of my last week's post, the weather finally was decent, I took my tools and got to work. The difficulty level I would say is about 6/10 but if you have power tools, it can be a solid 3/10 lol. It took me about 3 hours because I didn't have the proper drill bit size so I had to improvise lol also the battery of my drill died twice so I had to charge it a few times. The total cost without the price of the tools, just the shock absorber and the new mounting base was about $300 Canadian dollars.

            The truck now drives completely different, it's a new car. If you have lost your shock because of the rust as I did, I would suggest you to fix that issue ASAP. It's very easy and safety is compromised if you drive without a shock, obviously.

              Okay, my wife has a 05 Limited 4wd 3.0. I just put in a motor out of an 06 Mariner with 70k miles and had my trans rebuilt at a friends shop. Now the abs light is on and the 4wd light flashes and on the little message board it says "4wd temporarily locked" and "service 4wd." I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but never worked a lot with the vehicles. I had to remove the rear drive shaft because with it in the car locks the 4wd causing the rear tires to lock up. Can anyone confirm if it's the tone rings? Or possibly something else?

I tried to touch it up but im not that good with spray paint. Because whoever did did a horrible job. Looks better but would be better with paint taken off. It has 307k miles. And it's my daily driver. Runs great string motor and transmission. Wheels and tires were just rotated throttle body and fuel system we're just cleaned and treated oil change about a week ago I have brake pads and rotors spark plugs and coil packs ready to be put on it I just spent about $500 in parts and I just got them in yesterday it runs and drives and it's reliable I'm just looking for a bigger vehicle for my wife and 3 kids simple as that

                  so....I have a 2008 Ford Escape with a sunroof. I have a hard time closing it because it goes right into tilt. After a number of tries I thought it was closed. It rained out and I could feel a little bit of water so I messed around with it and could see that it was closed. I go out today and it's cracked open just a bit and I didn't touch anything. Has anyone had a problem with the tilt opening without you touching anything? Anyone else have a hard time to stop in just the right spot before it goes into tilt? Thanks for your help.

                    Hey guys, I love my 03 escape xlt 3.0 v6. I've never had any problems since we bought it brand new, only ever did normal tune ups and oil changes on her. She has 93,000 miles. I was thinking on trading her in for a 2008 escape 2.3 4cylinder with only 29,000 miles. Clean history and no accidents but it had 2 different owners. Should I keep my 03 that's never had problems or should I upgrade? The fact its had 2 owners and has such low miles makes me think that the car has had many problems like a lemon... Opinions??

                      Has anybody replaced an inner CV boot? If so, when you removed the old boot, did you completely strip down the tripod joint, clean all the needle bearings and reassemble, or did you just clean the outside of the tripod joint and reassemble?

                      Before anyone asks, the reason why I'm not simply replacing the whole CV axleshaft is that they're expensive here in the UK - the cheapest I can find is the equivalent of about $140. A new boot kit, on the other hand, is about $15.

                      The Escape was never popular over here and they stopped selling it in 2003, so parts support is poor.

                        P1409 code repair:

                        I figured out the purple wire is not getting 12v with key on engine off. The purple wire goes to my EGR solenoid connector. I opened up the harness to the PCM and found the purple wire and started ohm testing it. I first ohm from the PCM connector to the EGR solenoid connector and it still showed open. I then made a small cut before the EGR solenoid connector and it showed a ohm reading. So.. the wire is broken inside the EGR solenoid connector or very close to it is my problem. I ordered a new EGR solenoid connector to hopefully fix my CEL light.

                          Hey Everyone. OK, so I've posted before, about this issue, still not exactly solved. I've taken my 2006 escape to a couple places for a rough idle, I noticed it first just at a stand still, worse in drive at a stop light, better in neutral or park. Now I've gotten where it's just bad all the time, not as shaky driving but it's rough. It's been put on the computer thingy, no major mechanical issues they say. Has anyone had this experience??? It's been a good four months since it started. I've also tried only one kind of gas, like shell, no difference.

                            Need a little installation advice for a 2015 Escape Titanium EcoBoost antenna...

                            Need a little installation advice for a 2015 Escape Titanium EcoBoost antenna base. Garage door didn't open up quite all the way the other day and when I backed out it caught the antenna and broke it off down in the base. Now even with the antenna broke off, I could still pick up AM, FM, and all Sirius Channels. Took it to the Ford dealer and they had an antenna in stock and had a tech get the threaded end that was broke off in the base out. They screwed in the new antenna, charged me $85 for labor and the antenna. Got me in and out in a half hour but I don't think they checked the entertainment system to make sure it was all good to go. Problem: No AM, FM channels, of course have Sirius that is satellite. It sounds to me like somehow the base or the connection in the base is screwed up. It makes me wonder what they did to get the broken threaded end out. Should have used a very small punch to get it started turning then bring it on out, but if they drilled it with a hand drill they could have screwed it up. Now the question, the part # should be from my research a Ford # 18936 antenna base with connection. Now how does that sucker come off and go back on if I buy one?

                              It has nothing at all, no power anything and not even cruise control! lol Also note the very stylish Wal-Mart hubcaps lol I guess we've been a little spoiled! And what on earth is up with this gauge cluster?!?

                                Have a 2007 Escape XLT 3.0 Auto. It's idles fine, when driving around 45-55 at about 1800-2000 rpm it seems like it's misfiring. It Jerks like a misfire. I built engines, but don't mess with the electrical things. I actually went and unplugged every coil by their self while it was running to see if it made a difference. They all did, Needless to say the back ones sucked doing that while running. No check engine light has came on before pulling them like that. New transmission and torque converter 9 months ago. Shifts great, any help appreciated, with the no check engine light, had me confused. It did come on after I pulled the coil plugs one at a time. I reset the computer and still does it.

                                  Since then, my radio hasn't been functioning normally. Bluetooth isn't working to my phone, can't use DAB radio, steering wheel controls won't work, can't open the Sat Nav, and it won't power off when I hit the power button. (Does when I turn the car off tho).

                                  Thinking it's related to the jump start, but it's got me scratching my head, anyone else experienced this? Any ideas?

                                    I got a 2016 Escape in October 2015. Lately it's been saying that my keyfob isn't in the car. Happens a few times a week. If I start hitting lock/unlock a few times it finds it. Sometimes I have to turn off the car and start it back up for it to find it. Also a few times I've had to hit the lock button like 5 or 6 times to get it to lock. I called my dealer and they said it shouldn't be low battery because it would give a low battery signal. I'll probably stop in there soon, but just wondering if anyone else has seen anything like this?

                                      I am having an odd issue with my sync 3 in my 2017 SE Escape. Started last night. When I start the car it says phonebook downloaded and then immediately places a call to MY phone?! I can't talk to myself. Lol. No more then usual that is. When I hit end call nothing happens. Try to turn off the system, it won't turn off. I had to turn my phone off and back on (iphone6) before it would work. I haven't tried to cycle through again yet to see if that reset the system. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks for any useful info.

                                        Anybody with 14-16 escape titanium ecoboost.? With issues starting it up with remote start ? I remote started my escape and it cranked and started for a second but turned off so I got in and tried starting it with the push button and it didn't want to crank so I jumped started it with my other truck and turned on fine. I took it to local part store and tested battery and it was 94% good and alternator was good aswell.. drove truck all day fine turning it off at stores and places and it would start just fine then went to my parents house and when I was leaving I tried remote starting it and it didn't start I got in and did the push button start and nothing either . I had to jump start it and it started just fine since then I haven't tried the remote start and just use the push start button but when it starts it sounds like it has trouble starting. Any HELP PLEASE THANK U.

                                          I come to you a humble man – I recently noticed my 2005 Escape “lagging” on the highway, felt as if it had no horsepower, it tops off around 75mph and won’t go any faster. Since I drive one mile to work and one mile back home I didn’t address this. Weeks go by and I get a CEL, it’s for a catalytic converter, code stays on for two days and then goes off a week. Stayed like this for about two weeks. My wife took my truck to work and said it was shifting too slow, when I drove it I noticed that it takes a while to shift. Sometimes I have to let go of the gas and then press again for it to shift. Any ideas or tips as to what could be wrong? Thanks in advance

                                            Hoping someone can help me. During the recent snowstorm I accidentally shattered the plastic mount for my antenna cleaning the ice and snow from the rooftop. I own a 2013 Escape Titanium. The dealership says cost will be over $200 in labor plus parts. They said the roof liner needs to be dropped to access the screws.

                                            I was able to save the antenna but nit the base. I climbed up to take a picture of what remains on my rooftop. (Which I included). The radio is working but staticky and no HD is available.

                                            Is there a simple less costly solution? Can the shark fin antenna be used as a replacement option? Can the base be ordered without ordering a new antenna? Can this be replaced without dropping the interior liner?

                                              Good afternoon everyone

                                              Good afternoon everyone!!

                                              So the time has finally come for me to install a new stereo head :-) I picked up a cheaper dual audio from Wal-Mart (please don't judge too harshly, it was in my price range and had the features I basically needed [aux cord and bluetooth]). I also grabbed the correct harness and install kit (double din to single din).

                                              My question/concerns are this..

                                              The harness for the ford matches all the wires for speakers, ground, power and memory to the new head. There is however, one orange wire that does not match up to the head. It seems that the orange is the dashboard illumination/dimming. There is also one blue wire that doesn't match up coming from the new head, this wire is for power antenna (I plan to crimp this one off).

                                              I need advice on what to do with the orange wire, do I crimp that too or do I connect it to one of the other wires, if that's the route I should take where should I connect it.

                                                For those who don't know I was rearended on i40 WB between University and Carlisle in Albuquerque New Mexico. I'm at a loss, this car really has meant alot to me. It's my first car! I have so many good memories, in and around it. We've been on so many adventures all over new mexico, and colorado. I also promised it to my little sister who I was going to donate it to when she came of age. Hopefully I hear some good news tomorrow from my insurance, but for now we'll just have to see what happens. I'm pretty sure my frame was taken out as indicated by the towhitch on the ground, the radiator also seemed to be leaking.

I work in a psychiatric emergency room so we don't get snow days and people are concerned about having to drive the company vehicles but someone said "take the escape, it's never failed in the snow" :) mind you our vehicles include an escape, dodge dorango, and a few jeep patriots.                                                     Alright, back with more problems. I thought I had fixed my problems just got back from the auto parts store yesterday. I drove the escape around 80 miles with the new( 02sensor- Bank 2 Sensor 1) ran fine with no issues. we stopped at the gas station put new fuel in drove it approx. 15 miles up the road Check engine Light . it read (bank 2 sensor 1 heater circuit) .The fuse for the heater circuit is fin,e and it is the 02 we had just replaced. I cleared the code to see if it would throw it again. We stopped by the shopping center went to start the escape it started giving me a few more problems it threw once again bank 2 sensor 1 stuck lean the exact code it gave me before I replaced the 02 the first time but it was also throwing a misfire in cylinder 1 upon start up . what are the suggestions ? why has it killed the 02 sensor so quick ?

                                                      I'm installing a back up camera with an aftermarket radio in my 02 escape. I have the power source and ground for the camera wired into my driver's back up light so it only comes on when in reverse as it should. It should send power to the camera and the reverse wire for my head unit.

                                                      My problem.. when I plug the camera in, my back up lights comes on and stays on and I'm getting constant voltage to my reverse signal wire to the head unit even with the key out of the car.

                                                      I can unplug the camera and everything works as it should. I had a completely different camera and tried it and it does the same thing so it's gotta be a wiring issue. I can only think it's because of the ground I have going from the camera to the ground of the back up light.

                                                      What do you guys think ?

                                                        As the dashboard displays, outside ambient temp and inside cabin temp are very different. If I use the standard front blower mode, the air blows warm - at or near ambient temp (expectedly) with no AC. However, with AC still turned off, if I switch to defogging mode, the air blows colder - at or about 67 degrees. As if AC were engaged. But AC was never turned on.

                                                        Why is the air colder with the defogger engaged?

                                                        I think in HVAC terms, removing moisture will help defog and therefore the intent is to remove moisture and it would reduce temp as well. Technically, the AC would have to be engaged to make the air dry and so cause defogging. But does the AC also reduce the temperature causing cooling to occur?

But these new models car completely different then what I've ever worked on. I have a 2017 and my question is: For the auto start option where the motor shuts down in traffic, is it the starter that continually turns the car back on. If so how is it not going to wear out much faster then a conventional starter? Appreciate the feed back. Also I shut mine off because I don't like the feature that much, I have subs and I feeel like I'm killing the battery when I stop.

                                                              Ok, I have a 2009 escape XLT 3.0 4wd, except it's only FWD right now, I have spent hours reading up on it, checking fuses, tone rings, modules etc and basically what it comes down to is the PTU or transfer case. I can go under the car when in park and the keys out of the ignition and turn the rear driveshaft by hand, from everything I have read this leads me to thinking the ring gear is slipping inside the PTU and I need to get a new one installed (im no mechanic but I do know my way around cars somewhat). I called my regular mechanic and told him all the symptoms and he thinks it could be the rear diff, as far as I have read, the rear drive shaft should not move at all in park, when working properly it should always be spinning until the car senses it needs 4wd and an electro magnet activates a clutch in the rear end engaging the wheel. Is this correct? I'm just not sure my mechanic knows this and I don't want to spend any extra to be told I need to change my transfer case, instead of just bringing one in and getting it swapped.                                                                 Question for the group...2008, XLT, 3.0V6, 164K miles, AWD...I am smelling burnt oil after I drive the vehicle. It's random on how intense the smell is. Sometimes I have seen smoke, but most of the time there isn't any. I am used to this smell after an oil change, as it seems to make a mess where the oil filter is. But this is different, as the oil change smell eventually goes away; this keeps coming back. It started about 6K miles ago. I do lose a little bit of oil between each change, no more than 1qt. I use 5W-20 synthetic from Motorcraft, and I may have a dot or two on the floor, but nothing concerning. I also change the oil every 3K miles. I found a couple of forums that sound interesting, even though they discuss the 1st Gen Escape having this issue. One talks about a gasket that could cost several grand to replace, hence it's probably better to leave it alone, and the other talks about a seal on the exhaust costing $50 and some of my time:

                                                                  Got this last October after nine years of owning a loyal Honda Civic. I opted for the Front wheel drive 2017 titanium. We don't see much snow in SC, so I got some more bells and whistles with the savings of not getting a 4x4. It's really been a joy to drive so far and I hope for many good years with it. My 07 Civic had 170,000 miles on it and the starter was about to go. I wasn't leaving the Ford dealership without a new steering wheel in my hand. I love the options and the quiet ride. I don't hear very much road noise at all. I looked at all the suv's in its class, but I've really liked the Escape since my friend got his 2014 model.

                                                                    I realize that there's always the junkyards and individuals parting one out but just wondered if anyone had good recommendations for on-line resources.

                                                                        Started bogging and having issues I drove it home parked it. Next day I went to start had a little trouble but when put into gear it automatically bogged down and didn't want to go it dies, we push it to the garage do some diagnostics on a code reader and it told me I had a misfire on a few cylinders , I change the spark plugs thought maybe i wasn't firing on all 6. I changed them ( everything went back the way it came apart). I fired it up, under its own power it running smoother, I thought I fixed the issues and still it bogged down and died when put into gear so .. I did some YouTube search and thought it could be the catalytic converters so I started to tear into the front and sure enough it was them , completely clogged, I cleaned both front and back and we took the rear one off for better flow . Everything assembled back together with just the housings. Tells me bank 2 sensor 1 is lean but that was the last code I got . I try to start and nothing happens I've cranked and cranked and it won't fire up . I can crank and crank where the motor sounds like it's going and I can hear combustion and the fuel pump but as soon as I back the key it slows . I'm trying to figure out what to check next and see if anyone can diagnose the problem .

                                                                          So my 2016 Escape SE USB ports aren't working... Well the first port completely doesn't recognize my phone being plugged in, the second one just says on my phone "this accessory may not work", but the apps, etc will pop up on the screen. This happened randomly today. I noticed earlier while my phone was plugged in, it disconnected/reconnected... But didn't notice it wasn't working until now.

                                                                          Has anyone had this notification pop up? Any clue of how to fix it so the USB ports are useable again?

                                                                          I've already tried a Master Reset through the settings in Sync.

                                                                            Well yesterday my 09 Escape met a cement pole while my kid was practicing. Thankfully no one was hurt and she stopped before we made a new door in the bldg. needs a new bumper, fender, headlight and plastic under the hood. Ugh. Luckily retail value still allows for repair instead of death. Not the way I wanted to share a photo... it's a xls base model with 124,000 miles and needed tranny work 10,000 miles ago. Spun and Slammed into third when hot. It's been a reliable vehicle with normal wear and tear of brakes, tires, some worn suspension components. Ceramic brakes are the only way to go for any vehicle. The Ford suspension does suck and eats inner sidewalls no matter how many times aligned and such. Gotta rotate tires a lot to keep the ridges down.

                                                                              I'm trying to take out the lights switch on my 08 and it's been a struggle, I tried pushing the inner metal clips in and it's not working. I'm trying to take a power line for the fog lights considering I didn't have them originally.

Btw I have checked the sensor on the top of the dashboard and it's there (that's the sensor which they say is responsible for day time lights operation)

                                                                                I have a Ford escape 2009, 2.5 AT. It has an strange noise when set in motion, the noise is like a "trrtrrrr" and it sounds just under the engine or the transmision sector.

                                                                                The noise appears In slopes and also sounds when I acelerate the car in low rpm, just stay one or two seconds, then noise dissapears. I was Checking The car and I found this. ( please check the video)

                                                                                I think this piece is floppy. is normal the movement of this piece? is the axle of left , in the conection to automatic box , the right axle no have this movement Maybe it could be the reason for the noise?

                                                                                  Sooo... I have 2007 ford escape, which i have had for 7 years.... This thing is RELIABLE! never had any major issues. Now i was going to get rid of it this year and get a truck because i do alot of fishing and its not a 4x4 but i am going to keep it. I wanted to see if anyone here can give me a few things i possible could do it that's not really crazy expensive. The sun roof doesn't work anymore does anyone know how much that would be to get fixed? Remember i take it fishing often so going for more of a off road kinda look/feel.

                                                                                    It all started last week. Every time I start my car, put it in DRIVE, it will jerk then slowly goes away as I put on the accelerator. Yesterday morning before going to work, it jerked so strong but still was able to drive it to work. NOT until on my way back, it STARTED then 10-15 meters away, No Acceleration. It just died on me and wouldn't start.

                                                                                    Towed to the garage last night, and but it started again this morning like nothing's wrong. What could be the problem?

                                                                                    Suspect is the Fuel Pump, but Im not sure.

                                                                                      I have a 2016 Escape. It has the Sync 3 in it. a few months ago when I got in the car and tried turning on the radio when the car was on, it wouldn't come on. Took it to the dealership where we leased it and they just reset it. Told us that's all they can do to remidy the issue. About a week later it did it again. Fast forward til now, a few nights ago the sync voice button wouldn't respond. I tried shutting off the engine, getting out of the car and back in and still nothing. Oddly when I got back in the Escape 8 hours later, the voice button on the steering wheel worked.

                                                                                      I'm not sure if this is a software issue with Sync 3 or it's something a little more complicated than that. I didn't like the response i got from the dealer about it though.

I just bought a 2015 Escape Titanium 2.0. Loving the zippiness and all the new modern amenities (coming from a 2004 Chrysler). Problem: when I use my hands free phone, the radio won't switch back to the radio. I have hung up, but it's still counting the call time and I can hear some static in the speaker. I have to turn it off with the stereo power button, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on. Sometimes even that doesn't work and I have to turn off the Bluetooth on my phone to get it to disconnect. Anyone else have this problem? Is there a software update or something I need to do?

                                                                                          I have a low miles(65k) 2005 Escape v6 4wd XLT. I need to replace all three catalytic converters. I live in California, which presents unique challenges with the emission laws, etc. I have been told by a muffler shop that one of front cats(of course the most expensive one) needs to be OEM from Ford. So, with all three, the cost comes to the tune of around 4k.

                                                                                          Has anyone had to do this complete job and ballpark how much did it cost for the three? Please, only respond if you are in Cali, I understand in other states, there are little to no emission regulations.

                                                                                            I have a 2008 escape and I've noticed the past week at first start of the day (not after I've started and driven the car) it makes a loud sound, not as if I hit the accelerator but similar but doesn't sound very "nice". Maybe similar to a low growl? Very quick, if I didn't have the door open the first time, I wouldn't pay attention every time now or have noticed it. I will be taking it in for an oil change soon but anyone have this issue? We only have 104k miles on it and just had to replace transmission gear belts 3k miles ago so I'm hoping this won't be another headache of a repair.

And after a couple weeks we noticed that the transmission would almost jump into gear when going from park to reverse and then to drive and while driving on the highway it would jump in rpms to like 6k going from 45-70 mph. So the dealership said it was a common issue and replaced The shift solenoid. So my wife got the car back today and it's even worse than before we dropped it off. So my question is, has anyone else experienced transmission issues this early on? Because if they can't fix the issue this time and the next time I am going to have to contact a lawyer.

                                                                                              And when she called back to say it was worse, the idiot at the dealership told her that the transmission was not covered under the extended power train warranty lol.

                                                                                                Sup folks! So I have a 2013 SEL 1.6L with 105k miles on it. Bought it a lil over a year ago. A few months ago I had to have a fuel pressure sensor replaced, no biggie. Now in the last month or so, three more issues have popped up. I have a sporadic slight thudding from the front end usually under acceleration, which I believe is causing my front driver side tire to go bald on the inside, and my trunk/convenience lights stopped working all together. I've checked fuses, switches, settings, found nothing. But I can still turn the dome lights on manually. Lastly, and most recently, I keep getting CEL code p0234, "turbocharger/supercharger overboost condition" so tired of this turd... And I'm not in the mood to pay a dealer thousands of dollars at once to diagnose and repair all these issues. That being said, anybody got any tricks up their sleeve? Do dealers work out payments or something for really large repair bills? So frustrated...

                                                                                                  Alright a few weeks ago I had a problem it was cold here in Indiana my escape started acting up and the check engine came on. Got a scan tool it threw some codes telling me could 1235 were misfiring and that bank 2 sensor 1 was stuck lean . Well from there the escape would start but when put into gear it wouldn't move only sputter bogg and die. So I parked it at the shop started tearing into it and my cats were clogged and broken apart the front and rear . SO I GUTTED THEM. Alright but now I'm having issues can anyone help me out . I can't get it to start will it not run with no cats or can I do something to help it .

                                                                                                    My wife reported she had a problem with her 2015 Escape it keep coming up trailer attached BLIS off. There is no trailer being towed. Found the trailer connector weather cover keeps coming off and the wet snow and rain creating this fault by shorting across the electrical trailer connector pins. What I did was use some heat from my wife's hair drier to dry the trailer connector. Cleaned the dirt out using a tooth bush and applied dielectric grease on the rubber part. Use a zip tie wrap to hold the weather cover in place.

                                                                                                      I wanted to share my experience with a great set of tires that I just had put on my 2012 Ford Escape Limited 3.0 4WD.

                                                                                                      These are Michelin Defender LTX M/S in size 235/70R16 109T on factory Ford Rims.

                                                                                                      These tires are AMAZING. This past Thursday we had a pretty good snow storm (blizzard) in RI. The power went out and I had to go out on unplowed roads to go get my generator. It was about 5 miles uphill and down hill, without and with a 1000 lb trailer on it. These tires made it seem like the snow was nothing. Yes she did run at a little higher RPM than dry roads but she never complained. These tires are quite too!

                                                                                                      I'm not able to comment on gas mileage impact yet due to it being winter and we're doing a lot of idling.

                                                                                                      These tires replaced the Michelin Latitudes that were on it when we bought it (presumably they were the tires from the factory). They were affordable too! For $946 I got the tires, mount and balance, 4 wheel alignment and an routine service done, at a dealership!

Looking for a reliable vehicle you don't have to sink a ton of money into? I and a Ford mechanic did all the expensive maintenance for you. This vehicle has many more reliable years left on it. Well taken care of , winter ready Escape "Limited model". 4wd, V6, Power windows, power locks, power seat,Black leather (good condition) , interior in great condition. Heat and AC work great. Brand new Bluetooth hands free radio installed. Recent( with in last 6 months) maintenance done mostly oem parts -Brand new ceramic brake pads and rotors front and back, New emergency brake shoes both sides, new brake dust shield, new rear shocks, newer battery, new alternator, new serpentine belt, new oil pan gasket, new front exhaust, new catalytic converter, oil and filter, air filter, cabin filter, new fuel filter, new pinion seal, new rear axle seals , new rear wheel bearings, new U joint, bushings, and rear fluid change. Tires are in almost new condition. New floor mats. There was some rust in back wheel well that I had professionally cut out and welded to better than new condition ($1800) - rust proofed/ under coated .I also had some undercoating done on vehicle to protect wheel wells and frame. New inspection sticker, 113,000 miles, with fluids changed regularly. Exterior in overall good condition -regular wear and tear) Our family has outgrown this vehicle, so it's time to sell.

                                                                                                          For those of you who have installed after market radios and speakers, what brand works best without needing an amp or too much extra "padding" in the console area. I'm not looking to get a subwoofer (my days of blasting heavy bass to piss off the town I'm in are over, I just want a nice, clean, and crisp sound and an updated interface), and I don't use CD's, let alone 6 of them.

                                                                                                            I thought that I had a broken wire from the MAF sensor. I checked continuity. I found connectivity on 5 out of 6 wires from the sensor to the ECU.

                                                                                                            Before I tore into the harness to look at the 6th wire, I decided to put the old sensor back in, just a hunch. Check it out, it now went from -40 degrees intake temp to 84 degrees intake temp, which would be correct. Elevation shoes 774 Ft, which this is Texas, that is about right. And, no more P0113 engine code. There is nothing wrong with my old sensor. I drove it about 10 miles, still no guts. Grrrrr!

                                                                                                            So now I know 3 things. The wiring harness is good, the new MAF sensor I bought is bad. And the Ford dealership that ran the diagnostics doesn't know JACK!

                                                                                                            Next step, all new oxygen sensors. After that, all new coils. It is now giving a multiple cylinder misfire code P0300.

                                                                                                              My fully optioned 2017 Lightning Blue Metallic 2.0L. Came out of a 2014 fully optioned. Certainly more refined, but some quality control issues. Sync 3 doesn't work well with iPhone 7, FordPass works but erases some settings when used, every time.

                                                                                                              My biggest gripe is the steering, feels like I'm playing a video game. Very hard to get a feel for the limits and it's over boosted of center. If they made the steering a bit heavier it would feel a lot better. Oh, and there is something rolling around the area in between glovebox and passenger side air bag. Goes away when I make a right, comes back when I go left. Dread bringing it in cause I will either get "we can't recreate it" or they will take apart dashboard and it will never be the same.

                                                                                                              I'm still only at 1600 miles, so I need a little more break in time. But while basically the same car, they did quite a bit of refining. SYNC 3 is a vast improvement over MFT(when it works). New center column design makes more sense. Overall I'm happy, there are just some wrinkles the need to be ironed.

                                                                                                                I'm not much of a car guy but I got a flat on my 2016 Ford Escape in the middle of nowhere yesterday (180 miles from Las Vegas near Goldfield the ghost town haha). While waiting the 90 minutes for AAA I decided to try putting my donut on myself (I've changed tires before but like I said, I'm not much of a car guy, and this was my first time with this car). Well for the life of me I couldn't get the tool that came with the Escape to pull one of the lug nuts off. When the AAA guy got there he said not only did he think it would be impossible with that tool, but I stripped one. Luckily he had his power stuff and got it off easy and when I got back to Vegas I got a new one. But is it possible Ford gave me the wrong size? This vehicle was brand new (got it back in 2015). I just think it's weird it came with a jack and a tool that should have worked but didn't.

First American car purchased in over thirty years. Owned Hondas Toyotas Lexis BMW and Mercedes. Never had problems as these companies stand behind their products. Thought Ford had finally gotten their act together. Wrong! Took it in this afternoon after noticing some kind of stain on the driver's side window trim chrome. Ford denied responsibility claiming I must have spilled something on it. Stain is only on chrome trim and under the clear coat! This has spoiled what had been a pleasant purchase. I will pay a body shop to replace. But they have lost my business and that of my friends. Fix Or Repair Daily!

                                                                                                                    Purchased a 2017 escape about two weeks ago. When I went to look at it the dealer lost both keys to it. Fast forward a few hours and they finally found one of the keys so I could drive it home and they said they would get me another one made.

                                                                                                                    Early last week they told me they submitted paperwork for a new key to be made. Since then I've contacted them by email three times asking on the status with no response. I think they are ignoring me and trying to get out of making me a second key. I have paperwork that they forgot to have me sign on my trade in so I told them they will get the paperwork when I get my key.

                                                                                                                    So my question is does anyone have any Ford contacts that could help me out with this and maybe look into it for me. Thanks.

                                                                                                                      I meant to post this back in the fall, but life happens. Anyway. My new companion for my 2005 Escape Limited; I'm pleased to introduce Roxanne. A 2006 Mercury Montego Premier AWD. While looking for a replacement for my 2005 Freestar Limited I accidentally stumbled across this grandpa-car and fell completely in love with it. Fully loaded, full time AWD, CVT bolted to the famous Ford 3.0 V6. It's so cool (to me) to hear and feel the difference between the Escape and Montego's overall performance with the same engine, on two different vehicles with two very different transmissions. Lots of familiar buttons, dials and such in the Montego. The power mirror switch, as one example. The front seats are exactly the same, and the rear is appropriately close.

                                                                                                                      Anyway, just wanted to share with you all. What an outstanding car she's been so far. I love that 3.0 V6, in both vehicles.

Im going to level up the front and want a nice exhaust note. Im thinking OME 1.75" raised springs for the front and lovells standard height rear springs. Maybe a more aggressive tyre, all terrains similar to factory size.Thoughts? And a cheap mod for exhaust if possible ie deleting a muffler or resonator? Possibly a hotdog fitted in place? And what are oponions on hub spacers for improved stance? Any HELPFUL opinions appreciated. Cheers.

                                                                                                                          This is a follow up to this previous post; I have a 2017 Escape 1.5l Titanium with 6000 miles and have a intermittent squeak/clunk/noise at low speeds that comes from the rear underbody. I thought it might be a defective bushing. Took it to the Dealer and The Service Advisor thought it was the strut mount. The Mechanic troubleshooting revealed it to be the rear sway bar end links and bushings. Both were replaced but the noise is still present, anyone have a problem like this? Thanks for responding. At last,it sure seems the noise problem is solved and it was not the rear shock but it did get replaced. The noise was coming from improperly torqued rear suspension bolts. So far ,so good, no more noise.Thank you all that shared your experiences, I am grateful.

Long story short, had the no boundaries (inserted a pic) about a year and a half ago, it through a rod back in October 2015. Had to get something cheep to get me through school, have had a bunch of cars since then. Currently have a Fusion Sport as my daily and recently picked up this $400 beater / fixer escape! It's a 2001 XLS 5 Speed I found on Craigslist by accident and just had to go for it. I hope to make it something at least not ugly and maybe I'll keep it when I'm done

                                                                                                                              Need some insight. My 2013 1.6l blew a rad line a while back. Coolant drained, and it kicked into engine protect mode saying it's overheating. Though it doesn't actually overheat, it's a failsafe if the coolant drops too low in the resevoir. The problem is since then I'm stuck in engine protect mode. It's not full blown limp mode but, I can't go full throttle. It surges while accelerating until I let off the throttle and maintain a cruising speed. This surging is computer controlled because it's perfectly even surging and only if I'm accelerating. Dash show no engine light however obd scanner shows "over heat protection mode (permanent )"

                                                                                                                                #1A few years ago, the steering wheel column started a squeaky like noise (sounds like rubber against rubber) when turning wheel. This winter in very cold temps, it is really bad. Noise eases up somewhat, once warmed up.

                                                                                                                                #2 My cruise control for the past few years works off and on, mainly off! I checked fuse and it is alright. Sometimes, when it does work, it will automatically flip off.

                                                                                                                                #3. My rear windshield wiper keeps blowing fuse! Worked for a couple seconds, then blew the new fuse I just put in.

                                                                                                                                  Yesterday on my 2002 automatic V6 Escape which just rolled over 230k miles suddenly the OD/off light started blinking and I barely have second gear. I pull out at the stop sign and my escape revs all the way to 4k and goes extremely slow taking about 45 seconds to get to 35mph, before suddenly jolting into third gear which accelerates fine but put me back in my seat a little.

                                                                                                                                  It feels like I'm in a manual trans car with the clutch not engaged all the way but still going on the gas when I'm in second gear.

                                                                                                                                  I only have 600$ to my name which is about how much this car is worth blue book without issues.

                                                                                                                                  Tl;dr I think my trans is dying, how fucked am I?

                                                                                                                                    I was wondering if anyone has experience with their escapes having a rough idle, it's been happening for a month now. I called shops and the Ford dealer and they just advised to use premium gas, so i did, no changes!

                                                                                                                                    Today, I was at a stop light and it got super rough and shaky, I thought I was going to stall out, but I was able to turn the corner and gave it gas, I was fine.

                                                                                                                                    The only logical advice from the Ford dealership, I was given was to change the plugs? They didn't seem too bad, but I wanted to check with others that may know from experience.

                                                                                                                                      For sale is my 2006 Ford Escape XLT. The car has been my daily driver for years, and a very reliable one at that. The vehicle has just over 170,000 well cared for, mostly highway, miles on it. Mechanically the car is very sound top to bottom with the basic wear and tear you would expect on a vehicle its age. The paint and body is in great shape as it was waxed and detailed more than regularly for the last 10 years with just a few minor flaws here and there. The interior is just as clean with no stains on the grey fabric seats, carpet or headliner. It also includes a sunroof, aftermarket head unit, and LED overhead lights. The tires are a year old and though showing minor wear they are still in great shape. Engine oil and other mechanical maintenance has always been done correctly on a very regular basis.

                                                                                                                                        Hello everyone sorry for the long first post. My wife has a 2013 Ford Escape 1.6 which we bought about a year ago. It's up to 135k miles since she drives all day for work. About 10k miles ago it developed a shaking above 55 and gets really bad 70-80 mph. It only does it when you accelerate not coasting or neutral so I know it's not the tires. I've even swaped tires for our winter set. I brought it to Ford and they said it's the rear cv joint on the driveshaft that connects to the rear diff. I replaced the driveshaft with a lower mileage used one and I have the same issue. My mechanic ran it on the lift and can hear noises in the front diff that resonate to the hubs on both front axles. He says that's my issue. Before I replace my entire transmission I wanted to get some opinions and see if anyone here has experience with any of these symptoms. Thanks for the help!

I've got an 08 escape v6 that's having electrical issues. The headlights and interior lights are flickering and the battery light comes and goes. Installed a new battery and had alternator checked. The thing acts crazy losing power to the cluster radio and ac. Not all the time but it's happening more and more. Ac also comes on by itself. Any ideas or suggestions. I've looked at all fuses and are all good. I pulled the alternator fuse and all flickering stops. Maybe a bad alternator and a crappy autozone tester?

                                                                                                                                            Beyond excited for tomorrow!!!! My a/c compressor started making this God awful grinding noise in march when my grandmother tried to rein-act the Titanic and sank the front portion of the truck. Thank fully she had no injuries, and the car had very few issues, well never mind........

                                                                                                                                            But any ways my a/c compressor finally started to go limp on me. Im in Florida, us large people need out a/c even if its 40f out side.

                                                                                                                                            So shes finally getting fixed tomorrow, no more sweating, and no more cat in a blender sounds!!!!!!!!!

                                                                                                                                              Over lunch today, got into a discussion about (carbon-fuel powered) automobile design and there was a point about twin exhaust mufflers being more for vanity than purpose - argument being large rigs/trucks or even minivans had only one exhaust muffler even with all the power. Had to explain why and how a twin muffler is added to boost power for turbocharged engines and V6 or larger engines, and a single muffler doesn't automatically mean single exhaust manifold.

                                                                                                                                                Going on 4 months of having my 2017 SE and loving it. However, when my first service comes up, I will have a few warranty issues to discuss:

                                                                                                                                                - sometimes, when I put the vehicle in reverse it doesn't engage and I have to go out of reverse and back in

                                                                                                                                                - condensation in the taillights

                                                                                                                                                - when turning on the stereo, it sometimes immediately turns back off and I have to try 4 or 5 times before it stays on

                                                                                                                                                - when the weather is cold (as in 1°C or lower) the door handles stick open or partially open

                                                                                                                                                Otherwise, I have no other issues.

                                                                                                                                                  I took my 2013 to the mechanic because I had a water leak in my windshield, and coming out of the light vent on the right side of my cargo area. They pulled the headliner out and discovered the entire thing is soaked like a sponge. All my electrical wires, everything under the pillars is soaked. They estimate it's been this way for a long time. He looked online and found Escape forums showing this is a common issue with this generation of Escape due to a flaw with the sealant they use for the roof rack or something.

                                                                                                                                                  Anyone else ever deal with this? It sounds like it's going to be expensive as hell to fix (replacing the whole headliner and resealing the roof).

                                                                                                                                                  I just bought this vehicle from a dealer in early November, so it's out of warranty, but I still think either they, or Ford, should do something about this...

                                                                                                                                                    Does anyone know of any common transmission issues for a 2002 4x4 XLT automatic escape? I have gone through 4 transmissions (including the one I started with). Atleast so I'm told by the transmission place. And we can't seem to get it fixed. I'm starting to think I never got a new transmission (each one has been a rebuilt one) in the first place. I keep going to the same place only because I have a warranty with them and it's good until June. I will keep going back until they fix it. I'm at my wits end. I've always wanted an escape and it's been nothing but a money pit nightmare.

                                                                                                                                                      I own a 2013 Ford Escape and when driving down hills after tapping the brake a few times the transmission shifts from 6th gear down to 4th gear all by it's self this is not normal. then the other day on the highway using cruise control set to 67 in a 65 zone came upon some slower traffic and using the speed paddle on the steering wheel that's marked - + I tapped the negative to slow down the car, then it shifted to 4th gear engine screaming, I turned of the cruise and put it in shift mode sure enough it was in 4th gear so i shifted it to 5th then to 6th. This could be very dangerous in certain situations, so i'am calling the dealer today where I bought it and see what they think. Anybody else having this problem?

                                                                                                                                                        I bought a 2016 Ford Escape last year & it never snowed for it to go in 4 wheel drive. We recently got 8 inches of snow. It is 4 wheel drive & it supposed to automatically go in 4 wheel drive when it senses the tires slipping. I have no ideal what happens when this happens. Can someone please tell me? Don't think I'm crazy! All the vehicles I know that are 4 wheel drive, the driver puts the vehicle in 4 wheel drive. I have never owned one that u rely on the vehicle to do this itself. Can be scary if u don't know what happens & u really don't drive in snow. Just purchased for safety getting back & forth to work or emergencies. I need some help here please!

First time owner of a 2015 Escape 2.0 Ecoboost Titanium 4 wheel drive. We got 10" of snow last night. We live in the western North Carolina mountains. Our drive is paved and guessing a 15 degree angle, not bad. The Escape has brand new tires and got a pretty aggressive tread on the all season radials. What can I expect from this vehicle in this kind of snow. We have reached our high of 18 and will be down in single digits for the next 4 nights and low 20s in day. What say ye? Advice? How will this puppy do in the snow? Thanks ahead of time.

Except for owning a 2002 Ford Focus Station Wagon (which I dearly loved before it was totaled in an accident), I have only bought Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda and Kia in the past. Needless to say, I’m getting trashed for my purchase and keep hearing the old joke – Ford means “Fix or Repair Daily.” I’m determined to prove my detractors wrong and drive my Escape into the ground. Can you share with me the following?

                                                                                                                                                              My 88 yo Mom called me today. It seems she brought her 2012 in for an oil change (NOT a Ford dealership) and they proceeded to tell her she needed TWO lower (could have been upper - she doesn't remember) control arms. BOTH SIDES. $300+ This vehicle has about 36,000km on it and is almost literally "driven by a little old lady to church on Sundays". I doubt it's ever been over 100km/hr. So, I told her to take it to the FORD dealer on Monday and let them have a look. 36,000km. Control arms. Really? Unfortunately, I live 5 hours away or I'd go with her.

                                                                                                                                                              In the event that it DOES need something, what do you think Ford Canada's response would be? Do you think they would waive labour charges, fix it for free or plain do nothing? I'll update after Monday :)

                                                                                                                                                                I have a case open with Ford on this now since my Escape started leaking gas 2 days before we got the letter. Long story short, there at no parts available in the US, either current or revised and there may not be any a available until July 2017. It seems the only choice at this point is to find an aftermarket one of you can until the revised post comes out. If your car is leaking, I've found that not filling all the way up seems to it from leaking since the crack is at the top of the tank.

So I just bought a 2002 Escape with a 3.0 automatic. I've had it about a week now and unfortunately the overdrive light started to blink and the transmission is doing this shudder, hard shift while driving at pretty much any speed now. Do any of you have any advice as to what the issue could be? I pulled codes and so far it cost for the ECM, input speed and output speed sensor in the transmission range sensor. Before I get to guessing which one of these it is I was hoping somebody here could give me a little bit of knowledge.

                                                                                                                                                                    I have a 2005 Ford Escape 4 cyl. with 301,000 + miles and the transmission has started jerking. The jerking only occurs when the position indicator on the instrument cluster shows it to be in neutral, but is actually in drive. While driving down the road, the cluster shows it jumping from drive to neutral. But i can still accellerate when it shows to be in "neutral".

                                                                                                                                                                    I have a feeling it could be transmission or the PCM. Vehicle sometimes will also lose power then come back on while driving. (Knock on wood, it has been a while).

                                                                                                                                                                    Any suggestions on the issue with jerking and jumping to neutral and back to drive?

                                                                                                                                                                      The tyres still have 1/3 tread left but they have gone hard and starting to get a bit loose in the wet on occasion. The date on the tyres is 2508 (made 25th week of 2008)

                                                                                                                                                                      Apparently 5 yrs old is recommended max.

                                                                                                                                                                      Anyway to the point would people recommend A/Ts or do you get around ok on normal road tyres?

                                                                                                                                                                        Does anyone have a strange but strong musty smell? Mine was starting to smell a lot before I hit the deer. I've been without my escape for about a month now but had it briefly before they decided they needed to replace the vehicle's computer. When I got it again for a few days, it had a much stronger smell. The service guy said there might be a leak but I wonder if there is a classic problem with the 2016 model year that the community knows about. Sunroof? Drain hole plugged in the doors? I'm not sure they are working hard to diagnose the problem, but I hope to find out tomorrow.

                                                                                                                                                                            For anyone having issues with Fords sync I found out what I believe to be some valuable information tonight. I have a few post on here about how my daughters IPhone 6 is having trouble working with Fords sync on a 2013 Escape she just bought.

                                                                                                                                                                            There was a sync update on Fords website that you could put on a flash drive and then put it in the USB drive in your Escape to update your software and it would take care of several of the issues people have been having. The old software is 4.29.12285 and the new updated version is 4.30.13171.

                                                                                                                                                                            The new updated version has been removed from their website now because it was not fixing all the problems people were having with their sync. I found this out when I called Fords sync help line. They will be releasing another software update to fix all the issues people have been having. They hope it will be released very soon.

                                                                                                                                                                            So for now we are going to have to wait on the update so that my daughters phone will work properly. This is not necessarily Fords problem it is a problem with Microsoft. They are in the process of switching over to Blackberry and getting rid of Microsoft.

                                                                                                                                                                            So if your having issues with the sync in your Ford just sit and wait because a software update is on its way and hopefully sooner rather then later. I would advise you to go to Fords website, make a profile, and register your vehicle. This will help to keep track of when the software update is released and other things such as recalls.

                                                                                                                                                                            I hope this helps somebody because it has been giving me and my daughter fits trying to figure all this out. Merry Christmas!

                                                                                                                                                                              I have a 2001 Ford Escape with a 3.0 Engine 4wd. I've had it less than a year & it only has 130k miles on it & all of a sudden the transmission goes out. After calling around, I find that the transmissions in the 01-04's are known to have bad trannies. Wonderful...NOT! After searching for a rebuilt, I find that the 05's & newer have cheaper rebuilds than the 01-04's. UGH! So I've been searching ebay & amazon & calling local salvage yards in search of an affordable rebuild. No luck. Cheapest I've found starts at $1,400 and that's just the tranny, not fluids or labor. Anybody have any cheaper suggestions? Thanks!

I own a 2005 Ford Escape and recently had the computer damaged. I investigated with some experts and ford bulletins and found that this model needed change all the ignition coils and spark plugs with original motorcraft brand and a new computer changed. I sent the computer to be fixed and I will put all the sparkplugs and ignition coils with the correct specifications (motorcraft). Is there someone who has had this same issue and after changing the ignition coils, cables and the computer has not had any problems afterwards? I want to know if I should stay with my vehicle or if I should sell it. Thanks!

Luke took the first hit. I "escaped" with a bruised knee. I now understand the new Escapes come with driver knee bag!

                                                                                                                                                                                    Can anyone give me guidance for a new 2017 -- SE or Titanium? 4WD or FWD? I'm having a hard time deciding because one has options I want while the other has others but not on both! What's a girl to do? Want good snow traction for New England weather. Thanks all!

I'm picking it up for parts dirt cheap, but its in pretty good shape. better than mine that i drive.

Very mechanically inclined, just unfamiliar with these vehicles.

                                                                                                                                                                                        Just got my 2016 black titanium Escape back from the body shop after hitting a deer at 70mph. $14,000 damage and the car looks perfect again. But the remote start no longer works and the body shop has arranged for me to drop it there next Thursday. He said that it is likely a settings issue because the battery was disconnected for 3 weeks. I've Googled and cannot find any indications of secret menus or other ways to get it working again. I also noticed today that the "autoclose" driver's side window doesn't work. I need to hold up the window close button for it to close all the way. Any ideas about these things? I don't want to sit in the body shop for 2 hours but I guess I don't have much choice.

Their extended bumper to bumper is not an actual Ford warranty. Does anyone know if there is an actual Ford 100,000 mile bumper to bumper waranty? Was looking at a GMC and am told that there is really no such thing as a GMC extended warranty. Then a salesman told me about a Wrap warranty that goes 5 years or 125,000 miles. Has anyone had trouble getting work covered by a place you did not buy your vehicle with one of these "generic" extended warranties?

                                                                                                                                                                                            Well folks, I am at a.loss on the 2011 2.5 P0301 cylinder 1 misfire. Compression good, coil packs, plugs, injectors good. And getting hit by a coil pack really hurts, by the way. NOID light test pending. I don't think it's the ECM or Wire Harness or connector. I bore scoped the cylinders, they looked clean.

                                                                                                                                                                                              Okay Escapee owners... I have a 2011 2.5, tossing a P301code, new plugs, coil packs, injectors. Still get a intermittent P0301code (misfire number 1). Compression test will be tomorrow. I am hard pressed to think this is internal since at WOT it does fine, no oil in the coolant and no coolant in the oil, exhaust smells fine. It does have a shudder above 35 at cruise. fuel trim is fine.

                                                                                                                                                                                              So, other than valves, wiring harness? ECM but no codes? O2 sensor but no codes.

                                                                                                                                                                                              I have wiggles the wires and maybe a connector or something in the harness.
