Hey guys I bought warm manual locking hubs at advance auto a couple weeks ago and was just first trying out the 4wd with them and noticed a noise coming from the passenger side. Went to check it out and my wheel bearing nut was loose so when I proceeded to take the manual hub apart the spring shot out and the whole hub fell apart..... so no 4wd... where and what brand manual locking hubs did you guess get? And do I need special nuts with manual locking nuts or are they supposed to install with stock spindle nights? Any help is appreciated

This is my bronco Project! It has been almost a 5 year project! It was originally from California I had two rust spots one under the heat shield for the exhaust all repaired and all underneath of the bronco painted and cleaned up. Well I am at the stage of getting it ready to start and I am running into wiring issues. Had lights working was not turning over checked a lot of wires and seems like it could be my fusible link wire not getting juice because now nothing works. changed batteries, new cables, clamps. It was from a very warm climate new dash all new seats and covers new armrests a lot of that was killed by the sun and heat I am also thinking that the wiring took a bit of damage from heat. I am thinking about doing some sort of painless wiring harness and replacing it all just curios if anybody has any input or any other options? Thanks!

      I was in the dunes today driving pretty hard, when I got back on the road I noticed a jerking while driving I pulled over and it doesn't do it in neutral but in gear it jerks forward hard and fast, it has a hard time accelerating. It used to do this very slightly when idling up an incline. I thought it was a misfire but in neutral it won't do it so I'm pretty certain it's transmission related? Please help me out, I need to get her fixed! Crossing my fingers that it's not the torque converter. It's an 89 351w with the c6 at 90k miles. I always stop and let my trans cool in the sand when it gets over 180 degrees

        So I m having some issues with my keyless entry and power locks in my 94

        So, I'm having some issues with my keyless entry and power locks in my 94.

        Half the time my remote doesn't work to unlock the doors, and more often then not neither does the button in the door, whether I'm locking or unlocking.

        Short somewhere? Bad wire?

        Has any one replaced theirs?

        I've contemplated replacing, but the PO tried to have the factory security alarm removed and the shop fucked it up, so now I have to press the unlock button on the factory key fob before the truck will start (disarms a security feature?). Would replacing my key fob mess with this? Or would I need to keep the old key fob?

          My 89 90k 351w paired to a c6 on 32s and 3 55 gears is making slightly less...

          My 89 90k 351w paired to a c6 on 32s and 3.55 gears is making slightly less than 190hp at the rear wheels, it's zero to 60 is almost 15 seconds on a half tank, and it will slightly lose speed on the freeway doing 65-70 up a 6% grade. I have a full 3" exhaust with a highflow x3 cat, brand new tps, fuel pump, complete ignition system, iac, new fluids except trans, good filters, and a ton of other upgrades. What is going on? I feel like it should have more power. I know it will never be quick, and that's not what I'm looking for; I just want to be able to merge into the freeway and be able to pass people! Any help is greatly appreciated.

            I have got a 90 FSB that is currently stock, I am looking for 4" of lift, Originally I wanted to keep the ttb, I talked to Solo Motorsports, extremely knowledgeable dude, and I'd love to buy his stage 2 kit, however $4k for a bronco I saved from the crusher for free is a bit too much for my income level, to have done even within the next few years. I have looked at sas, I am told that the D44HP from a 70's F-100/150 will basically be a bolt up with some modifications, the truck will me a mild off roader, my question is do you think any of the cheaper lift kits for the ttb, such as superlift or even bronco graveyards will give me any issues? I was told that if not done right it will essentially total the frame, also, Improved wheel travel is extremely preferable, any input?

              You know you truly love your bronco when you spend your entire week of vacation working on it because you can, not because you need to for the return to work at the end of the week. Bronco is getting brakes done, new power steering pump, coolant flush, oil change, spark plugs, wires, and distributor cap and button replacement, differentials drained and refill. Front unjoints, ball bearings, and wheel and spindle bearings. Rear wheel bearings. Transmission and transfer case flush and oil pressure sensor. And on top of that as parts are taken off, angle grinder is being used to remove surface rust buildup and parts are primed and painted as applicable.

                Ok guys need some advice... posted earlier but I'll give you guys the story... C6 tranny on my 89 went bad 800 bucks is what was told me it would cost to rebuild with a year warranty (which I know is a good price) but earlier I found a guy on FB near me who has a C6 that came off a 300 with transfer case that he will sell me for 75 bucks. He said it hasn't been ran in 4 years but ran great before that. Would you guys take the chance on this one which could save me around 550 bucks or go ahead with the rebuild? Need some real advice!                     At some point I am going to upgrade to extended radius arms but at the moment I do not have the money for that. Im curious how much abuse the stock radius arms and drop brackets will take. I wheel but nothing super hardcore. The trails Im on are decent like a 7 out of 10 on traildamage.com. Just curious if im in for some major damage or not as I am getting mixed reviews. Some say the only issues people really have is highspeed stuff with drop brackets but others have said when its flexing hard it can crack the frame. just trying to get an idea of what it will take. Like I said i will be upgrading when money allows just trying to get an idea for now.

After finishing all the work on my 95 Ford Bronco which includes a 4 inch lift 33 inch tires detroit truetracs front and rear and regearing to 4.56 I have a very slight noise at 60 miles an hour it almost sounds like the truck should be vibrating although it is not if there's any vibrations all it's very very minimal I'm trying to figure out what it is. I hear no noise coming from the rear end so I don't think that's the cause I'm wondering if my pinion angle is still slightly off?

                        Need advice on a lift kit, being that I've never bought one. I have a 93 XLT. I'm sure its been asked numerous times so please be kind. Mostly, it'll be used on the asphalt with some occasional off road use. I'm choosing between a BDS 4" w/leafs but without radius arms and extended brake lines vs JBG, with leaf's and traction bars but no shocks. The difference is $300. I still will use BDS shocks all around if I go with Jeffs Bronco Graveyard and that also includes extended brake lines. Labor and all for JBG is $2000, which is my budget. Is BDS that much better? Your thoughts, please.

                          Here s this question for the gazillionth time Truck back from shop They ran...

                          Here's this question for the gazillionth time. Truck back from shop. They ran smoke tests and fixed the vacuum leaks, as well as replacing the cracked intake plenum. If it's been left to cool down it'll idle real low to about 700rpm and then slowly drop from there until it dies unless I give it gas. Used to it idling around 900. I have to hold the gas for a few minutes and then it will idle fine with exception of not being steady for a moment. It will start up and idle fine if i haven't left it sit for long. It has a brand spanking new idle air control valve, presumably vacuum lines in order, not losing an absurd amount of gas, no leakage under the truck. Slight loss of power? or maybe I'm just too used to the car while the truck was in shop. '89 351w

                              Howdy folks. 89 FSB 5.8 101,000 miles. Couple questions:

                              1. How much is a rear main seal typically to replace? I'm not gonna do it, a shop will have to.

                              2. Cold starts, right away! Warm starts, it's almost like I've got a dead battery. Serious or typical? Starter, solenoid and battery I replaced last summer but would do it previously as well.

                              3. It doesn't have the original transmission. Leaks trans fluid slowly, from somewhere. Also when it's cold can't find first gear. It's got an AOD but door tag says I should have a c6 I believe. Should I swap it back to the stock one. Previous owners doing.

                                Not your normal tire size question, as I see it all the time on here asking what size for stock lift, I already know that answer, my question is a touch more specific. Got a 78 bronco, and the tires are at about 30% or less left, so a new set are in it's future and I would like to use tire size to help with highway rpm. Right now I have 31 inch tires on stock suspension, and at 70 mph I'm spinning about 3100 rpm. With the bored out 400, it makes it an unpleasant ride. The engine has the torque to move bigger tires with no issue but I don't want a suspension lift. Wondering if anyone has pictures or tell me what they had to do to fit 35-37 inch tires under stock springs. What I'd like to do is get cutout flares, the fenders have a little rust, so the flares should clean that up nice while getting the benefit of fitting larger tires. Any pictures of the 35-37/stock lift combo out there? What size rim and offset do you run to help with rubbing. The truck was an old airport tarmac truck and has what I believe are 4.10 gears as well as limited slip front and rear. 99% road use, so I'm not too worried about running the 35-37s on the stock 44/9 inch combo.

                                  The PO of my bronco deleted the spare tire carrier I picked one up for 25 and...

                                  The PO of my bronco deleted the spare tire carrier, I picked one up for $25 and added it back! The reinforcement for the carrier was already in place so it was fairly easy, just had to locate the holes and drill / clean them out. 5 of of the 8 on the quarter panel were easy, I just threaded a bolt from the inside and it pushed right through the coverup job done. The other three there wasn't enough clearance inside to thread a bolt so I bolted the carrier up, then center punched the holes from outside, them drilled. The tailgate mount was easier, the PO just used some type of caulking and linex'ed over it so there were simple to clean out. Got it all mounted up, now I'm going to take it apart and blast/paint it. I can't seem to find a before picture unfortunately.. not sure how I made that mistake. I did take some good video and i'll be putting it up on my youtube channel after I finish the paint. I love this look and can't believe the PO got rid of it.

I am super excited because Bullnose has always been my favorite, and this trucks body is mint. Thats saying a lot for an Ontario truck. But it has a 351m/400 big block in it. This will also be only the 2nd carburated truck I have ever owned, and the butterfly is currently stuck open. Does anyome know any tricks to get her flapping so I can limp it home? I would like to get it running asap. What about the 400, any advice about it? Thanks!! I will post pictures this week!!

                                      So I could use some help. My bronco is running a little rough. 89 full sized 5

                                      So I could use some help. My bronco is running a little rough. 89 full sized 5.0 v8 with BBK throttle body and headers. It's been sitting almost 3 months. Battery was dead so I charged it up. Bronco fired right up but is idling really weird. Would go from 1,500 rpm down to about 900 then sputter and drop to about 400-500rpm then rev back up to 1,500. The fuel in it is probably 6-9 months old and I live in the great NW which has a lot of rain and humidity. I decided to drive it to the gas station to get fresh fuel (was below 1/4 tank). I got some fuel injector cleaner and put it in and added about 10 gallons of gas. Was running a little smoother by now. The gas cap was cracking and bad so I went to oreilly and got a new cap and some sea foam to help clear out the possible moisture plus had them test the battery. The battery was going bad so got a new one under warranty. Cranked it over and it fired right up then died. Weird. Started driving home and at low rpms it almost felt like it had a slight misfire which was new. While driving home doing 55 mph it seemed to be doing well. Get home and it's idling high about 900-1,100rpm . Then it would drop rpm and sputter then rev then back to idle(didn't always sputter too bad but still random rpm changes). So questions are what could this be? Bad fuel or? I took a short video to try and catch what it was doing(I am not hitting the throttle it's doing the spikes on its own). Sorry long post but wanted to give a full description.

                                        1995 ford bronco 351 automatic body's rough and Trans is going out but the motor runs strong and tons of new parts it's inspected till April it was my daily driver but I bought a pickup and don't have the room or time to fix it...

                                        New, starter, starter relay, throttle position sensor, new radiotor, new manual locking hubs, wheel bearings, new tires less than 500 miles on them, cap and rotor, new distributor, newer brake pads, rotors, and calipers.... I think there is more that I can't think of off the top of my head I spent over 2 grand about a year ago on parts I have receipts for most of it, I also have a set of two new replacement rocker panels, and a 2 in leveling kit, and dual steering stabilizers that come with it....

                                        It needs the interior redone, needs body work, rockers replaced and the floor patched at the rockers, the roof has a dent and a hole from fog lights that someone has patched, the tailgate is patched on the bottom, the window does not go up, the quaters were patched but are starting to Crack , front suspension is getting old and loose, steering is sloppy, the drive for the trans is starting to slip when it gets hot, it will run 85mph all day long but needs alot of work that I don't have time to do, it has no problem starting after it sits for awhile holds a charge with no problem, and the 4wd works great... clean and clear title located in Columbia PA asking $ 1500 obo price is negotiable either fix or tear apart for parts lots of good parts...please look at all the pics

                                          I have a transmission question. My 1990 bronco with e4od is throwing a code 622 - shift solenoid. Seems odd that it would just go out with no warning. I removed the wiring harness and checked to ensure it was good - no knicks, burnt spots or broken wires. Reinstalled it and it worked for the day. Now it is back to hunting the correct gear. If i feather the accelerator, it seems to change gears correctly. However, any type of acceleration under a load and the transmission jumps all around trying to find the right gear. I replaced the MLPS and another site recommended the vss (i haven't checked it yet). Not looking to install new parts untill it is fixed. Anyway to diagnosis a shift solenoid. Based on the issue ithat it works one day and not the next, i believe it is electrical. Any thoughts?

                                            OK so I'm going to probably ask some dumb questions, but here goes...

                                            I have an 89 at stock ride height. Pretty much made up my mind that I'm going with a 4" lift and 33" tires.

                                            As it sits now, the front end is lower than the rear (pretty normal as I understand it) but will a 4" lift make the front end go up 4" and the rear 2"? Or is it just 4" front and back?

                                            Does this vary by manufacturer?

                                            When I bought it, the leveling kit parts were included, would it be smart to use the leveling kit in conjunction with the lift kit?

                                            Any recommendations for a kit that's a bit nicer than Rough Country? Looking mostly for decent ride quality once it's one.

                                                1) Wait until Saturday, drive to auto parts store and buy a case of oil, filter, kitty litter, hand cleaner and a scented tree, pay $50.00.

                                                2) Stop and buy a case of beer, pay $20, drive home.

                                                3) Open a beer and drink it.

                                                4) Jack car up. Spend 30 minutes looking for jack stands.

                                                5) Find jack stands under kid's pedal car.

                                                6) In frustration, open another beer and drink it.

                                                7) Place drain pan under engine..

                                                8) Look for 13mm box end wrench.

                                                9) Give up and use crescent wrench.

                                                10) Unscrew drain plug.

                                                11) Drop drain plug in pan of hot oil: splash hot oil on you in process. Cuss.

                                                12) Crawl out from under car to wipe hot oil off of face and arms. Throw kitty litter on spilled oil.

                                                13) Have another beer while watching oil drain.

                                                14) Spend 30 minutes looking for oil filter wrench.

                                                15) Give up; crawl under car and hammer a screwdriver through oil filter and twist off.

                                                16) Crawl out from under car with dripping oil filter splashing oil everywhere from holes. Cleverly hide old oil filter among trash in trash can to avoid environmental penalties. Drink a beer.

                                                17) Install new oil filter making sure to apply a thin coat of oil to gasket surface.

                                                18) Dump first quart of fresh oil into engine.

                                                19) Remember drain plug from step 11.

                                                20) Hurry to find drain plug in drain pan.

                                                21) Drink beer.

                                                22) Discover that first quart of fresh oil is now on the floor. Throw kitty litter on oil spill.

                                                23) Get drain plug back in with only a minor spill. Drink beer.

                                                24) Crawl under car getting kitty litter into eyes. Wipe eyes with oily rag used to clean drain plug. Slip with stupid crescent wrench tightening drain plug and bang knuckles on frame removing any excess skin between knuckles and frame.

                                                  Hi, I have question about rear axle. We have heavy camper shell on our Bronco and stock rear ford 8.8 axle isnt not too strong for this setup. What is the best solution for our case? I have now inside new axle shafts from Yukon, truetrac. So for me is best solution (cheaper) build up that 8.8.

                                                  I want disc brakes there and definitely I dont want to return situation like on the picture that wheel comes out :(

                                                  Do you think it is good idea to build up our 8.8 or it will be better to build up some bigger one. 9", 10.25 or D60? But car is heavy so I want to made it lighter not havier like with D60 :)

                                                  What is the best solution for beef up 8.8 with disc brakes.

                                                    I have my 93 in the pics current stock rims and 31 inch brand new (about 200 miles on them) good year wranglers that were on it when I got it.

                                                    I am wanting to get 33s with either an 18 or 16 inch rim good for off and on road. Wanting to get rims and tires with a good bit of offset and would look nice on this truck that just had a 2 inch body lift. I was thinking 12.5 inch wide. I want them to stick out a slight bit past the fenders. Any suggestions. Want an off road tire with the best bang for the buck. Daily driver but don't car about noise because the truck is already pound and current tires are loud to and it doesn't bother me.

                                                    Post pics if you have them, if not just give suggestions.

                                                      Got some parts in today. ford racing plug wires, MSD cap, aeromotive adjustable fuel pressure regulator, still waiting on the lokar engine dipstick. Also placed an order for a 80mm mass air meter housing and a custom K&N air intake which fiveology racing and got a cat from flowmaster coming. just have to get the exhaust done, alternator, ps pump, belt tensioner, a chip burned to run the 466, and tie up tue lose ends and shell be ready to go. Also gave my 96 a good hand wash dor the first time since ive had it

                                                        I am getting some conflicting information on timing for my Bronco I got the...

                                                        I am getting some conflicting information on timing for my Bronco. I got the timing set correctly then a tech put the dongle back in and revved the engine and noted that the timing did not advance. 1990 bronco 351W with edelbrock intake and speed density RV cam. The bronco is speed density. Then another mechanic said you will not see the timing advance because the truck is not under a load. He was certain that the advance was working well even though you could not watch it advance unless you were under way with high RPM's. Who knows the answer to this. I have been dealing with this for a few months with conflicting information and there are zero videos out there showing the timing advancement when revving the engine. If any of you really nice fellas out there want to take a video of your timing, with the dongle in place and show it advancing when revved or show that it does not I would apprecieate it. or just satisfy your own curiosity by trying it and let meknow what happens. I dont know anyone near me with a speed density Bronco that I can try it on and see it mine works the same. It has to be speed density to confirm it is like mine. HELP!! I need to move on with other projects on the truck and I want to confirm it is running right before any heavy driving or pulling.

I gotta sell my 82 bronco lariat project (I have two more projects and no more time sadly) she has a 351W and C6 Auto Trans, new alterane tires, new 4 barrel edlebrock carb and manifold, new flowmaster exhaust, new water pump, new alternator, new battery, new fuel pump, etc. It is non op right now and title in hand (salvage due to being stolen once from previous owner). I've gotten terrible offers and having a hard time finding a good price. She's not pretty cosmetically, but was built to hit trails and help in recoveries. Thanks in advance.

                                                            I have a TTB Dana 50 from a 91 F250 center that needs a new home. I have some odds and ends from the front axle as well. I also have OEM Ford coil buckets, Radius arms, and Radius arm brackets as well from a 2WD 1995 F250. The Coil buckets carry a different part number, but look identical to an F150/Bronco bucket. I am assuming they are a heavier steel, with the same stamp. NEW FORD Buckets are 130 and 160 each. The suspension brackets are OEM Powdercoat, they have never been sandblasted, painted, or cleaned. From a Texas Truck.

I have the opportunity to get both Danas out of an 02 f350 with 3.73 gears, and I am putting a Cummins in this truck. But I've always felt that the light feel and tight turn radius of the Bronco is a large part of what makes it fun. The Cummins only adds 400 lbs to it, not planning to beat on the truck, but rather to build the last vehicle I plan to own, and make it very low maintenance. How does the straight axle bronco feel when you are driving it? Just don't want to take away from the FUN factor?

                                                                How do i know if these hubs work for my bronco and if I have all the parts OR if I should need something from the parts house when replacing them. I don't know what the hell a race is or whatever the guy on YouTube called it. I do see it has a metal c clip midway down the outside of the hub and all the Allen screws. The lock works but it tough to turn lol. The mechanism inside appears to raise and lower as I spin the dial. Any other things to check to see if they're any good? My current passage hub gives a clickity clickity click when prompted to lose traction, if you're picking up what I'm putting down. I think it's the mechanism connected to the dial that holds in into 4wd. It also clicks when I jack up the front, locked and in 4x4, and spin the tire backwards. Every inch the tire spins backwards it clicks.

I went somewhere, stopped, went in for an hr and came back out. When I started it up the brake light was on but the parking brake wasnt engaged. Wouldn't go off so I drove off. Then the od light was flashing on and off, trans wouldn't shift, blinkers didn't work but the flashers did. Stopped, shut it off, same thing but with the check engine light on. Shut it off for 10mins, turned on, lights are all off and blinker is working again. Any clue what happened?

                                                                    Here is my recently purchased 1990 Bronco XLT! Its got a replacement 351W from a 1996 with about 90K on it, E40D Tranny riding on 33x12.5 Micky Thompsons.

                                                                    Some upgrades I plan to do, maybe not in this order:

                                                                    - Re-gear front and rear diffs to 4:11 or 4.56 (undecided)

                                                                    - 4" Suspension lift

                                                                    - 35x12.5 Tires after mine wear out

                                                                    - Long tube headers with true dual exhaust

                                                                    - Roll bars for back

                                                                    - Cut out fender flares

                                                                    - Custom mount fuel storage to rear wheel mount

                                                                    - Upgraded front bumper with added winch

                                                                    But before I can afford any of those, I first need to fix a few little (hopefully little) issues.

                                                                    - Front most passenger side shock absorber is toast

                                                                    - Engine idles rough sometimes, seems like its missing spark

                                                                    - OD light is flashing on and off, started that yesterday :(

                                                                    - Fix rusty areas, not too worried tho as its mostly a fishing/hunting truck

                                                                      The transmissions are the same (E40D)

My 96 XLT 5.8 with 132k makes what I described a rattle, marbles rattling sound while accelerating. It's done this since I got the truck with 79k on it 6 years ago. It does it while I'm physically on gas or in cruise control and truck accelerates to maintain speed on inclines. The harsher the acceleration the louder the rattle is. There is no sound while coasting or driving at steady speed. I have particularly poor "get-up" as speed and rpm increases slowly even with accelerator pressed hard, but sometimes you feel the truck almost switch gears and the rattle get quiet and speed and rpm increases considerably quicker but only after really flooring the gas pedal or cruise control accelerates hard. I can't tell where it's coming from, I think either dash or tranny. My 93 mustang LX 2.3 with 134k just started doing this too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So naturally the first thing I did was look into a new air intake. Mine was stock with a K&N filter inside it. I am not a big fan of K&N because I usually drive diesels and well there's a lot better choices out there for diesels than K&N. Anyways I start looking and well the selection was almost non-existant. The K&N was over $300. I kept looking for something cheater finally it became apparent that Summitt had the cheapest prices. I found one for a lil more than $200 from Trick Flow. Upon reading the reviews it sounded like a complete copy of the K&N even using K&N parts. So I ordered it. And it is not a copy it is the same damn thing. It says Trick Flow no where expect the Enviromental sticker thing. Everywhere else said K&N it is K&N the entire way. So if your looking for a air intake look into Trick Flow and save some money. As for performance it ain't been on 24 hours but I am definitely liking what I have seen so far.

Not for offroading, just aesthetics. A bunch of friends recommended rough country kits, and due to the fact I don't have the tools to deal with the problems I'll run into, I brought it to a local shop. Local shop specializes in off road rigs and says he won't even touch a rough country kit, but conveniently has a 3000 setup for me, of course.

                                                                                  What's up fellas I've got a question, I have a 94...The headlights and running lights won't come on together all of a sudden. I figured the switch was worn out and replaced it with a extra I took off a parts bronco. It worked OK for a day or two but you had too be really easy pulling the lights on because it's like at a certain point all the lights would come on together but a hair forward or back one or the other would go off. So I bought a brand new switch and still the same bunch of shit...Is there a fuse for this or is it maybe a short somewhere I'm puzzled. This weekend I plan to get it hopefully straightened out so any advice is very appreciated

The 302 is stock mostly or should I get a c4 I've heard that will bolt with no issues but have read mixed about the c6

                                                                                        OK guys/gals, need some advice here. I rebuilt my 351w at 165k down to the heads. Had a blown head gasket. I had them machined at a local shop as well as replaced the rocker arms and push rods seals in the heads. I did not take the drive shaft and pistons out. Patches now has 215k and developed a coolant leak. I think that the water pump may be the culprit, but I noticed the heater hose? (you can see it in the picture running up around the fire wall behind the dip stick ) is leaking over on the passenger side, and I'm guessing it's coolant because it's green. Also when I noticed her leaking, the passenger side of the motor was wet as well as around the water pump. My question is that I'm thinking of a full rebuild. . . . But would it be cheaper to buy a reman or crate roller and transplant? Or pay a shop to rebuild this one? I've tried looking up replacement motors on Google but all the darn sights want you to give them your email and/or call them. Does anyone have a link to a reman/ crate motor sight? Anyone here ever bought a reman or crate ? Any info would be appreciated!

                                                                                          My truck has been down since thanksgiving day last year and I can finally say that she is back fully operational (minus dead tags). It's been a long road with a lot of headache with this engine swap but bolted last part on yesterday and she roared back to life. My old girl had her first heart transplant after 27 years. I'm overjoyed that's she's alive again. Been without her for 3 months now. The final outcome was 2739$ by the end of the swap from 5.8 to 5.0. Until I can rebuild the 5.8. Just wanted to share the good news cause I is happy now. Lol. On a side note blew headgaskets and lost oil pressure but she started and drove herself into the shop for the procedure. BUILT FORD TOUGH

I want to go with either a 4 or 6 inch (not sure yet) and 33s or 35s (not sure yet on this either). Main deciding factor is the fact I wouldn't mind it being able to still fit in the garage. But anyways sorry got off track. I'm trying to decide what brand to go with. I was going to go with BDS or Skyjacker but of course they are super expensive. I wanted to go with new leafs and Extended Radius Arms. Well now I'm not sure. I'm having people tell me that I don't need all of that if I'm not going to be off-roading it much (it's my daily driver) and that rough country would be just fine. What do you guys think. I mean if rough country will be fine I'd be more than happy to get that considering how much cheaper it would be but of course I don't want something that's going to be falling apart in 6 months either.                                                                                                   When I go to turn my truck on the starter starts to turn the motor but locks up after a quick half second spin and the belt stops spinning all together. I kind of feel like there is a warped spot somewhere and if the starter doesn't start spinning right after the warp in the rotation it will get held up, but if it does get to start spinning at that spot the truck will just hardly turn over before it gets stuck again.

                                                                                                  Once the truck turns on it seems like maybe a cylinder isn't hitting the way it is supposed to until it warms up, then they all sound harmonic... I tried to shoot a video but of course my truck started up just fine

                                                                                                    I have my 4x4 in low when I parked. I undid the lugs, jacked up the passenger side wheel, and noticed I couldn't spin the wheel fwd, however I could spin it backwards. Every half inch the wheel turns, my hub dial clicks, sounds like something is trying to hold onto/catch the plastic hub dial and let's go, almost like making a fan oscillate then holding the fan to keep it from oscillating, if that makes sense.

                                                                                                    If I unlock the hub it let's the wheel spin free backward and fwd and no clicking. Relock it and it won't go fwd but will go backwards and click again...

                                                                                                    I have had a heavy binding every so often that doesn't seem to happen under any specific circumstance , although it happens more frequently while turning then when not. It sounds like it's coming from the passanger side wheel for the most part. I have been assuming it was something in the steering or stabilizer bar slipping, however I replaced my box and tie rod ends and it's still happening, but way less frequently.

                                                                                                    It's sad that I have to write this in such a great group, but if you are salty or think I'm asking a stupid question, please keep scrolling down your feed.                                                                                                         Back when I was about 7 years old I was doing a ride along with my uncle. But there was this lady an her 2 daughters in a 87 bronco Eddie Bauer 100% stock. But the bronco was going through a intersection at 40mph doing the speed limit. The lady in the bronco was t-boned by a 1 ton pick up who had run the red light at 55 or faster. It sent the bronco into the air rolled about 4 to 5 time then slid a good couple yards on the roof. The lady and her 2 daughter had lived with very little cuts and no broken bones just a little beat up. Ever since that day I've fell in love with the Broncos even more seeking how though they are and how they saved the lady and her 2 daughters.

                                                                                                          I've owned 3 Broncos in my lifetime. The 1st was 82, my dad bought for me when I turned 16. It was originally Brown but I worked all summer so I could paint it red. It did not have a top but a factory fiberglass back shell that made it look like a pickup. Wish I would have never sold it. 2nd was a 95 XLT that my Mom found when I was stationed in Alaska she knew that I wanted my old Bronco back so she bought it. I was so jellioush at firat but elated when she sold it to me. Drove it for 2 years till the new F150 came out in 04. Thought I wanted a new truck and I loved that F150 sadly hurricane Katrina thought that it should be a boat instead of a truck so that was short lived. Since Katrina I have driven more cars and trucks than I care to mention, nine. But I always talked about my Broncos and always new that what I'm supposed to drive. So last year I approached my wife about wanting to buy a new one and she was all for it. So I searched all of Texas and could not find the right one. Either priced to high or not the right color or jacked up. So by chance I was searching eBay and found my 3rd Bronco all the way in California. Called the guy up negotiated the price and had it shipped to Texas for its new home. Longest 5 days of my life. Well now I've had my Bronco for a year and I love every single day I climb in the driver's seat. I will never sale this Bronco, infact I've already prommised it to my son for his first truck, he is 4. I hope Ford does the Bronco justice and gives us something that makes us all proud. Any ways sorry this was long but I have been wanting to share this for sometime.

                                                                                                            Info: 1996 Ford Ranger XLT 3.0 automatic rwd with 5 inch skyjacker lift. 88k miles. I had the rear axle professionally built. Upgraded to Ford Racing 4:10 ring and pinion, Detroit Truetrac mechanical limited slip. Yes it's a lifted 2wd but this thing gets me anywhere. It'll keep up with 4wds off-road and surprise you with what it can handle. Most reliable vehicle I've owned.

I was planning on running my factory 95 eb upper coil buckets but it's causing my +6 coil springs to bow out. My question is this, what upper coil mounts are you using. I'm looking at 1500 just for long arms, shocks, mounts etc. Is it worth it? I plan it being a daily driver/rescue recovery trail truck. Also any pics and measurements are greatly appreciated. The sumbitch had my truck for a full month and $1500 later the damn truck has the same issue. Low oil pressure and lifter tap. The only thing that was fixed (yet I still haven't verified this yet) is a fixed rear main seal. Guy replaced my thermostat and hoses as well while he had it and the stupid thing runs warmer than it did when I gave it to him. $1500 damn dollars.

                                                                                                                New wheels and tires will be here on Tuesday. I should have saved the money on that and just got a new motor.

Is true duals without cats but still running stock pipe size on stock manifolds better then running true duals with cats performance wise? I currently am dumping straight out of the cat on my 86 with 5.0 and noticed no loss of low end. I have read many opinions saying eliminating cats will cause loss of low end because of loss of back pressure. But then you have the old school who say running true duals will run stronger because engine breaths better and to add headers to top off the upgrade. If performance is so much better why wouldn't the manufacturer just build it that way (guessing cost)?

                                                                                                                    Have a quick question, my bronco is a 96 XL that came factory with manual windows and door locks, however the previous owner converted the interior to eddie bauer and installed power windows. Since I have the lock switches on the door panels now, how hard would it be to install the power locks into the doors? Had a bunch of stuff stolen from my truck last night because I often forget to lock my passenger door due to having to lean over and lock it by hand. Pic of the mess they left inside my truck after throwing the contents of my center console and glove box everywhere.

I purchased my 1989 with a 351/5.8 from the second owner and from what i see i sat at home for the most part it only has just under 61,000 original miles but as we all know you leave a car sitting for years and you will have some issues anyway i want to re build my engine to try and get more power and torque out of it my main gaol is to be able to tow a nice toy houler but with out the worry of over heating or breaking down i just finished dropping almost 2k on just parts and i did all the labor my self but is still not where i think i might need to be so the question is should i get another 351 re doit and beefed it up/or drop a 7.3 power stroke and has anyone done that? Any and all advice will be appreciated and thank you in advance.

                                                                                                                          Hi everyone, need some help, I posted on here a few months ago about how even after replacing the front u joint, shocks, ball joints, axle pivot bushings, and steering system I'm still getting repetitive body shake on the highway. Its a lot better than before but I do a lot of highway driving and its driving me crazy. I checked the pinion angle and its fine. After all this I think my driveshaft is the problem. It is pretty rusted and the u joints seems pretty worn out. Instead of going through the hassle of rebuilding it I want to buy a new one. I tried to loosen the bolts on it but they're pretty stuck so I'm going to have my buddy's shop do it. I found the right driveshaft (I think) on JBG but I wanted to make sure it was the right one. Also how do i know what other parts I will need? They recommend the transfer case flange, the pinion flange and new bolts. How can I figure out what I need? I plan on rebuilding the rear axle at some point this spring or summer too. Thanks.

She blew the coolant everywhere, found the radiator cap on the other side of the motor, I have hardly any oil in there only coolant in addition to externally leaking oil, she runs like a son of a bitch without the throttle being open, two windows now are non functional, the tranny leaks now, starting to have issues starting. Hot damn I need a better job if this is how it's gonna go.

I have had her for a little over 2 years and mainly years it for off roading

To make a long story short, ended up having to replace the driver's side head due to a snapped bolt. In the midst of taking everything apart, the oil pressure sending unit connector broke. Getting a replacement was a bit of a nightmare. Ended up getting a Duralast through autozone. Since the truck was late getting to the store and the manager knowing what I went through, they price matched Rockauto. So what was originally a $65 part ended up being $37. I didn't know they did that. Get home and open the box and pull out a Ford OEM package. Yahtzee!!

                                                                                                                                  Hey gals and guys I need a bit more input and help with what's happening with my truck. I have the Overflow problem and my reservoir all my radiator coolant is getting pushed into the reservoir about a gallon and leaving the radiator low on fluid which is overheating my truck. I just put a second brand new water pump on a new radiator all radiator fluid and a thermostat and I just put a 16 pound radiator cap on their and the first day it seems to run fine the next day in the morning it started doing the same exact thing. Which is running hot. All your advice will really be appreciated. It's a brand new motor with 600 miles on it so it's really stressing me out

Reason being my ole jovie the bronco aint doin too good so she got pulled in the back yard today to start the very long and tedious task of a body restoring so for now im happy with it but sad because me and that old jovie have some miles together and shes been thru hell with me last couple years so i feel its time to give her a face lift for now my new ride is a heavy 3/4 ton f250 im the second owner its got the 351 w with a five speed and a granny gear and 1 ton axles so far she perfect minor thing and the body is damn near rust free minimal work amd shell be back to her former glory so shes a good choice to handle the reigns while the pride and joy gits her life restored to original

Since my water got in my oil, every bit of it has to be taken out right? Does he have to drop my oil pan and get every drip of water?? Also how much oil will I be replacing? He said 'atleast 5.5 qts' but I thought it held more than that.

                                                                                                                                      What a fkn project man. Glad I'm not doing this one. It's all apart and in half. Sad to see but when he got the heads off he said it was rebuilt and so new that you can still see the machine marks in the cylinders. We couldn't find where the Gasket actually gave out, he looked several times and couldn't spot it.

My bronco use to be my daylie, my only vehicle and I've always loved it, but now its more of my toy, it spends most of the time in my shop that you see in the second pic and I drive my other vehicles due to economy. But every now and again I get it out to play with or just to drive, and today I did both. For me my bronco is more then a vhehicle its a firend, and before you say I'm totaly crazy bare with me. When I drive my bronco yes it loud, your costantly turning the wheel just to stay in the lane its bulky, but I'm at pice with the world I'm relaxed, I'm just enjoying the drive. And with my other vehicles I just don't get that. Sadly many don't have any clue what I'm talking about, but I have a very good feeling alot of people here do. Sometimes I forget what its like to own and drive a bronco... But all it takes is one drive.

                                                                                                                                          There comes a time when you have to be real with yourself. A while back I took on the task of restoring a 1989 Ford Bronco, I even joined this group as a way of getting parts and such from other Bronco enthusiast. Later, I even bought a fully running 1980's era F150 4x4 that had an ugly body for extra parts.

                                                                                                                                          I have sadly come to the realization that I am never going to have time to complete these projects and it is time to let them go.

                                                                                                                                          Up for sale are my two RUNNING 80's era Ford Trucks. The Bronco has a VERY rough (Dented) body all around and only a driver's seat. The Gas tank has a problem with the pickup tube so it runs from a a fuel tank (temporarily) under the hood. The Fuel injection was swapped out for a Carb and Full tube headers were installed. Pictures to follow.

                                                                                                                                          The F150 is just plain ugly but runs. Both are 4x4's and the f150 could realistically be hooked to a car dolly and pull the Bronco home. Clean, Clear Florida Titles for both. Asking $1200 OBO for both. Can pickup any time. I will add pictures of the F150 when I get to work this afternoon.

                                                                                                                                            Hey all just a friendly reminder to wear some eye protection while your working under your vehicles. This didn't happen under mine, but the odds of this happening under your rusty truck are fairly high. At work yesterday I got a small steel piece embedded in my eye. Realizing this wasn't something me or local docs could handle I went to the hospital and then to another hospital, finally got the piece removed and had this "rust ring" in my eye ball grinded out. All this might have been prevented had I been wearing some eye protection. Luckily my vision wasn't affected but any closer to the center and my vision could have been permenantly affected. I never thought that it would happen to me, but i'll definitely be wearing a set of safety glasses working under any of my cars from now on. Trust me this is not an experience you want to be able to share. Needless to say this was the final straw with my job and i'll be quitting before any worse injuries can occur, before you say "oh you are just a dumbass", no. I work in a welding and steel shop. Each of the guys I work with have permenant physical injury from this line of work. They have been doing this their whole lives. Missing a finger, damaged eye sight, toes gone, plenty of scars. Paycheck isn't worth injuring yourself over. If you are debating leaving your job for similar reasons, leave now before something bad happens. I'm just lucky. Really damn lucky.

                                                                                                                                              Hey guys, this is my father in laws Bronco. 1991 with a 5.8. Picture was the day we bought it. We have been rebuilding it bit by bit. We are now on to the exhaust.. whats on it is just shotty workmanship, pipes are at wrong angles, and almost touch the floor over the axles and nearly hits the gas tank before exiting out the left and right at wrong angles again and don't fully exit the body of the truck. We intend to solve all that, but.. we want to get an exhaust system that won't drone in the cabin, and keep the exhaust out of the rear window...assuming that left and right exits will be the way to go. He currently has true duals, the left bank and right bank never meet. To me this looks like a factory setup up to the mufflers about midway, The pipes run down to the passengers side with catalytic converters up to about mid way and then it is where the hackjob starts. < does that sound factory? or would a 5.8 had two pipes collect to a Ypipe? What do you guys run.. what do we need to steer clear of.. obviously no chambered mufflers.

Looking for a good performing not loud and no drone setup. ( he has turbos now and he is ok with that sound.. but they are cheapos and sound like they are backed up. ) Thanks guys!

                                                                                                                                                I have a question and hoping that i can get some help here, on Sunday i was driving home and out of nowhere my bronco died pull to the side and try to starting it and when it would start it sounded like it was running out of air or something like that so i though maybe the air filter is durty or the cats got plug so i disconnected the the flanges and pull the air filter but it still doest it then i though maybe is not getting gas so i took the fuel filter and put a hole through it just in case but it still does the same thing any ideas thank you all in advance

                                                                                                                                                  351 5.8L V8, 167700 miles, recently replaced alternator, ac compressor, starter, 31" A/T Grabber tires 80% tread. I have a new ac condenser for her, just haven't put it on. Has rust on quarter panels, runs and drives(was my daily driver for the past year). I put in a JVC stereo and has a bazooka bass tube with a 1200w American legacy amp. Needs a rear leaf spring shackle on drivers side and I also have the drivers side step but it is currently off. Clean truck originally from Amarillo, TX. Title in hand. The OJ Simpson special, AKA Nicole. Pretty firm at $4000... no low ballers, make me an offer. Sold as is you pick her up, could drive her home today!

                                                                                                                                                    Selling my super clean 88 bronco 351w automatic showing 28k on the clock. She's been passed around like a bottle of crown. Been on a deer lease the last 10 years. The whole brake system was replaced April of 2016. Has pass. Valve cover gasket leak. Rear window has new motor but still don't work from the switch. AC worked but no longer blows cold but compressor still runs so it may just be low on freon. Tires are about 50-60%. She starts right up with no smoke. This is one fine machine, rust free except rear fender wells above the tires but nothing major. Tailgate is solid. She's ugly dookie brown but is a solid truck. Since she's so clean I'll start the bidding at $10,500.

                                                                                                                                                      Hello everyone. My names Tylor, and im new to the group. I'd like to thank Jason Williams for accepting me into the group. I currently dont own a bronco at the moment, but i have only ever owned Ford's (77' F-350, 89;F-250, 92' F-250, and 94' Ranger). I do however have a question retaining to the bronco alliance. I have available a D50 TTB, and a Sterling 10.25 axles both in my 92" ford F-250. Leaf sprung front end w/ manual hubs. both 3.55 gears. I've been trying to figure out how to use both those axles on a bronco, if and when i got one. The rear would be easy (cut the perches and rotate the axle to get the driveshaft angle proper, and re-weld the perches). But the front i have a few options. I could use the 50 internals in the 44 front (A) assuming all broncos came with a D44 front and B) i have no idea what would work on what to what), i could leaf spring swap the front end, but that would basically ruin the ride, suspension, and tires. Or, i could bolt the outers to the pumpkin, but if i recall the drivers side was way to short? The end goal no matter what would be to use the sterling in the rear regardless, and have the same 8 on 6.5 bolt pattern all the way around. And before you say it, cause i know you already thought it, NO SAS. I wouldn't have the cash for a SAS, and i alreadt have the entire drivetrain to a F-250 diesel... so ya. Thanks everyone.

I've paid a good friend who owns his own mechanic shop to help me. After driving it for a short time, it has a short of sort. We took it to Ford and they can't find anything wrong that we haven't ran down. Looks like it may be a short in the wiring harness. Thoughts?

                                                                                                                                                          Thinking about swapping it over to carburetor but then my tranny won't shift as it should because it uses the throttle body idle air control and TPS to control the timing and shifting of the tranny.

                                                                                                                                                          Maybe convert to a 4 or 5 speed and carburetor on the motor? I'm dead in the water and too far in to just let it go. :(

It is basically 100% stock now and I'm looking for better reliability and a little performance. Ill be doing some upgrades when I get home from my

                                                                                                                                                                So, I have decided to make the switch to EFI and I like the FI-tech. Ill be going the Sherman Tank 23 Gallon Fuel tank from wild horses as well. What I don't know is what 4 bbl intake and what Ignition to go with. I am open to recommendations. I know it will cost a little bit but I want to keep cost down.a little as we all do :) I think I'll also have to redo the ignition as well. Pretty sure I still have points.

                                                                                                                                                                I also plan to get longer radius arms to help the front flex a little better. Lol

                                                                                                                                                                Ill also be putting on headers, short or long, not sure yet. The engine sounds like it might have a mild cam. My Grandpa built this bronco and was a damn good mechanic so who knows what he did. lol anyways, whatcha got?

I'm looking for new bumpers, but can't find much under $1000 and I'm not looking to go with a huge piece of steel that's gonna add more unnecessary weight. I'm already going to add a rooftop tent. Also the damn mirrors. I replaced the stock ones because they would go off adjustment driving down the freeway, so I bought these at Summit. They were only like 5 bucks a piece so I thought "oh sweet deal. Drilled the holes and mounted fine then the same god damn garbage happened. Any suggestions?

                                                                                                                                                                    Can vacuum leaks/ vac lines in the wrong place cause a high idle and/or squealing? I've ruled out belts and pulleys. PCV valve? The hose? Anything? Can't run the truck at the moment but I'd like to have things to look for when I fix the other issue. I tried using threads on all the forums around but there were always lines present on mine unaccounted for in said threads. I fucked up and forgot to take a picture before taking them all off initially... Ended up having to replace pretty much all of them due to cracking. So far both chiltons and haynes manuals also have not assisted me. I don't have the diagram under the hood, it's worn off. What does everyones tree on the intake plenum look like for a '87-'89 5.8? Pictures if possible. I've been scouring the net and nobody seems to have pointers and nobody I've asked thus far has been able to help.

Ran fine never had issue till it warmed up would spit sputter but still get up and go. Did the easy air filter fuel filter. Still coughed at me if I put my foot in it. Couldn't figure it out until tonight rolling cruise control at 69 died nothin side of the road. My 10 year old son goin dad do we need a tow truck I'm not gonna make to the birthday party am I? I said calm down let's see what we can figure out. After sittin on the side of the highway for maybe 8 minutes I find my coil wire hanging on by a thread. Lucky for me I don't leave home without my pocket razor knife.

I replaced the EGR Solenoid the other day. Also, my issue hasn't come up again (Check engine, high RPM, hard shifting) since I replaced that solenoid AND I also changed out the rear ABS Sensor with a VSS sensor.

I've been looking at kits from multiple companies and really like the solomotorsports stage 4 kit. I'm not gonna be able to fork out the cash for it all at once or it's gonna sit there forever. My truck needs the front end gone though it's sloppy as all hell and has a bad wobble above 40. So if I'm tearing that down I wanna start building towards that stage 4. Where's a good starting point that can be upgraded over time without buying parts and replacing them again when upgrades happen. Like a modular kit fully operational but can be upgraded over time?

My dad bought this 96 bronco back in November of 1999. At that time I had just turned 5 years old and he told me that one day it would be mine. Fast forward to 2010 I got my license and he gave me the bronco. It was my pride and joy. 104,000 miles with a 5.0 and a 5 speed standard. On September 16, 2011 I wrecked on my way to school (junior in high school). Broke my hip, tail bone and ruptured 2 discs in my neck. Healed up just fine about 2 months later but still haven't been able to find another bronco like it.

                                                                                                                                                                              Twice the same symptoms. Changed lower intake manifold gasket as it was leaking only oil there. Used the supplied cork gaskets and no sealer on '89 351w the first time I did it. When I started it back up, screeching under the hood from unknown source and white smoke out the tail pipe and coolant in the oil. The coolant in radiator and reservoir was clean of any oil, though. I figured I did it wrong so I tried again, this time using gasket maker in water ports and end seals as I was recommended, then even torqued all the manifold bolts to spec and in the right order too which I didn't do last time. Waited until the next day and put all the other things back together. Same exact thing happened. Coolant in oil, clean coolant, white smoke, screeching which I thought was pcv valve hose was no better even after I made damn sure the hose was tight. I don't see how a head gasket would blow out on me directly after changing an entirely different gasket but I put a lot of effort into doing this right and I don't think it's my own fuck up, and then there's the fucking screeching. No unplugged or loose vac lines that I could see and no seized pulleys and belts are okay. Had someone listen and they said it wasn't coming from belt. Long winded post but I'm truly speechless and ready to torch the thing or swap for a diesel since the rest is in decent shape. It's my first truck and I'd hate to have to ditch the poor thing but I'm making shit money all of a sudden. Shit is starting to cost too much and hit my skill limits. Is it time to let her go? Tranny even drips but I'm pretty sure it's just the fluid pan on the bottom.

                                                                                                                                                                                I'm at my wit's end here. I'm absolutely losing my mind. I'm having massive electrical issues. (For reference, 1988 Fullsize EB w/ 302 and auto trans)

                                                                                                                                                                                So I started off with an issue that made it so I couldn't fire up my truck after a long drive, it would act as though my battery drained (ie a bad alternator)

                                                                                                                                                                                I replaced damn near everything. Starter, starter solenoid, alternator, battery, etc... Didn't solve the problem

                                                                                                                                                                                It sat for a while because of my frustration.

                                                                                                                                                                                Fast-forward a year. I decided to get her running again. Got a new battery, plug wires (mine were shot from sitting against the manifold), new throttle-body (mine was stuck WOT), fired her up, and she ran great (still with the old issue of not firing up after driving for a while)

                                                                                                                                                                                THEN I started running into new issues. When I would hit a bump, my truck would sputter and die. Then it got progressively worse, and if I drove it more than 1/8 mile it would sputter and die.

                                                                                                                                                                                There will be a few other tidbits of information I'll think of after I post this, that I'll add later.

                                                                                                                                                                                Any input it GREATLY appreciated... I'm about to just buy a whole new engine wiring harness.....

I just got my transmission rebuild (Broncos a 95 with an e4od) after about two weeks it started shifting hard and threw a code for the vss I replaced it and it still kept shifting hard. I finally took it to a electrical shop to diagnose it and he said it's the psom that is under my glove box and that they don't sell those any more in other words I'm screwed and should just sell the bronco. Does anyone know what he's talking about and how I could fix it? I thought the psom was in the instrument panel and under the glove box is the computer so am I missing something?

                                                                                                                                                                                        Bronco family I need advice. This is my 1996, 251,000 miles, 5.0L baby. I bought it with a 6inch lift (rough country I think), 456 Yukon gears etc... found out it was full of stop leak due to a broken water pump bolt. Did a new radiator support, front body mounts, new timing chain, radiator etc... she's running good now for the miles on her. Looking to focus on suspension, been looking at lift leaf springs to go back to normal blocks, thought about spending the extra money to get a complete kit from Sky Jacker (coils, leafs, pitman arm, shocks, drop brackets) then getting the longer radius arm kit from Bronco grave yard. Finish painting the frame and changing the rest of the body mounts, all new moog tie rods and ball joints and sway bar links, then get pre bent stainless steal brake lines kit to change all the lines, new rotors, wheel bearings, calipers, and a F-350 brake booster and master cylinder if I can find the right one. Then focus on the body. Looking for advice if I'm headed down the right road and what y'all opinions are before I make these big purchases. Thank you. ✌

                                                                                                                                                                                          Is it normal to have some white smoke at first after replacing intake gaskets? I dug back down to find that the gaskets didn't look awful but there's coolant in my oil. Should I have changed the oil and let the motor run out whatever might have spilled down into the valves or heads or what? Some people have told me it's normal to see the smoke and to let it run for a while, others have said something is fucked and I should go look at it again. I already tore down into it. Any advice? When I put the gaskets back on and in place, should I expect smoke for a short time, and if not, how do I be absolutely sure it won't happen again?

Nothing fancy all stock except the motor. The Motor will be a 351 Cleveland. Which I have. I have had it since I was 8 and want to get it on the road next year but I need to know price

                                                                                                                                                                                            If I the mother that's in it is in fact not a Cleveland as I was told and it is a 302 modified that's what will be put in it. I want all major systems to get a rebuild if that's possible or replaced if that's cheaper.

                                                                                                                                                                                            To help me get an idea of what the results of what someone spent on their truck so I get an idea of what will be my money's worth.

                                                                                                                                                                                            I have all the trimmings I have all the interior course it'll get replace since it's all brittle 30 something yr old plastic. It's seats are in decent condition the engine ran when parked has minor rust on front fenders which were going to be replaced any way. It is 4x4. It's been sitting for at least ten years which calls for a rebuild I have a carburetor already but I'm not going to sink a dime into it till I can get everything done in one fal swoop. Which will be expensive i have no false imaginings of that. Hope this update helps

                                                                                                                                                                                              So I got a set of heads and rebuilt them over the weekend. Special thank you to Shawn Russell for his advice and recommendations. Pulled the old heads and found why I was having a misfire/dead cylinder.... The driver's side head was cracked on #7. Was leaking coolant from the jacket into the combustion chamber. No wonder it wasn't firing. So today, on my vacation, I'll be putting her all back together again, changing the oil and hopefully back on the road by Wednesday at the latest. Praying for tomorrow though.

                                                                                                                                                                                                I have a 1985 bronco for parts or whole I am done playing with it. Has 351HO with new 4brl eddlebrock carb. Have stock holly as well. start and ran when I parked it will need alternator and battery. Parked it because of bad alternator and bad regulator. It does have ford centurion 40 20 40 seats as well as new kicker speakers but no radio. Have brand new door panels from LMC that are still in the box. Will need a muffler. Has c6 auto in it. I am looking to get rid of it ASAP I'll post as well on Craigslist and give about 2 weeks then off to scrap yard.

                                                                                                                                                                                                  I know that most interior parts are hard to come by but is there anything else that’s rare I should look for?

                                                                                                                                                                                                  I wanna make sure I make the most of my trip. Anything extra or not in my color I will be restoring and then selling.

                                                                                                                                                                                                    This isn't just today. It has been going on for a few weeks. And while the truck refuses to start, sometimes the gas pedal stays pressed while I'm trying. We cleaned the throttle body, or rather, my mechanic did, and the truck had been fine up til now. Leave it parked overnight at work in freezing temps and it starts right up. Today the gas pedal is occasionally sticking again.

                                                                                                                                                                                                    I left her alone for about 45 minutes and she still won't start. Up to now she always has if I gave her a break from trying.

                                                                                                                                                                                                    I doubt this is related but before I turned the key for the first time today, I performed the procedure to reprogram the conversion constant in the PSOM to account for the larger tires. But that shouldn't interfere with starting the truck.

                                                                                                                                                                                                      Picked up 78 Bronco for a mud beater CHEAP. Swapped the card off my old Bucket truck, Boat tank in back, trimmed n rolled fenders, got some free 42in ground hawgs. Someone did a ton of work to this truck n then let it sit for at least 5 years long tube headers Wielland intake but I'm not sure what motor??? You guys think the hf ton Axles will hold up w 42s?? Is chrome alloy axles worth it ?? Will they take the 42s Or I have a set of 1 ton dodge Axles I could swap in?? I have a fresh 460 iv been waiting for the rite truck to drop in?? But this motor seems strong & was supposed to have been completely rebuilt? I may 4 link n coil over at some point if im happy w it?? Whats the best sorce for performance parts?? Not trying to spend a bunch of $ on this as I have a bunch of trucks already just some MUD FUN. So far I'm lovin it for a 1 week build
