So, my son is going to be 2 in a few months and I'd like to start taking him with me to some shows and just generally have him involved with me and the cars. I'm debating about building a 30-31 sedan and have some concerns about safety issues, and would like to hear what those of you here have done about car seats and restraints in these Model A's, and in general what you've done to make these a little safer.

I wouldn't even think about putting him in my old sedan, which was a stripped down, bare bones hot rod with single pot brake cyl., drum brakes and boat seats with no seat belts.

Photos from Donald T. Schenck's post

Paint and upolistery were the only two things I planned to have professionally done. My friend Chris Fox shot the gorgeous oriental blue for me, but after waiting for several months with a fist full of 100 dollar bills I finally said screw it , I can do this. So I have about 70 bucks in materials for the top insert and about 60 in carpet for floor and door panels.saved a ton of money for other things. Thanks to Oddballz c.c. brothers Chris Stone and Terry Trull Jr. For their help putting the insert in , couldn't have done it without their help !!! #notchasingpeoplearoundtogivethemmoney

1931 Ford "Candy Cabriolet" (Rod & Custom cover car 1962)

I am selling my 1931 ford Model A Cabriolet that was originally built in Southern California in 1957 and later featured in Rod & Custom magazine and others. The car remains original to it's custom build. Candy apple paint is original, interior, etc. When I purchased the car it had a broken piston and had been sitting in the original builder's garage in CA since the mid 60's. I had a reputable local flathead builder replace the pistons and got it running. The engine is a 1934 with finned aluminum head and downdraft carburetor. The car has remained in incredible condition. It is a car that you have to see in person to truly appreciate how well preserved it is. Rather than go on and on about details here, I will post photos and anyone interested can contact me for any questions. I have a few trophies from big shows in CA and the original show plaque. I even have custom made covers for the clutch and brake pedals that were made by original builder's wife. May consider possible part trade. Thanks!

I ve got some front brake wheel questions for you gurus out there Dad and I...

I've got some front brake & wheel questions for you gurus out there. Dad and I are building a chassis for his 30 model a 5 window. We started with a complete frame from Speedway. Dropped front axle with hair pins, just picked up a 66 Ford Bronco 9" rear with 4.10s, posi and 5 x 5.5 wheel bolt pattern.

So I wanna order front brakes for this soon. We want to run 1935 ford wire wheels. Now I know about the support ring that needs to be used with the wheels if you are mounting them on anything other than stock brakes. But I want to know what front disc brake kit I can use that will clear these wheels. I am seeing conflicting information in my searches.

So who out there has done disc brakes and used 35 ford wire wheels with a 5 x 5.5 bolt pattern.

                  1930 FORD MODEL A WOODY

Here is a very unique WOODY with a VERY UNIQUE HISTORY!! It was pulled out of a garage in 2014 and bought from the original owners!! The ORIGINAL OWNERS turned out to be a family owned company that supplied FORD with the WOOD for these Woodies back in the late 20's and early '30's!! They had the templates for these woodies and then outfitted one of their own Woodies with Windows!! This was used as their family owned delivery vehicle throughout its life. The motor blew up in 1939 so they replaced it with a 1932 B motor! While they were at it they changed out the spoke wheels for 1939 solid wheels!! Also they added a heater to the vehicle!!! And ther is MUCH MORE HISTORY to this vehicle as well as the NSRA AWARD IT RECEIVED in Louisville Ky at the STREET ROD NATIONALS when it was DRIVEN there with the ORIGINAL DIRT ON IT after bein pulled out of its resting home for more than 50 years!! Anyway, I will pass on the phone number to the fella that drug it out of its resting place to the person who actually buys this rare gem! I last started and drove it a year and a half ago! It will need a fresh battery, fresh gas ! This is SUPER CHEAP FOR A WOODY !!! Especially one with this kind of history!!THE TOP has been replaced and the TIRES ARE NEW ! It is tagged titled registered and licensed and clear title!!! Cash only, no trades, and not a penny less!! Calls ONLY PLEASE! I have little time and NO PATIENCE FOR TEXTING and P, messages. Thanks 270-312-7900 , no calls after 10pm eastern time please, thanks

                    Photos from Jamey Hanis's post

First off, I wanted to say that this is a great page. I enjoy viewing all of the great projects that are posted up! I have a 28 Special Coupe that I picked up about a year ago. I have been slowly getting ideas on what I want to do with the car and have been slowly gathering a few parts here and there.

I am planning on keeping the build pretty 'basic' and building just an old school Hot Rod. I plan on running a 410/428 Ford, Toploader 4 speed and a 9" rearend. So far, I have most of the parts to build the FE, and I have a 9" from a 74 Bronco.

From other cars I have seen, I am planning on running 32 rails. I really like the looks of the particular coupe that I posted below. I like the stance, rake, height, etc. My question is, before I sell off the original pieces that I have, is there anything that I should plan on keeping from my original chassis? I assume that I will be purchasing everything that I need aftermarket, but I want to ask before I try selling the pieces I have now.

Also, what are reasonable prices to ask for some of the stuff that I plan on selling? I plan on selling my original chassis, fenders, hoods, bumpers etc. Nothing is pristine, but I believe it to be all usable. I plan on selling the stuff that I am not going to use so that I can slowly start to gather parts for my new chassis.

A build like this is completely new to me so I plan on asking plenty of questions along the way.

                    Thank you for any information!

                        Small Block Ford tri power

This is a small block Ford 3x2 unit with a new intake, no name, but I think it may be a Blue Thunder, genuine Ford 406 BBF carbs, new repo progressive linkage, custom hex log fuel delivery, and new O'Brien Trucker's finned air cleaners. Carbs have been in storage for about 10 years, and will most likely need rebuilt and I will include 3 new rebuild kits with the package. Everything mounted as a unit. Forgot that it has a new electric choke, new chrome thermostat housing and the filters are K&N style washable units. Message me for more information.

Multi carb specific fuel pressure gauge

Well, at last there is a fuel pressure gauge that is made just for the early multi-carbs used on traditional hot rods. This gauge goes from 0 to 5 PSI. It just happens to have the Dick's Hot Rod Carbs logo on it as well as the most popular gauge background of black. I wanted you to be able to see were the needle was from more than a couple inches away so I had it done in bright red-orange. The case is buffed stainless, and the mounting stem is the standard 1/8" NPT. The price actually is even better than most of the other quality gauges on the market. Get yours NOW.

                                      30-31 Vicky windshield frame

There are two rust holes in the glass channel, which would not show once channel aand glass installed. This a bare frame with no brackets. One end has surface rust from the way it was stored. I have taken several pics to try and show the rusted out areas. Each rust hole is about 2-3in. long. Otherwise it's a nice solid straight frame.I didn't see any holes until I removed broken glass and the channel.I believe in being as honest as possible,as I know how it feels to get taken. Shipping is extra, and would suggest insurance.

I am hand rolling my own metal. What I need from you is what is the measurement of the door openings of a good coupe. Mine was peace together before I got it and it was not a great job. The measurement are all over the place from the left to the right opening. If I could get the measurement of the top and bottom of both side. I would assume they would be the same but maybe not. Thanks in advance.

                                            New Afternarket Part Dealer

I am a dealer for many companies that supply aftermarket parts and parts for many popular vehicles. Tri five Chevelle Camaro C10 early fords to 50 fords. I know most popular Chevy vehicles and ford vehicles very well. If you are building a resto mod hot rod muscle car truck etc I can help you. I don't do much original mechanical work. I do know what aftermarket parts work.

Looking for a new chassis? I can help you.

                                              Looking for info:

I'm building a Model A Tudor with a SBC engine. The radiator is mounted in the rear portion of the body. I started out having it plumbed with 1.5" tube from water pump to radiator. The mechanical water pump was not able to circulate to coolant. I reduced it down to 1" I.d. Hose and still the pump won't circulate the coolant. We tried an electric water pump and a brand new high volume mechanical pump and still do not get circulation.

Has anyone ever done a radiator in the rear and if so, how did you get it to circulate? Any info is appreciated

                                                1930 Ford Truck

This is a project that I just don't have the time to finish. It was (and still is I guess!) an open cab 1930 Ford Firetruck. It's been streetrodded with a 350 Chevy engine. Has a 200R overdrive transmission. Dropped straight axle in the front and a Ford 9" rear end. Has 4 wheel disc brakes. Full set of gages in the dash. Has an aftermarket Centec wiring harness and fusebox.

The ladder racks/boxes have been taken off the back since the pictures. Like I say, the hard work has been done, so you don't have to worry about the drivetrain. Just add the body of your choice. I was going to do a panel van, but it would be an easy Firetruck again. It now as an 11' wheel base. The whole thing is 17' long.

I do have a good 1930 Ford title and matching VIN tag.

Trying to show the situation I have regarding the left roof panel not going in and down. I have gained about 2 inches, as I messaged the dent out of roof on back corner. As you can see by on pic, it looks as though the left qtr panel has been changed. The left front toe board- door post area has suffered damage, and they had fastened the firewall crooked to cowl. I'm going to have to modify the left front subrail, as I don't know what they used because the wood body block will not fit. I have a temporary shim in place. Body is bolted to frame with good door lines on both sides. Except the bottom of left door has very crooked home made patch. I still think I need to cut a relief in back roof area to relive the stress. Otherwise it will self destruct. Ideas??

I just turned 21 and I'm looking for just a shot, rough body, that I can slowly work on and learn on, and eventually turn into a 50s style hot rod. Still probably don't have the money for one right now, but wanted to go ahead and put the feelers out there for one. Doesn't need to have floors, or doors, or deck lid. I know I want to do the floors (if it doesn't have a floor) and I want to do the chop on it as well. The pictures attached are to show what kind of quality of body I'm looking for, it is NOT MINE AND NOT FOR SALE. PICTURES ARE JUST A REFERENCE TO WHAT IM LOOKING FOR. Looking for a long term project. Once again, I probably don't have the money for one just yet, but I wanted to ask if anyone had any bodies that were kinda rough and fairly cheap. Located in El Paso so the closer the better lol. Thanks everyone for the help.

When weight goes on the axle, the tie rod will hit the engine crank pulley. I've been told NOT TO BEND THE TIE ROD? Maybe I have too much drop in the axle (5 inches)? Tie rod needs to go on top of split wishbone. There's a single spring now, maybe I need stiffer and higher arched spring??

Named it bad mojo Vicky do to the fact I went to get it Friday the 13th with a full moon and the building number was 666 ! Pretty damn solid one little spot of rust on the drivers side cowl bottom , and the areas that roll underneath on the wheel arches are a bit rusted but other than that just surface , it's a shame the roof of the building leaked and the basement got damp I'm sure it was a super nice body when originally put down there ! Bought this to have a home for my flathead but not sure as to what I'll do with it yet

My intent is to get this car up and running by June using a donor Chevy 350/350 engine/trans in the stock '30 frame. No body channeling but I will box, Z and sweep the front according.. but the question is what rear end should I use that would be readily available at a junk yard? I heard S-10 rear ends work well with this set-up? Once the car is running and I can enjoy it, then I will start building a '32 chassis from scratch using '40s traditional parts.

There is still plenty of time left before spring to make this happen. This '29 Tudor already has juice brakes and has been converted to a 12V alternator system. Interior is complete minus the headliner. This was originally an older restoration so the interior is not original. I have the headliner if you desire.

Freshly rebuilt carb, new leakless water pump. Comes with electric wiper. The top has been filled so it won't leak!!! Good solid car, I just need room for another project.

Here is a unit that is quite rare and seldom seen on a 221, 260, 289, or 302 SBF. It is a MAN-A-FRE 4x2 balanced system for making lots of go power for your engine. This system consists of a completely reconditioned intake with 4 totally remanned and tuned Rochester 2G carburetors. Connected by custom polished rod end linkage and polished fuel delivery. Air cleaners are custom made and are one off at this time. Unit comes complete with a new chrome thermostat housing as well. This unit is designed for big horsepower engines as the carbs put out a total of 1100 CFM. I dare say you will not find another for quite a while, especially one that is fuel ready and complete. Please message me with any questions.

This car was parked for 50 years in a barn. The motor turns free but the transmission is out of the car. very very solid car. As you can see in the pics, the car is full of parts to include the full interior. This car would make a bad ass ride! The car is located in Owensboro Ky and has a Michigan Title that matches the motor numbers on the car. I will trade but I really like Model A stuff. Let me know what you have....I forgot to mention that this car has Factory independent front suspension! I added the pic!

Have new '32 style crossmember, and motor mounts that needs to be welded on. 2k for everything, 1500 for all minus front. Going a different route, getting frame built with different suspension setup on front and rear. Weld rims, tires are rollers, (will need replaced).
