I have had lots of people ask whats done to my ute , well a lot that no one sees . Lots of phone calls to forced performance and asking on forums helped me a lot , and yes it was a struggle all the way to the end .i don't recomend to do this if you have no mechanical know how .two years it took me to finnish this but only one year to asemble the car so not to bad if you only work on the car on weekends and that was not even all the time as i got the shits with it .

It has got a TBRE asembled forged motor rated to 800 hp tony said .has got technico engine mounts rated to 1000 hp .the engine also has a oil cooler mounted under the passenger headlight . The build dominello BTR has a open converter and a stall speed of 2900 rpm also has a yella terra flex plate and a build tailshaft by Farrows at Nambour. There is a transmission oil cooler behind the cab , sadly Dominello past away some time ago now RIP . It has a old style Nizpro cooler that i custom made all the aluminium piping for to suit. The diff is a hart transmission from brendale build true track with Danna 3.9 gears .it has all new suspension including nolathane bushes and anti tramp rear leafs same as the brute utes had about 6 years ago .brakes are T2 dba rotors with ebc red pads and newly rebuild calipers , and braded lines with 5.1 dot brake fluid . The interior also got some new trimed fg seats and guages to warn me if anything gets to hot on track days .i fitted under the tray a isolator swich to cut any power in case of a emergency. The ute had a full respray about 5 years ago but was only driven for about 20.000 klm since then .i custom made tail light at the back and pulled the whole tray apart and got it powdercoated in a silver , then replaced every bolt and asembled it .the fuel system is a single 460 walbro in tank and single 460 walbro serge tank by process west. .there is also a turbosmart E boost street controlling the two boost setings on E85 and a turbosmart plumback 38 mm blow off valve under the bonnet. The exhoust is a 4 inch xforce stainless steel dump with a 5 inch cat and a twin 2.5 stainless xforce exhoust to the end . The turbo is a xr6turbo development stage 3 jim Gianna turbo which at the moment does a great job . Lol i think the cheap $ 450 number plates suit the ute well 5low6 . I

I realy want to thank Jamie at Forced performance for his great work he has done thanks again . Also a special thanks to a forum tuner from Adelaide ( JETURBO ) for advice given . Great help from everyone on forums that stuck with me in this long build . Not bad for a home build car in a double garage with basic tools and a workshop manual lol

Our internet is down and can not upload the go pro .so this one will have to do from my phone .this video is on pump 98 only with 490 hp . The car made 604 hp on E85 ( still more in it ), and what a diffrence e85 makes wow . All this never would have happened if jamie from forced performance would not have looked after me and spend time sorting everything out to get it where it is now , thank you very much jamie great job . Great work at a great price well worth the drive from caloundra. Could not be happier with it as that was the goal i set right from the start 2 years back

So..... About a month ago i put up a post asking what were peoples thoughts on LPG motors, as my timing chain tensioner decided to let go at the end of the track and take the valves and pistons with it , LS Engineering & Maintenance PTY LTD was keen to give this a go and we had some pretty neat results! maxed out fuel system at 430rwkw with a 460walbro intake and 1000cc injectors at 17psi... left it at 15psi and still making a healthy 400+ :D Upgrade down the track and ill see what we can push it to #gtx3582r #XXXLPG #tunedbyls #LSEM #BARRATHEWORLD #BBQFALCON

Harmonic balancers. tossing up between atomic streetuff and race spec

Harmonic balancers..... tossing up between atomic streetuff and race spec.

Gonna be in a daily with some puff Hopi g for around 500kw.... will be using 16mm girdle and grout filling block to Welch plugs......

Atomic said their cut off point for streetuff is 500kw and beyond that they use race balancer..... I'm wondering if the additional stability of grout filling will be an adequate counter of torsional vibration in combination with girdle and streetuff balancer not to warrant spending double on the race spec balancer when the car isn't intended for drags??

Hey fellas just after your thoughts on head studs and head gaskets. Im nearing the final stages of screwing my new motor together but not 100% which head gasket or head studs to use. I was just going to use the ARP 12mm head studs but a friend recommended i look into either the Atomic 12mm with bigger washers etc or the ARP custom age studs as he reckons ill be pushing my luck a little at 30-35psi (gen2 7675) with the ARP 12mm studs.

As far as head gaskets go ive looked into the permaseal or Cometic gaskets but open to any recommendations. Thanks in advance and any advice is welcome!

Hi guys got something a bit different to most of you guys I've recently converted my gu patrol from the rattley old diesel to a bf f6 engine and I'm chasing 500rwhp so far my mods are valve springs oil pump gears id1000 injectors 3.5" dump pipe and a 450x300 front mount cooler with 3" piping hot and cold side now looking at going a gtx37. So far my fuel system consists of a walboro 460 intank to a 2.5l under car surge tank which is all braided so I can run e85 if wanted am I pushing the boundary asking for 500 at the wheels ? I spoke to my local tuner and he told me that I'd need a setup that will make 600 in a falcon to make 500 in mine ? Any help would be very appreciated

Just trying to cool the transmission more when i am in traffic as it starts to creep up to 100 degrees . When i am driving its no problem at all as it sits at about 70 to 85 degrees. So decided to fit another two fans in the front and the derale fan still at the back of the cooler .if that does not work i will ether make another box to fit two of the setrab coolers to help keep it cool . Will have to try it out tommorow as it is raining tonight . Also fitted a 40 by 20 angle to draw in more air as with the fans in front of the cooler might restrict the airflow going to it

G'day guys, I'm new to the boosted scene, I recently bought a SOHC au motor of a mate, it has stock internals, head studs valve springs and a cometic gasket. It has a mild snout of head work, FG spec 35/40 tial external gate, running on LPG with ice ignition. It made 245kw atw with a top loader through a 3.45 diff. At 10psi.

My question is how far can I go with a stock bottom end before I'm really stretching my friend ship with the stock bottom end??

Just FYI it's going into a XT wagon C4 2200-2500 stall 3.5 gears full floater 9"

Quick question guys, I've got a set of 20x8.5 wheels running 245/35ZR20 tyres. The offset is +40. I want to put them on my BA Turbo running 322mm BF brakes. The rears fit fine but the tyre hits the upper control arm on the front. I've been down to a couple of tyre shops close to me and they have all said that 20x8.5 +40 offset wheels will fit my BA. Are they wrong or can I use these wheels on the front with a different width tyre? If yes will my car throw a code? Any help is appreciated as I would really like to use these wheels!

                  Need help - ZF issues

Ok, so I've had my ZF built around 1000kms ago, I ran the trans in and discovered it had a little spike in gear change 3/4 since rebuild, this is a short video to show the change under load. Brought it back and he reckons it's normal? I've done 3 passes at the drags and all 3 had a massive pause between 3/4 change. All other gears shift perfect, quick and feel firm on change just 3-4 playing up. I previously posted that I couldn't stall it up on convertor and best 60F so 1.9-2.0 as it wouldn't allow me to go any further before revs started dropping back? The response was tune related, now can this "spike" of revs from 3-4 be tune related also? Or just simply the trans flairing, damage convertor or problem in the box itself. Been battling trans issues since day one and starting to get over it.

                  Help much appreciated

Question guys about tyre height and at what stage does a tall tyre trigger the traction control sensor and put up the warning ??

I plan on trying a 27.3" rear tyre and am hoping it's ok to not have it play up..

What tyre sizes above stock have people run without this happening ?? Tyre in question is a 265-45/18. I have run a 245-45/18 and also a 275-30/20 and it's fine but they are only about 26.5" tall and this is a bit more than that. I also realise that this can be altered in the tune and will sort that eventually but hoping for now it won't... cheers..

Hey guys going from internal gate to external

Hey guys , going from internal gate to external ,

Cars currently got turbosmart 12psi spring internal setup on it ,

                      Cars tuned running 15psi ,

Going xr6 turbo developments external gate setup , off the rear housing ,

Ok question is if I get a 12psi spring in the external gate setup , will it work as it should obviously still using the boost solenoid , or should I by pass the boost solenoid and run a 14-15psi spring and go from actuator straight to turbo housing , Orr am I understand this whole thing wrong and have to get another tune ?

                      Thanx in advance

Yesterday I was unlucky enough to encounter this after someone smashed into a van and sent him into me, after hitting me the van went up on 2 wheels and the only thing that stopped him flipping over was the next car he ran into, pretty sure it's fixable. Main reason for post is to just brag about how well my car handled the impact, heard and felt it but it didn't move me much at all if anything across my lane of travel. The van that hit me was a 97 vw transporter. And secondly Shannon's insurance has been brilliant so far in the way they are dealing with it they have organised for it to be picked up today to get assessed and to start the repair process couldn't be happier with the out come so far.

New 08 fg motor on its way to replace my ba turbo motor. My mechanic is a legend so i have no doubts, bit what is essentially involved in boosting one of these motors, rest of the car is set up to make 400+kw, but the other day the timing chain tensioner packed it in and took my inlet valves with it.... skipper teeth ect. Mechanic said 3g plus on rebuild, or rebuild gas motor for stronger bottom end for less. What kind of power have people made on these on 98 and e85. I tried searching the forum but couldnt find much... cheers boys

Hi fellas, ive got bf mk2 xr6 turbo and notice the temp guage going towards the half way point when im in stop start traffic with aircon on. I turned the aircon off and when i got home i had a look under the bonnet and noticed that when i turned the aircon on, only the thermo fan on the right comes on. I turned the car off and pulled the relay out for fan 1 in the fuse box at the engine bay and started up the car and tried the aircon. This time none of the fans came on. I tried the same relay that i had pulled out from fan 1 and popped it into fan 2 and none of the fans turned on. So i ruled out the relays being the issue. My question is, is there any other fuses or relays i need to check or is safe to assume one of the thermos fans are faulty? And if its the case should i buy an oem set of thermos or do you recommend any after market thermo fan setups?

Sorry for the long description and thanks for your help

I was looking for an aftermarket coolant overflow/expansion tank for an FG GT to replace the discolored stock one but am coming up short. All the ones i have found are for BA-BF with the straight bottom hose. The FG is angled down. Some say they suit BA,BF and FG but give the same unit. Has anyone changed their coolant tank? Would prefer a black one but alloy would do the job. PWR make one that it says suits FG but it looks like the BF one to me. i.e no angled bottom hose.

                                Needing some info

I just bought a v2 water to air intercooled supercharger kit for my boss 260

Just wondering if anyone else has put one on and what else they had to do I'm only running 5-7psi through it cause it's more of a cruiser

But need info with people that had done it and got it tuned and if they ran into any troubles with the running

Was stock fuel system/injectors adequate or even putting stock fg f6 injectors in

Are valve springs worth doing if I'm only running low boost 5-7 or they won't cause a drama cause if they are might as well do cams also

I know the more you do the better the outcome but just really wanna bolt it on for now as I'm building another engine for higher boost/power levels and just wanna get it on this engine and run it around cause it could be a year before the engine is finished any input is welcome the more the better cheers

Drilled a hole into my sump plug so i could fit a wire through it to stop it ever coming undone .i am not the best with how tight stuff should be so that eliminates that happening so i do not need it so tight . Have seen on a holden 202 the filter come off which always made me tighten them more than necessary which then makes them come off with lots of force so now with that wire i can be les forcefull with tightening . The other thing i noticed is where the gearbox mount that holdes the exhoust up was not used which i might get welded on next week just for my own peace of mind.

                                    Guys

                                    Guys,

My mate has his tune booked in a few weeks and we're aiming to make around 340kw keeping things relatively safe and reliable. Got a few questions to ask..

                                    What parts do I need?

                                    I've already got a:

-Turbosmart actuator with a 12psi spring

-Cat has been bashed out (should we go venom cat and dump instead?)

Id1000s injectors and a walbro 416 is also being planned to be purchased and installed.

What are your thoughts and how should I go about this?

Also is a mid muffler delete necessary? Can I replace it with a high flow resonator as to avoid drone?

                                    Thanks in advanced.

A final figure of 555rwhp (413rwkw) / 860nm of torque @18psi on 98 and still wanting to make more but was held back to minimise impact to driveline components. I think it's a truely impressive outcome considering she's still running stock engine & turbo. Very happy with the performance and the warm rumble of the 4" Nizpro exhaust coupled with the induction noise is to die for.

                                      It's enough..., for now.

Forced Performance & Tuning have really delivered, far exceeding any expectations I had. Thank you John Mckean and Jamie Kuhn for looking after my girl.

Thought this was worth a share.

Over the last month i have been on a mission to find the most effective polish/sealant.

                                        Queensland sun every day.

Maguires gold class $80 a kit, Maguires restore compound $40 a bottle. And numerous other polishes. By hand and with machine.

As a last resort i tried good old nu funish. Applied by hand only in full sun light.

For $19 i think the results speak for themselves.

Sorry for bad photo. But left is obviously the polished section.

I don't endorse or enything like that. Nor do i say whatever you choose isn't good. Purely my research.

My FG, won't get a better 60F than 1.8 no matter how much I load it up on foot brake and handbrake at the drags. Tried many different ways still no better, feels very lazy out the hole but yet does 112mph 1/8 track and consistent 138-139mph 1/4mile times. Trans also has a massive flat spot from 3-4th change. Am I looking at a convertor issue or would I start somewhere else. Sick and tired on doing runs after runs with same 60F which is effecting 1/4mile times massively

                                          Sorry for my ignorance

Thats why the shift lighr did not work . We also fitted a new starter motor as we thought it might have been that . 2 days to find a simple mistake . That hurt my pocket . Current mods are 1000cc injectors, stage 3 plazmaman cooler, 4" dump to 3.5" xforce exhaust. I have a 1000hp tailshaft and soon to be kpm streetfighter fuel system and 4" turboside intake for the new turbo

Hey guys, I have a BoV venting to Atmo atm and to be honest I quite enjoyed the sound. It is in the left part of the engine, throttle body side connected to full plazmaman intake system. I am currently getting a similar sound from the OTHER side of the engine, assuming at my turbo itself. My car has blow by (not major but will need a rebuild eventually)

Any ideas on this? Sounds fucking shit getting on boost, and have 2 BoV sounds go off completely out of sync.. Considering removing the BoV so it stops tbh..

NA barra with 3576 turbo pulled 230hp in a Landcruiser with 33" tyres not too bad but was expecting more. Is already on 13-14 psi so should I start adding some timing at the top along the 180kpa and 250kpa line? I just want to have a play and see what i can get out out of it I've got an FG motor ready to go in when it pops

The ute is back home from forced performance at toowoomba , they done a nice job on it and looked after it well . Only 10 minutes after we left Jamie i had one of the closest calls ever with a big truck , i have no idea how we never collided. He must have not seen me and changed into my lane kellie my misses was behind me in her car and thought it was all over . Besides that episode there are justs some small problems i will have to sort out with it . The starter motor clicks and does not turn over the engine .voltage is 12.7 to 13 . And the battery has 810 cranking power . So ether my brand new battery is stuffed or the starter or the cable . Then i have to get used to the btr gearbox as it changes no mater what rpm very snappy which feels like its going to rip it out of the floor . Maybe becouse my air box that i made with the cooler in it keeps it to cool , the hotest it got was 75 decree. It mostly sat at 67 all the way home and only changed on hills .they should run at 85 to 95 . Ok i only gave slight uping but that felt good . Taking it for a spin tonight as it is stinking hot here and on the way home . Love it , only got to get used to it how to drive it and change gears for now . And those tyres still are so loud when they loose tracktion , sound like a 4x4 tyre( high pitch)

I had my aircon finally fixed last week n was working fine up until Thursday night when it decided to stop working. I go to turn aircon on and the compressor tries to cut in, revs die down ect but fans dont cut in, i un plugged this while it was running and fans came on but still didn't let gas or something through as it was still hot air coming out. And advice would be appreciated. Thanks

That alone shows me how detected they are to help there clients. The work they have done to finnish my ute was also very well priced , i was taken back as that was a lot cheaper than i expected . All i can say is that i was over the moon with the price and the result of the run in tune . One more sleep and i finally get to drive the ute again for the first time in 20 month . Thanks again to Jamie and his team at forced performance at toowoomba .

Can someone give me a practical example.

Still use the na computer? Can you tune it for boost just on the single na map sensor or do you need to get the second boost sensor and turbo map sensor and wire the boost sensor into the comp?

I used studs and nuts last time but the studs just backed themselves out.

I asked a nut and bolt shop and they sold me these studs and nuts. The nuts will apparently lock onto the dump flange stopping the stud from backing out.

I'm just unsure if the studs are the right material too be using in a turbine housing.
